    Super inspired! Thanks for sharing your story! I study economics at the moment and I’m really interested in the whole data science field. Let’s see where I will end up.
    I wish you the best and stay as amazing as you are!

    Thank you for sharing. I learn a lot from your video. I am trying to work in Sweden. But, My major is Economic Analysis and I am not an English native speaker. I hope I could find jobs, especially in this situation.

    4month before I was looking for a data scientist or data analyst or data engineering role in singapore as I will graduate on this month from my master degree in SMU and occasionally know your channel at that time , 1 week ago I got an junior data scientist offer from one of the top logistics company on the word and the role base on Singapore, thanks for your sharing to let me know the knowledge and skills gaining in work place is much more useful and import . And don’t be afraid you can’t handle the job even some knowledge you don’t have for now.

    Such a great story! And very similar to mine, actually 😀 I went to the same school in Moscow and then went ahead to do a masters in Statistics in Canada that eventually lead me to a job in DS. I totally get the crying part 😉 it was hard to switch fields and go to a post graduate level right away, but well worth it at the end!

    Hey
    Anastasia K, Thank you for the great content and insights you are sharing. Absolutely helpful. If you may, can you please try to increase the sound quality of your videos by increasing the volume? I tried your videos with different devices yet it gives the same law volume output. It makes it a bit difficult for me to follow your flow and I seriously do not want to miss a word! Big Fan here :)

    hi anastasia! your are my role model to becoming a data scientist! i have been very anxious lately about pursuing the data science career. my educational background is nothing close to anything companies look for. i have a bsc. Geology, a post-grad in Geographic Information System, and now am taking an 8 month program in Data Science and Business Analytics in U of Texas... i have experience in database management thru sql, python automation and data clean up thru pandas, and spatial data analysis - but this is all in the Geographic Information Systems realm. i am very passionate about data that i chose it over wanting to become a web developer. but now i am realizing that my path might be parallel from the road to becoming a data scientist as i lack some of its elements like statistics (which i only self study), and the deeper computer engineering elements like when you mention API, etc. should i keep going? what other things should i do? or should i just stop?

    Я учился в Варшаве (Warsaw School of Economics: Quantitative Methods in Economics and Information Systems), делаю сейчас год перерыва (работаю as a Data Analyst в Украине) и хочу поступать на Computer Science в Нидерланды, Австрию, Германию.

    Я бы хотел узнать твое мнение, как опытного специалиста. Скоро заканчиваю универ, немного знаком с математикой, нейросетей и их обучением на любительском уровне, также немножко знаю и программирую на Пайтоне. Как мне быть? Подтянуть статистику и учить новые стеки и технологии (Doker, Hadoop, spark, clickhouse, SQL или любой другой БД ) для работы DS. Или же как-то по быстрее найти работу (наверное будет сложно) а там подтянуть все эти знании и стеки в реальных проектах.
    Ммм, уже получил больше часть ответа, после того как полностью просмотрел видео. Ну, а если хочешь комментировать и что-то добавить, то было бы круто.

    which resources: web/course/books would you recommend to start with in order to become a Data Analyst/Data Scientist for a beginner? Thanks :)

    • @AnastasiaKVL
      @AnastasiaKVL  3 года назад +6

      For a complete beginner I recommend reading Cassie Kozyrkov's blog, I think she presents information in a very good condensed form.
      Here decision.substack.com/p/analytics-the-complete-minicourse
      and here decision.substack.com/p/statistics-the-complete-mini-course
      And then just start exploring the things you don't know from there :)

    Hello. Is it convenient to live in Sweden with knowing only English language?

    • @AnastasiaKVL
      @AnastasiaKVL  3 года назад +4

      Honestly, not that much. I worked only in English speaking companies, so can only talk from that perspective.
      You may need Swedish for some bureaucratic things like going to the doctor, doing taxes, extending visas, buying things offline and ordering food in cafes. But I never encountered anyone here who doesn't speak good English when it's important to understand each other.
      However, if you want to have a rich social life, attend classes for hobbies, etc - it's best to learn some Swedish.
