      Project Blue Falcon many of these cheapo eachines perform better on lower power, i do not know why but one of my vtx does exactly same when using full power

    A little side note... Vendors would really do us a great service by producing a wire harness that is more durable and does not require the end user to apply superglue and hot glue at the connector to give it at least a chance. I always enjoy your vlogs bro. Thank you for your service to the community.

    Wow, that's strange. I can't believe the Tx varies that much from other similar eachine TX's. I picked up a couple of these and already have them in hand to try out. They supposedly have a rolling power feature that's suppose to reduce breakup. I saw another review that looked really good.
    I wonder if there's a cold solder on your connector? I had a similar experience with a Tx that was working fine, but all the sudden it started failing like this. Turned out to be a crack in the solder from a crash. Looked fine until I took it apart and realized what was happening.
    Since I already have them, I'll give it a try and report back here.

    I actually have the one you reviewed in latter video and it does work great.. but I recently have gotten ahold of some Turbowing vtxs and they rock for what they are.. the one is racing inspired 25mw/200mw and quality is amazing

    that's a shame, it's the first low price vtx that checks all my checkboxes, switchable, built in mic, 600mw capable. I've got some on the way, hopefully they work better for me. I run rpsma, so that's not going to get touched. I'm hoping it's just something with your unit, or maybe something with electrical noise on that quad, or maybe even an issue where the connector was swapped.

    • @ProjectBlueFalcon
      @ProjectBlueFalcon  7 лет назад +1

      It's always possible it could just be a bad unit. I dont think its where I swapped the connector because I swapped the connector on the other VTx from a couple days ago. The RF meter test also would have caught it. Shouldn't be noise from the quad because the VTx I had on it before works fine. But quality control is always an issue so there is no denying the unit could just be bad.

    This is a good VTX guys, I have returned my TBS unify and gone with this much less interference but I do sadly miss the smart audio. Oh well at least I fly without worry now

  • @loc4725

    The extra channels on the 72ch model are reported to interfere with weather radar (which *will* be noticed) and I also wouldn't be surprised if presence of that radar also clips your video.
    And in any case thanks for the honest review. I won't personally be buying as that level of loss & breakup just isn't acceptable, especially when you consider the potential for loss or damage of your model.

  • @TinyPirate
    @TinyPirate 7 лет назад

    My similar cheap-ass VTX won't go to any predictable band/channel when you mess with the dipswitches. Such a piece of rubbish. Unify on the way!

    I got one of these from Bangood and it had no range just like yours. I examined it and the antenna fixing was shorted out against the metal heatsink cover. I fixed the short but still no range. It had blown as soon as I powered it up. Bangood replaced it on complaint and sent me another one. I tested continuity before powering it up and sure enough it had the same fault as the first one. I bent the metal heatsink plate inwards away from the antenna center soldered joint ahisnd this fixed the short problem. I would advise testing for this short before using this transmitter. Seems to be working fine now.

    You absolutely want a voltage regulator for a 24v vtx, even with a capacitor, i've smoked 3 of the ones that claim 24v. Only the 28v ones can handle 4s.

  • @johncitizen3361

    That's pretty crappy. I'm using a really cheap eachine VTX03 which is tiny but have it on a full size build which I've soldered a pigtail to and I'm using an aomway antennae. It won't take vbat but it takes 5 volts and kicks out 5 volts to the camera. I'm using it at its highest listed power setting of 200mW and it's great. Yesterday I was flying with 5 other people most using high end VTXs, all running at 200mW and worked great then too.

    • @aabb-zz9uw

      VTX03 has better video quality.

  • @MzanziRC

    Damn. I have one on order and now bit skeptical. I just ordered this cheap one as it has 5V out for the cam and my PDB does not have an extra 5V out besides the one I'm using for my FC. Oh well. Will just need to test it when it comes. :)

  • @aabb-zz9uw
    @aabb-zz9uw 6 лет назад

    The cable is really crappy. It breaks and cannot be easily replaced ; the soldering points at the board's bottom are hard to access for soldering and could be shorted easily. The cable is really weak. Vibrations of the motor or wind could easily break it.

    I think that one's VTx is the LAST place to try to scrimp. I mean, we're FPV fliers, so losing video or getting poor reception over distance, or blasting your fellow fliers out of the air when you plug in should be discouraged. Also, these cheap-ass bangood products tend to really bleed into the other channels.
    In the interest of keeping clean video for myself and others, what VTx would you all recommend as "the best"?
    General consensus seems to say TBS Unify or Immersion RC Tramp. Any others in that category worthy of a mention?

