My main concern right now is the future of modding and Bethesda. Fallout 4 is already in the creation club, and now Skyrim has creations. Eventually, starfield, and heck, maybe even everything before it will have the same model. Creations is a dangerous game. While some see it as not that bad, I see it for what a danger it will be. Charging for player made content just feels scummy to me - or am I the only one? Yes, not all the creations content requires money, but a good portion of it does right now, and who’s to stop them from doing more. Some of the content in creations seems to be actually developed by Bethesda itself, and the rest of it is designed by modders.
Honestly, if you were to ask me what Creations honestly feels like, it feels like micro transactions. They have sold skyrim on over a dozen different versions and are now trying to cash in on extra micro transactions by charging the players a couple dollars here and there for alternate armor sets, small bits of content, and more. For a company that can’t even focus on patching or fixing their games questlines, letting modders do the work for them, it seems even scummier to then let the playerbase be charged for this additional content. Maybe I’m overreacting, but I don’t think I am. What do you all think? Make sure to leave me a message down below, and don’t forget to have a beautiful rest of your day, everyone.

The free mods have already had most of what Bethesda put out now. Most of their mods are inferior and you can get better ones for free. There's no logical reasoning to pay Bethesda for their modded content. Morally, maybe, but that's a bit different. I am not going to give Bethesda a dime. Their credits system is inherently designed to get more money out of you by making you pay to get more credits than what you need to buy their mods. If it's 400 credits, you have to buy 700 credits to even get the mod that costs 400. None of the mods you can buy from them match the credit options you have to buy and that's by design. It's good business, not logic. I should be able to buy an exact amount of credits to buy what I want. I shouldn't have to pay more to buy something that costs less. Do you get what I'm saying?

Like why even create a currency?? This just adds unecessary steps to what should be a simple purchase. Let me buy the thing, don't make me buy your fake currency to then buy the mod!!

Especially the gall to release a game that shattered records, you're already swimming in cash, then you look at everyone who's still playing the old stuff, and decide to shake the quarters out of them for, seemingly no reason, but greed.

Ya this happened like 2 days after i had picked up skyrim for the first time in like 5 years and i was like dafuq Bethesda?!? This is why i gave up eso, them and zeni make it clear their customers are just that and only that to them. Which is typical for corporations but it hurts more when it is art, which video games are, and we just want to consume art without being constantly exploited

I kept my mouth shut when it came to releasing it for the nth time, i kept my mouth shut when they changed prices from 60-70 on average, because thats the only amount its changed at all, but i can't stay quiet any longer. somethings' gotta give. I bought ESO for 4.99 on the shelf of a used game store and still haven't touched it or FO76, but I have heard good things about the latter recently and was thinking about trying them both out for the first time.

And this is why I stopped allowing Skyrim and a few other games to auto-update on Steam.
It's not worth breaking mods and load orders for some arbitrary update they decide to crap out.
I highly recommend everyone do the same.

Skyrim is game which has been modded for 12 years with 1000's if not more mods created for it a lot free and some on websites with a paywall. what made Bethesda or maybe even their overlords Microsoft think this was a good idea. If they thought this would make modding better they were completely wrong

I kinda did something similar. When Bethesdas "Update" hit my save file, I said "F**k it!", deinstalled the Special / Anniversary Edition and their whole "Creations" shenanigans and rebooted my old and slightly modded Skyrim: Legendary Edition stored on an external drive. No more Creation Club bullshit to deal with.😉

Honestly, don't be dismayed. They are a business they can't make money with free content drops. It's honestly everyone's fault for hyping this game up so much. Being mad at this is equally as absurd as s being mad because you have to pay taxes. The difference is that at least in this situation you don't have to pay a dime extra if you can't or are unwilling. I seriously think that ppl are only outraged in the content creator realm because the views make them money as well. Remember controversy loves company 🎉 enjoy that bag 💰
