Hi Sniead, how are you? I loved watching the guards when I was in London. Unfortunately, didn't see the changing of the guard. I'm currently working on a story involving a story about a royal guard its called falling hard for the Royal guard by Megan Clawson you should read it. That's the actual title of the book. I. Writing the fanfiction to it. xxx ❤😊
I've been watching these virtual tours of London recently during lockdown here in Sydney, Australia. It's bringing back many memories. So professional, just the right pace. Thank you Sinead.
Glad you enjoyed it, Yvonne! We are proud to bring a bit of London to you. You might also enjoy our Westminster walking tour video ruclips.net/video/__jg98sdg_Q/видео.html.
I remember being part of changing the guard many years ago as a military musician. It is great for tourists but for the lads and lasses involved it is a long day.
The Guard in the start of the video, ""it's not the slip-it's the recovery that counts"" Sinead, you in the UK have such a Long and Dynamitic History. Between the History, the cities, the small towns to the beauty of the country side you have enough subject matter to last you for years. My neighbors moved here from Manchester about 5 years ago and they call me a "Brit" stuck in a American body because I read so much UK history. A GEM of a watch.... I went way over break, Back to work I go..............
They're part of US Corp City of f London ,in charge of Enomic finances Vatican, - spiritual guidance District of Columbia provide to t he e military are all s now debunked dissolve bankrupt .
Dynamitic! Agreed. Especially on November 5th, the annual Guy Fawkes Day, celebrated throughout the UK with a flash, bang, wallop, etc. Dynamitic indeed...
I took the Changing of The Guard tour with Sinead a few years ago. I remember her saying “ tour group Go! Go! Go! “ as we dashed from place to place. Sinead is very informed, knows all the tricks, and has a lovely personality. Her tours are a must. Graham Sydney Australia
Thank you all guards of all regiments, military band, the life guards and the Royal blues for all what you do for Her Majesty the Queen Elizabeth the Second, for the British public and Tourists and any other visitors who come and visit Britain and end up having the opportunity to watch if they happen to be in London when you’re doing the changing of the guards at Buckingham Palace. Thank you very much for the joy and peace you bring to one during your performance. May the good Lord Bless you and your families. Keep up the good work and do not pay much attention to negative comments. Know that you’re British’s Best. I like you all and have enjoyed my time watching you and dancing along your military musicians especially when they play Christian pieces e g Amazing Grace, Just a closer with thee, it was very helpful to listen to these pieces. God Save the Queen and Bless us All.
When my friend and I visited in 2011 we took a day long black cab tour. We started at Abbey Road and then we arrived at St. James Palace and the band was playing a Beatles song. Then off to Buckingham Palace. We didn't know about Free Tours by Foot then but our guide knew what he was doing. I loved seeing it again! Thank you!
No problem. Next time you are in London (or one of our other cities) you can take our tour, Sherrie :). BTW, have you watched our Abbey Road Crosswalk video? ruclips.net/video/kgn49KhsCyM/видео.html
Thank you very much for sharing I’ve been watching the changing of the guards in London for a very long time before the pandemic. I really enjoy watching them marching and listening to the military band. It is very therapeutical to watch them because you forget almost everything that’s worrying you at that time and you just get glued on what is happening and even dance along their music. What Always do is to pray and bless them as they carry on doing their royal March and playing their instruments. It’s lovely to see and I encourage others to support them. They bring the British tradition to life. Brilliant. On the other hand you may hear other spectators mocking them and saying negative words, but in all this I always look on the positive and enjoy myself in what they do because I think if my brother or sister was one of them, how would I feel about the negativity?? Bad indeed. So I choose to look on the good side and support them in prayer, blessing and cheering them up. God Save the Queen and bless us all.
aww this was the best, i thank you with all of my heart, you know exactly what my spirit needed. Since i have never traveled abroad, and always wanted to tour the UK, this was right up my alley!! I always dreamed of going to the UK since i was 14, it seemed my life started at that age, there was a terrible life before that but my dream started at that tender age. this was so amazing and i called it right, you are my sister and i adore and love you through my soul!!
She made this with lovely very very well done and I really appreciate the fact that you pointed out that any experienced tour guide will go nowhere near Buckingham Palace during The changing of the guard beautifully
Glad that you enjoyed the video, Jerri, and thanks for subscribing. If you haven't done so already, you can hopefully check out our back catalogue of virtual London tours ruclips.net/user/FreeToursbyFootLondonvideos. There is more of Sinead where this came from.
Fantastic. My Dad who is in heaven, bless him was a Sargent Major. Was also in the Coldstream guards. And in the Royal Artliiary. I miss him so very much. He is my Dad. ♥🌷😊 thank-you for a beautiful reminder
Best view I ever had was at the Wellington Barracks. Seeing the inspection of the old guard was cool, but the best was the day we were there, one of the band members had his last day and the band played him off as he left the group.
Glad that you enjoyed the video, Charlotte! If you haven't done so already, you can hopefully check out our back catalogue of virtual London tours ruclips.net/user/FreeToursbyFootLondonvideos. There is more where this came from.
This is a shout out to those watching Sinead videos… I just finished a tour of London and most specially the Changing of Guard and i want to say Sinead was right on target with her recommended self tours and location and times for the changing of the guard (St. James Wellington Barracks Buckingham Palace.). I followed her recommendation with times, locations and turns and i was right on target. I got some wonderful photos in the exact same location that Sinead mentioned in her video…. You can not got wrong with her recommendation. I also followed other videos of hers during my stay and i can say the same…. By the way the luncheon visit to Sky Garden Restaurant was a perfect way to end my visit to the City of London. Well done Sinead… well done.
Sinead , the story of the "sobriety march" is absolutely true . You will also see guards officers doing a "sobriety march" when troops are paraded . The officers will march backwards and forwards in a straight line . This goes back to when officers got drunk in the officers mess , the "sobriety march" was to prove to troops that the officers were sober and fit to command them .
Glad that you enjoyed the video, Patricia. If you haven't done so already, you can hopefully check out our back catalogue of virtual London tours ruclips.net/user/FreeToursbyFootLondonvideos. There is more where this came from.
Fabulous tour and terrific information! I will definitely use these tips when I visit next month. Sinead is fantastic. I’ve watched almost all of her tours and really enjoy them. Thank you Sinead!
Love watching Sinead I have seen so many lovely places in London only been twice and now too old to go again wish I had know about Sinead then I would have asked her to take us on a tour Thank you just love these walks xx