    Hey JC, there shouldn't be any Continuity on the signal to the ground? I found that two of my Eachine transmitter (EACHINE TX526 5.8G 40CH 25MW/200MW/600MW Switchable ) Both of those two transmitter are terrible range. I check the signal to the ground and there continuity. Like it is short together or soldering short it out. Found a resistor (smd green with black stripe) and took it out and the range was a lot better. Now I wonder why they had it there. But you should check your's to. I'm curious if your's is like that and causing poor signal range.Plus the other DYS Mi200. If you got time. Thanks.

    • @mmrko1

      I have noticed the same! I have TX801 and I noticed that no matter what power level or channel I use I get much worse picture than with my old quad! My old quad (Eachine Racer 250) has some 600mW Eachine VTX. When I use multimeter to check the signal and ground pin on the old VTX there is no continuity! But on the TX801 there is full continuity (so the signal and ground are shorted!) What I understand from antennas there should never be continuity between antenna and ground?!?

    hi mate...any chance you have damaged it when resoldering the connector? or may be it does not like the power it is getting.....

    • @Bobby11
      @Bobby11 7 лет назад +2

      Thats what i was thinking, because theres bad products and then this. If i had to guess, its either something got overheated while soldering or a bad TX. If you get that much static that close. (25mw would give better than that usually) I guess ill find out, i ordered 2 of these a couple days ago :|

    • @ProjectBlueFalcon
      @ProjectBlueFalcon  7 лет назад +1

      Dont think that could be it because I remove the SMA or RP SMA connector on every single VTx I own to make an extension with bung on the end. Its also not noise in the power because the VTx I removed to make this video is working perfect. It could be bad right out the box. It's a possibility. But if it is damaged but passed the QC check then my review wouldn't have been any different.

  • @gh0zt4
    @gh0zt4 7 лет назад

    Could be a bad vtx that still works just not the way it should. Or the vtx is to sensitive to the frequencies all around. I have the same vtx in a ground buggy get betta reception sitting in my car using goggles half open alotta trees half metal obstacle, park type area. 200mw and 400mw settings work pretty good. Trees though can cause snow but never lost the picture like some spots in this vid. open areas its crystal, I added a heatsink thats it. On Band E ch 1 atm works good other channels are better or worse for certain areas.

  • @CurrryWurrrst
    @CurrryWurrrst 6 лет назад

    don't hate me on commenting on this old video, specially given the circumstances.
    but i think i know the reason for this very bad reception he gets.
    in the beginning of the video he shows the operating voltage of the VTX, it starts with 7 volts. But he is using it on a 1S quad with 3.5-4.2 volts. So couldn't this be the reason for the bad reception?
    my friend has this VTX on his 5" 4S quad and it is AWESOME! so i just ordered one aswell.

    Hi.. thx for the review, JC. I just bought this eachine tx801, and I had checked the continuity between inner pole and outer ring of female rp-sma port of the tx. My question: is it normal if I got a beep continuity sound, is it a defect? or what? FYI: the stock antenna comes with the duck/linear (male rp-sma). Any kind of answer would be appreciated.. thanks.

    Can you solder the wires directly to the back pads of these eachine transmitters?? i bought the tx526 and it does the same thing as this one blacking out. The harness is finicky. I have to pull it put a bit and get it at the perfect angle and hot glue it to get a good non black picture. The harness sucks but i believe the cheap wires have alot to do with it too, if i touch them they also black out from time to time.

      I dont think so. I remove the SMA or RP SMA connector on every one of my VTx's to make my own extensions with bung on the end. But it is possible it was bad out the box. Always a possibility.

    Would smart audio be an option? I don't see an audio out wire to this vtx but maybe someone out there could locate a solder point on this vtx??? It's my understanding that this would be the only requirement since this has a microphone.

    i have the other cheapo vtx you mentioned... can you do a power test on it to see if some channels are better? i went from 25mw to 200mw and didnt get any increase in stability ... i noticed that some trees cause more signal block after it rains... more water in the leaves???.... also i'm getting very slight diagonal lines of interference . very slight and very consistent.... i'm just preparing to teardown and troubleshoot.... i'm hoping its the osd cable i left plugged into runcam mini or some signal wire is parallel to a wire in my messy build..... last option is my vtx is tied hard to my rx and maybe telemetry signal is bothering vtx?. if anybody else has had this issue i could use some tips.

Connected the transmitter the same as old one but have two extra wires blue=ground and red where do i put the ground/blue? The picture is getting much interference through my fpv googles when just sitting on the table is that due to the ground or do in need to buy power filter. or just because i have on 600. The picture is way better but not as clear as i expect.but not clear bit wavy

    yeah I will go ahead and spend 30-40 bucks on a RMRC cricket.
    there are things you just should not cheap out on.
    the link that allows you to control where you are going and the link that allows you to see where you are going?
    yeah priority on those first. cheap out on motors or escs and frames... and use that money on the stuff that will help you get home.
