    Oh my goodness, I'm so excited to wear these!!! I worked through the night to get some more progress in because they were going so well haha. The directions were perfect for me, Sasha- I'm a mostly beginning sewer but have made a handful of items. I find commercial pattern directions vague and hard to follow, so I really appreciated the detailed video and especially getting to watch it before purchasing the pattern - very generous of you. I want to make so many more of these! Luckily I already have some fabric my Mom was getting rid of that I'm going to repurpose :)

    I usually get tired after about 10 minutes of watching a tutorial but found myself glued to this one!
    I love the attention to detail! A lot of thought and work was put into this! Thank you so much!
    I'm looking to drafting my own dungaree pattern with this much detail! Wish me luck!

    Thank you so much for the tutorial, it was very detailed. I am a begineer, made only a few pieces so far and i fiund this video easy to follow. While searching for a dungaree i came across yours and i loved the desogn. Sadly however i am unable to support you monetarily. I drafted the pattern on a tee shirt i wore and one of my pants. It came out well and i am very proud of it. I would love to send you a photo when i finally wear it.

    Love, love, love your patterns and these tutorials. Think it is a stand out that you review the article before you start. It really helps to get the context and understand more when watching the process. Thank you for making these.

      Ah that's such helpful feedback, thank you! 🥰 I can't imagine making a piece without having a look at it's construction first so this was the closest way I could think to bring that to home sewers - really glad to hear that it works for you! 🤩 ✨

    Hi! I love this pattern, I wanna make one but cannot decide on the fabric, would a cotton canvas of 12oz, 410gsm density work well? or is too heavy?

    • @sashastarlight
      @sashastarlight  10 месяцев назад +1

      I think that one would be a little heavy/stiff for the gathers at the side! 200-300gsm would be best if you want something a bit heavier 🥰 ✨

    hello, i just bought your pattern and i have a question regarding sizing. My measurements are bust - 100cm, waist 90cm, and hip 115cm. My measurments almost exatly maximum body measurements for each size. Are dungarees relaxed enought for me to make them in size SMALL, or should i size up? Since the fit is "relaxed" I am worried if i size up the dungarees are going to be too big.

      Hi there, sorry to have missed this! For pattern help it's always best to get in touch with me on Etsy where I get back within 24hrs 🙃
      I would go for the size SMALL as it will be a good fit for you at the hip, then the ties will allow you to draw it in to your waist measurement for a closer fit there 👍 ✨

    May I ask what the chalk pencil is you're using? I bought one but it's crap quality and doesn't mark my fabric.

    • @sashastarlight
      @sashastarlight  2 месяца назад +1

      I always use Hancocks chalk markers - defo recommend! Also if you tap the tip of the pencil on your tongue before marking you get a must crisper dot 🙃 ✨

    I made a version of this years ago when my sister was pregnant. I put buckles on the side ties for easy adjustment so there wasn't any bows.

    Where do you purchase your fabric? I’m trying to find a purple version of your hot pink fabric!

      I got that one in local remnants shop - Woolcrest in London. It's a cotton needlecord though and there's quite a few independent sellers on Etsy that have similar in a range of colours! 🙃 ✨

    Just finished my pair, and the guides you make are *fantastic*! I really enjoyed the complexity of this, despite being a beginner in hours (but skill-wise, I have enough similar-skills that pass over). I've also made your cocoon jacket and palazzo pants, and this is my favorite by far! Thank you!

      @@sashastarlight They really have been! They're a big hit! :) I changed the side ties with elastic straps encased in the fabric, and added a panel of the lining material behind them. I'd send you a picture, but I never post on Tiktok, and don't have an instagram 🙈

    hey, just bought the pattern! I saw your answer about gsm so I was wondering if 8 wale corduroy counts as "chunky"? it's 270gsm so fingers crossed! thanks so much

    • @sashastarlight
      @sashastarlight  8 месяцев назад +1

      Hi there! 8 wale is slightly chunkier than normal but I think it should be ok if lighter weight 🙃 - avoiding the chunkier cord is mainly so it doesn't interfere with the topstitching (which is 0.5cm wide across the piece) and still has a bit of drape, which it sounds like that cord will 👍
      Also just to add - for the fastest response for pattern help I get back to messages within about 12hrs max on Etsy 🥰 ✨

    Almost finished these dungarees (giving them as a christmas present and will finish hem once i have given them). Even though not for me, i love them!! Great pattern and easy to follow instructions, will definitely be making more, my youngest daughter has already asked for a pair. Really want to make your palazzo pants now!