Sinead, you surely said it right. The amateur way of watching the ceremony is like I have done it the eight or ten times I have been present, the first occasion way back to 1969!, and that is standing outside the gates of Buckingham Palace. Next time I will follow your steps. Thanks a lot for an amazing tour and all your explanations. Regards from Mexico.
Watching Sinead. again love these videos. love Sinead if I ever go to London I would ask Sinead to take us round Watched a lot of these videos so far just love the way she tells us all about the places she takes us to I’m in my 80s now so dont think I will ever go back there the only time we have been to London was to go on London Eye it was beautiful to goon and I don’t like going on things like that but I really enjoyed it love to see the guards as I love our royal family always have Thank you Sinead you are great xx
Thanks again for watching! If you know of anyone else who might also enjoy these videos, please share us with them. We would really appreciate that! Thank you.
Thank you for this, I lived in London for many years yet never saw the Changing of the Guard because of the crowds. If only I’d known how easy it is! It was great to see the Household Cavalry too, my great-uncle served with them and was part of the Sovereign’s Escort at the Queen’s Coronation.
I think so many Londoners skip it for that reason, too! We are glad we got to share it with you :) Thanks again for watching and if you know of anyone else who might also enjoy these videos, please share us with them. We would really appreciate that! Thank you.
Glad that you enjoyed the video, Gerard. If you haven't done so already, you can hopefully check out our back catalogue of virtual London tours ruclips.net/user/FreeToursbyFootLondonvideos. There is more where this came from.
Brilliant stuff Sinead. I love these "special" videos. This and the raising of Tower Bridge are just superb. Filled with tips, fantastic knowledge and timings. You've hit them both out of the park. Well done.
Thank you for this video. Plan to follow it exactly in a few weeks! Question though, if we'd like to watch the changing of the guard in the exact way that you show in this video, what time are we safe to have our tickets to tour the State Rooms @ Buckingham Palace? Options now for 11, 11:30, 11:45am? Will we be blocked off because of the guard ceremony to get to the tour entrance? Can we fish through the crowds to get to it on time? Next after that is 12:30pm, which I fear we'd be wasting time in between. Would love your advice on what to book, and if you have any other suggestions on where to grab a snack if you happen to say book the 12:30pm tour. THANK YOU!

