In this video, you'll learn how Romans Ferrari, a pediatric rehabilitation center, developed an innovative way to produce custom compressive masks for treating facial burns. A digital workflow using 3D scanning and 3D printing -- specifically Selective Laser Sintering -- was implemented thanks to a multi-team collaboration among doctors, prosthetists, and engineers.
Located close to Lyon in France, this center provides care to children and adolescents who have had trauma, brain damage, brain tumours, polytrauma, and severe burns.
    Benefits of choosing this technology
    ⌚ Time / Speed-up R&D, Production and Patient-Care
⚕️ Accuracy & Quality of Medical Devices
    💲 Lower Production Costs
The center has immense experience providing treatment for severe facial burns, which includes specialized compressive masks that reduce the risk of complications and scarring. However, the traditional way to produce these masks involved an uncomfortable workflow that could induce post-traumatic stress disorder in children.
