Exclusive: Why Dan Snyder Plans To Sell Washington Commanders | Forbes

- Dan Snyder has retained BofA Securities to sell the Washington Commanders, sources tell Forbes. According to a person familiar with the process, Snyder already has at least four calls from groups interested in buying the team. Snyder and his bankers are exploring all options, and a transaction could be for the entire NFL team or a minority stake.
Neither the Commanders nor Bank of America, which has handled such notable team sales as the purchase of the Los Angeles Clippers by Steve Ballmer in 2014, would comment.

@@RB01.10 Any name change rebrand will sell well. There's many diehard fans of Washington DC Football and will follow them no matter what the name is. But the matter of the fact is that many fans highly dislike the new name and would love a new one. RedWolves was a very popular one but of course it's "offensive" somehow which makes ZERO sense. Lots of professional team names are named after animals and there's no problems there. Why is it all of a sudden "offensive" when Washington wants to use RedWolves? Politics truly ruin everything.

Lol I know this dude is only repaying the favor of being fed this news by the team, but nobody in this area, and I mean NOBODY, likes the "Commanders" name/rebrand. It polled/surveyed terribly over the past 2 years. Redskins fans, if they were forced into a rebrand, wanted Warriors, Redwolves, Braves, Hogs, or Potomacs.

I've been a Redskins fan since 1987. I wasn't to happy about changing the name. I understand why it happened and honestly Commanders isn't bad. It makes sense for the DC area. One thing is for sure. Dan Snyder has to go. Worst owner ever. I'm sure every Washington fan out there will be happy if this is true and he sells the team. I've been waiting years for this idiot to sell the team.

SELL SELL SELL!!! Im a DC native and a Steelers fan but a Redskins fan by heart but Snyder needs to sell it all and walk away!! They need to go back closer to DC or Va to build a new stadium. Landover hasnt been an ideal place for the stadium, i think Va should be a more reasonable area even being a Maryland home owner. I have only been to a few game even tho the stadium but i always thought the new stadium should be closed in to host a Super Bowl ???????
The other owners are pushing him out. Dan Snyder and his organization from all the rumors, lawsuits, and verifiable accounts I've heard have been doing some pretty despicable things behind the scene that would make the NFL look really bad if the full scale of what was going on came out.

The branding has not gone well. The fanbase overwhelmingly does not like the new name. 'Commanders' was LAST in the fan voting for a new name.
Actually it sold quite well on that Fanatics site back in February after the name change was official

The new owner should bring back the original name the Washington Redskins and logo was not offensive the majority of the fanbase wants the name back it was only a few that want to impose their will and the Dan Snyder change it is not fair the few dictated what the franchise has been called since they came into existence the new owner will bring back the Washington Redskins name back and they want to sell tickets and merchandise and the fanbase is that and the majority want the name back.

Whatever.....I just want to see situational football at a high level on sundays. This world has a meriad of real issues that start with poor leadership at "high levels". It affects our world economy and overall national security. In the big scheme of things, this ain't one of 'em. I'm a season ticket holder. I don't go into the stadium wondering if I'm going to run into a Dan's body guard telling me I can't use the latrine because Dan is washing his hands. No. I don't care if Dan is the owner. BTW, what if Dan sells the team and we continue to lose? Will that be a fresh start? Will you leave the stadium breathing a sigh of relief saying "we got blown out by the Cowboys 42-3, but at least Dan is not the owner" (??) No! This society and its cancel culture. SMH. How is the rebranding going well? I don't know a single fan who likes this stupid name. Our fans don't even show up to the games anymore and the stadium is half taped up because they can't fill those seats. Also I have seen little improvement on what this man is claiming that Dan has done a lot to turn things around.