Sinead thank you so much this video was really special i enjoyed it so much it was almost like being there in person, what a wonderful spectacle makes you proud to be British.
Is there any better sound in Central London than a large group of mounted troops going by, all the horses hooves clip-clopping? It's wonderfully dramatic. We are so lucky.
Glad that you enjoyed the video. If you haven't done so already, you can hopefully check out our back catalogue of virtual London tours ruclips.net/user/FreeToursbyFootLondonvideos. There is more of Sinead where this came from.

Excellent very informative and extremely well presented. I used to live in London for 50 odd years and I can remember when I was a kid my grandparents taking me to see the changing of the guards . I failed to take my kid there , shame on me . Thank you for your uploads.

The foot guards for Clarence House were a mix of Grenadiers ( single buttons and grenade collar tab) and Scots Guards (group of 3 buttons and Thistle collar tab) and not surprising that they are mixing and matching right now.
Of all your Free tours by foot I have watched I thoroughly enjoyed seeing this one! Been to London 5 times and never got to watch a changing of the guard ceremony. Great job despite a little - "bad audio". Sinead is the perfect tour guide !!!!!
excellent video as usual by you, though I was born in London I never got round to visiting any of the famous places or sites. I used to go past Trafalgar square often when I came to London to buy jazz albums. For many years I have lived in Essex but whilst married in 1st marriage I never had spare money to visit London. my last marriage ( until 2002 ) I also lived in Essex, but never got round to main London venues. Did go to London to view with my wife and children . Now I live alone and I am 80 and so not keen on a lot of walking. anyway Sinead keep on making your great videos, thanks

Your suggestions are FANTASTIC! While there are more people on the route now (7/2024), it's so wonderful to follow your suggested path and see these pieces of the event up close!
We followed your video, and luckily we didn't need to complete it! We overheard a guard talking about the gates to Clarence House being open, so we waited there and watched as the King was driven out past us. Thanks for your awesome guide!
Absolutely stunning loved your commentary. You have so much passion in your voice. Looking forward to your next walk. Love and hugs from Glenn in South Africa.
i agree with most Londoners in thinking that it’s a huge house, but there’s only two reasons i’d go there: to see the Queen’s Picture Gallery and to see the tour… i’d be like you and enjoy the parade and see them marching rather than behind the gates, it’s the real ceremony and why they do it. both the guards marching and horses on parade are must-sees but only in the way you showed
I am coming to London Sept 2022 from America. I love, love your videos. I plan to use this video as a guide to see the COG ceremony. Seeing as we will be traveling so far, we don't wish to spend it up close and personal with palace gates with all the crowds! Thank you for sharing your knowledge!

Sinead you get more and more attractive with every video. The amount of information you unload is amazing. Thank you. Hey! Hope you've something special planned for Halloween now that we're heading into the Autumn! Keep up the great work, all. X
Am also in Aus. Seems to be a lot of Aussies watching this stuff atm? For myself it is so interesting as back in 1989 when I first arrived in Aus I said to my new friends that I should do walking tours and video tours of attractions in central London. I knew my way around so well as a teenager as I had spent a few days cruising around the city-bunking off school! I used to have my sandwiches on the steps heading down to Horseguards Parade.
Thank you very much for this guidance, I would not have enjoyed the changing of the guard today as much as I did without this guidance and I am truly grateful. The downside from my experience today... A few tour groups have watched your videos and are now copying your instructions exactly. The lines were 3-4 deep today at most stops and the Palace was closed due to set up for the Jubilee which may have caused other areas to be so crowded. I was expecting 20% of the crowds today based on your experience in the video. Saying all this, I would follow these instructions again and again as this was the best possible experience. Thank you.

I will never tire of The Guard Change always such fun
Sinead
THANK YOU!
Thank you Sinead for this video next time I’m in London this will be my position watching the guards
You will love it in person Imelda
Thanks for watching
Sinead

I saw the changing of the guards from our trip in 2013 .Fabulous
Sinead thank you so much this video was really special i enjoyed it so much it was almost like being there in person, what a wonderful spectacle makes you proud to be British.
It truly is an amazing spectacle will never tire of it
Thanks for watching
Sinead
Is there any better sound in Central London than a large group of mounted troops going by, all the horses hooves clip-clopping? It's wonderfully dramatic. We are so lucky.
Ditto that!

