- In this video, I'm playing a best of 3 duels series against my teammate @Lennli. The twist is, that neither of us are allowed to guess in the right country. This created some super interesting situations, and made perfectly normal Canada and USA rounds super scary. There were also some downright strange coincidences, so stay tuned for those!

I love how everybody (including me) trying Wrong Country Challenges just accepts that you can't guess in the ocean next to the country. would be clearly beneficial eg at New Zealand. But nobody does it

Also usually 12 nautical miles of the oceans/seas area around the country technically belongs to this county so it would leave the room for arguments I think
Even if you exclude the ocean wouldn't guessing Norfolk Island group be better than guessing the Australian mainland? I guess if it's in the south of South Island Tasmania is a little better.
for the ecua/colo round, two things are worth noting that could've helped: a) there is a variant of the ecuadorean flag that doesn't include the coat of arms, and it's used pretty frequently within the country itself; b) at 5:01, the sign you zoom in on has the logo of the ecuadorean province of manabí in the top left

would be fun, but i think as soon as you get 2 or more players per team youre gonna get the same 2 hedging spots every game
It would be cool for a single player mini-tournament. Or if it's multiplayer both players have to pick different countries.

010 are Korean mobile numbers, which are quite commonly posted on small businesses. Landline area codes for the southeast corner would actually be 05x--difficult to tell from a zoomed out map whether you were in Daegu proper (053), Gyeongnam (055) or Gyeongbuk (054). In Korea, area codes always start with 0 and local phone numbers never do!

On the first game, the opponent guessed right country but should've won. The game mode would be exciting if you can risk guessing right country to win but then still get the wrong continent punishment if you didn't get enough points to have won.
I don't really focus on phone numbers, and i'm fascinated how it can actually help a lot. I just never realize it's significance.

when you're doing wrong country challenge and its in southwestern serbia and you worry for the happiness of all your serbian and kosovoan viewers
Wouuld be interesting to see a duel where winning is actually loosing, so everyone just tries to be as far away as possible, altho at a high level of play that might just be boring cuz no one gonna take a decent amount of damage
It would be kind of funny to see how high the multiplier would climb. I'm new to Geoguessr, but could you theoretically get 40x or 50x damage? It would be slow early game, but seeing the insane multiplier would be worth it at least once
All of those Southern Japanese Islands are part of Okinawa prefecture :)
I've never been dropped in a location that I could very well 5k but that Moab one at 8:35 is definitely one simply because I've been there and it's super distinct.

Q: Learning Brazilian phone codes really improved my gameplay, for what other countries learning the phone codes is really useful?
USA but that would be extremely difficult since there's so many and no rhyme or reason. If India gets finished I would say that would be #1
Japan defo, Russia could be good but really hard. France/ Turkey are some other easy and worth ones
True but you don't see those posted as often. You always see phone numbers in the countries I posted
Its super helpful for Andorra, it helped me to not lose many points in andorra rounds 👌🏼

Don't know the reasoning behind a vast majority of these eg "Oh it's definitely Mexico" or "Bangladesh" just from turning around. I know you have to get it quickly but would've helped not just seeing names pop up out of nowhere

What happens, if you guess in the wrong country, you guess in the wrong continent next round. What happens, if on that next round, you happened to guess on the right continent?????
Should do a rule where you can’t do countries with no regular coverage
not a fan of this tbh, on the one hand its good that this would increase the potential for right country guesses, on the other hand it limits your possible hedging spots too much i think
11:15 I think it's only the area codes that are relevant, but in this case they were omitted. I'm pretty sure you can find the 0XX-600s anywhere in SK and in this case it would be 053 or 055.

You should try playing competitive where you can only guess in country capitals. Or only guessing in water, you can limit yourself to only ocean, lakes and ocean, or rivers, lakes, and ocean.

@@Lennli the coat of arms on the ecuador flag is kinda optional. it's not always used. that's also why the galapagos boat trekker appears to have a colombian flag on it, but it's just the ecuador flag variant without the coat of arms