    Hi! I saw your pattern on Instagram and loved it, so I bought it off etsy right away. I love the ankle and waist ties, but I wonder if it would work if I used a small buckle instead of just bows. Input would be greatly appreciated. Also the formatting and info on the pattern instruction guide is excellent and really really helpful.

    • @sashastarlight
      @sashastarlight  Год назад

      Hi Sam! Ah thank you so much, that's super cool to hear 🤩 and yes buckles would work or small D-rings (which might be a bit less fiddly). Also if you tie the sides in a simple knot rather than the bow it gives a much more 'neutral' look too. If you want any more guidance ping me a msg on Etsy & we can brainstorm some options 🥰 ✨

    This tutorial is so perfectly thorough! I’d really love to know the brand of your chalk pencil, I have never found one that marks so clearly
    Edited to add, I found your from TikTok and immediately purchased the pattern on Etsy.

      Hi Cherie! Ah that's great feedback to know, thank you and hope you enjoy the make! 🤩
      The pencil is made by 'Hancocks' - their chalk products are hands down the best imo (I use their triangular chalk too). I discovered when doing my training on Savile Row as it's the brand everyone uses there. Also a tip with the pencils - lightly dot the end of the pencil on your tongue first. Sounds a bit gross but helps give a lovely clear mark everytime 🙃 ✨

    Just purchased this patterm and im so excited to start! Ill be making a pair for my pregnant friend, do you have any tips for adding more ease in the waist (i was thinking inverted triangles at the side seams?). ?

    • @sashastarlight
      @sashastarlight  11 месяцев назад +1

      ah so nice of you! So... they are quite roomy at the side already... but to add more I would add the extra triangle between the Front & Side Front pieces for a pregnant fit (so it doesn't interfere with the pockets). Feel free to shoot me a msg on Etsy though if you'd like some more pointers! 🙃 💕

    I just cut this pattern out and have some feedback. (Easily resolved on my end, but would be so appreciated in future releases)
    1. The yellow outline for the large sizing is very difficult to see when printed on white paper. Maybe it could be orange instead?
    2. I found it slightly confusing that the outer marking that applies to all sizes is the same color as the smallest size (example: the right edge of the Side Front piece is purple which corresponds to the XS, and there is a notch marking near the shorts cutting line that is also purple. I’m assuming that notch is for all sizes.) The key lists the all sizes marking as dark blue but looks like that is only used on the shoulder strap.
    3. It would be helpful to label the pieces with the actual number of pieces instead of the number of pairs. (So “cut 2 self” instead of “cut 1 pair self”) This really tripped me up for some reason lol
    4. It would be so helpful if the bottom half of the Back, Side Back, and Side Front were labeled corresponding to the top half since the are on separate pages in the A0 version(just a simple “A, B, C” along the match line.)
    That’s all! Thank you so much for designing these, they are SO CUTE! 😍

    • @sashastarlight
      @sashastarlight  Год назад +2

      Ah thanks so much for this Cherie this is super helpful!!! 😍
      1. good to know, I'll see if I can find a more visible shade
      2. will take a look at these now, think the notch might be an error on my part!
      3. referring to the pieces as 'pairs' is a convention in patterns so you know to cut a mirror image pair, rather than 2 pieces the same way around... I'll think of a way to make this clearer on the pieces though and I think a note in the instructions might help too
      4. great idea! I'll defo add that in 🙃
      Hope you're enjoying the make so far 🤩 ✨