There is also a changing of the guards in Windsor between Victoria Barracks to Windsor Castle.
I love all the pomp and pageantry of the United Kingdom, I'm from America and we don't have that here❤
It is something special, isn't it?
My Dad and I Bumped Into you on 4th of July 2022 in front of St. Jame’s Palace. Thank you for your very helpful videos. My Dad said he will send you coffee or tea.
The Changing of the Guard is a "formal" Guard Mount in "military speak." What you call a mini guard change is posting the guard.
Thank you this is very valuable

Beautiful lady ..i love your vlogs xxxxx
Thank you so much for your fabulous tours and videos! So educational and interesting! These should be shown in classrooms so the children could get a real feel for history! Great work!! 👍👍❤️

Wonderful as usual, Sinead! I think my favorite part is the band.

I enjoyed this tour SINEAD. I loved hearing your laugh when you saw one of the guards slip.
Ahhhh he had a great recovery though 👍
Behind the scenes Sinead indulges in a bit of Schadenfreude from time to time :).
Excellent very informative and extremely well presented. I used to live in London for 50 odd years and I can remember when I was a kid my grandparents taking me to see the changing of the guards . I failed to take my kid there , shame on me . Thank you for your uploads.
So happy that we could bring this to you. Now you can pass this on :).

Delighted you enjoyed it

The foot guards for Clarence House were a mix of Grenadiers ( single buttons and grenade collar tab) and Scots Guards (group of 3 buttons and Thistle collar tab) and not surprising that they are mixing and matching right now.

Of all your Free tours by foot I have watched I thoroughly enjoyed seeing this one! Been to London 5 times and never got to watch a changing of the guard ceremony. Great job despite a little - "bad audio". Sinead is the perfect tour guide !!!!!
Delighted you enjoyed it
Thank you
Sinead
Sorry about the audio. It only happened in close proximity to the band so there may have been some transponder in use by the band.
Incredible as always Sinead!
Thanks again, Amy. We also have a video that covers royal London ruclips.net/video/__jg98sdg_Q/видео.html, if you haven't already watched it.
When you mention the Foot Guards and Horse Guards cross over near Buckingham Palace ,they are saluting The Colours carried by the Colour Party.
And it’s always a pleasure to witness
Thank you
Sinead
Thank you for adding this info, Helen.
excellent video as usual by you, though I was born in London I never got round to visiting any of the famous places or sites.
Thank you for your kind words delighted we can bring London to you now
I’ll keep making them as long as people want me to
Thank you again
Sinead

Your suggestions are FANTASTIC! While there are more people on the route now (7/2024), it's so wonderful to follow your suggested path and see these pieces of the event up close!
We are so glad you found it helpful, Jennifer!
Fabulous Sinead, thank you so much 🤗

I loved it all. Thank you for making these fantastic videos. Love it love it love it!!!😊
We followed your video, and luckily we didn't need to complete it! We overheard a guard talking about the gates to Clarence House being open, so we waited there and watched as the King was driven out past us. Thanks for your awesome guide!
Fantastic! So glad our video helped :)
Those horses are absolutely gorgeous!
They really are Jean, hopefully you get to see them in person soon
Thanks for watching
Sinead
Stay tuned for our video on the Horse Guards Parade changing ceremony.
Absolutely stunning loved your commentary. You have so much passion in your voice. Looking forward to your next walk. Love and hugs from Glenn in South Africa.
i agree with most Londoners in thinking that it’s a huge house, but there’s only two reasons i’d go there: to see the Queen’s Picture Gallery and to see the tour…
i’d be like you and enjoy the parade and see them marching rather than behind the gates, it’s the real ceremony and why they do it. both the guards marching and horses on parade are must-sees but only in the way you showed
I am coming to London Sept 2022 from America. I love, love your videos. I plan to use this video as a guide to see the COG ceremony. Seeing as we will be traveling so far, we don't wish to spend it up close and personal with palace gates with all the crowds! Thank you for sharing your knowledge!

Halloween of course 😉
Stay tuned , thank you for your fabulous words
Sinead
Yes. Stay tuned for Halloween-themed content.
Also. spent a lot of time watching parades etc as my dad was in the Army and lived in South Ken.
Thanks for sharing with us, Tony!
Thank you.
Yes, you are right about the parts of the Palace causing crowds elsewhere. Once they've taken it all down, the Mall should be less crowded again :)
Another Fantastic tour Sinead, so looking forward to seeing you on our next trip to our wonderful Capitol.
My pleasure, Gary.
