- At Agritechnica in Hannover, we tried to squeeze in as much as we could in between days while in Germany. That meant trying out a bunch of tasty food, seeing the Marienburg Castle, checked out a few old chapels and buildings in Hannover and Hamburg, and even went inside an old U-Boat! The trip is now over, but we'll never forget the memories made together.
As we all know, sailing the ocean by themselves, on top of an iceberg,
was the favorite pastime of European rulers in the 19th century.
Many were lost, but some survived to tell the story.
„Marienburg“ (Mary’s Castle) was built 1858-67,
on a hill called „Marienberg“ (Mary’s Mountain).
It was given to the wife of George V on her 39th birthday.
Oh, and her name was Marie von Sachsen-Altenburg.
Thanks for keeping our facts straight! ;)
November: some farmers use to seed green fertilizer to grow, give nutrients, hold nutrients within the soil with their roots and cover and save the naked soil during winter. It's probably mustard plants
Awesome, thanks for the info!
Yes, could be mustard. Fields have to be covered with plants all year round to prevent the soil and ground water. Germany has a big problem with high nitrogen content of the drinking water and this is one measure to improve the situation. The plants freeze and will be plowed in spring. Mustard is often used, as well as some kind of cabbage or mixtures of plants.
You can also find winter wheat on many fields.
Good to know, thanks for the information!
My plant app says it's a variety of white mustard in that field
Awesome! Mystery solved 😁
Who else recognized the two Oscar shaped trees along the road after the Marienburg scene at 03:42
Wow, good eye! Had to squint my eyes a bit, but I think I see what you're talking about 😊
Das ist doch unsere Marienburg.. ach wie witzig, ich wohne da in der Nähe 🙂. Leider wird sie vorerst geschlossen, weil der Dachstuhl saniert werden muss.
The castle was so beautiful, even though we weren't able to see inside. We loved our time in Germany! ☺
wissen sie war dort Angepflanzt wird? das ist deren Frage.
@Riverview-Ranch i asked what is growing in the field.
@@fabianstriebeck8054 from what we could gather, it seems like it was some type of mustard
@@Riverview-Ranch Hallo, unterhalb der Marienburg steht alles unter Wasser. Niedersachsen ist leider gerade sehr von Hochwasser betroffen.
Bruv Basic he built the castle for his wife
hannover... maybe in the top 5 of ugliest cities in germany (i know, coz i was born there). best cities to visit in that part of germany are lüneburg, celle, stade, hamburg, lübeck, wernigerode and i hate to say this, but even bremen and braunschweig are more beautiful. but yes, fairs are big in hannover, the fairgrounds are huge.
If we had more time, we would have loved to explore more of Germany. Since the convention was in Hannover, naturally we spent most of our time there. Still, very lovely for us Canadians! ☺
❤ I think hanover is cute!
Hannover ... the home of the BLESSED GARDEN GNOME!
