  • Brigitte Gemme started planning healthy vegan meals in her Vegan Family Kitchen in 2017. She shares her multi-year journey in healthy vegan meal planning for her family and hundreds of others. She offers practical advice on successful meal planning, including the importance of batch cooking, how to use staple ingredients in versatile ways, and cooking mindfully to learn the patterns. She emphasize that while diversity is great, keeping to familiar forms and recipes makes cooking less complicated and more enjoyable. Interestingly, Brigitte remarks that summer cooking tends to be more involved due to the abundance of fresh produce.

I like the idea of just having 3-4 standards to base a host of meals from. So true about diversity; I return to the same, slightly modified as oil-free, Isa Moskowitz recipes all the time (over the course of 17 years of knowing her work). I am definitely more of a winter cook; I am drawn to the cold weather and wanting to be active in a warm room with many aromas when everything's dead outside! Thank you so much for your commitment to making eating at home a healthy (physically and mentally), economically sound habit!

2 years ago I went vegan it was a die or change my eating habits. As I became healthy again, went back to eating meat not as much as before but my problem is slowly coming back. I wish to embrace veganism for good but don't know how to stay in it. My fear is not to be able to learn meal nutrition

Thank you for dropping by. I'm glad you started to feel better and would be happy to help you figure out how how to make this sustainable for you in the long run. The nutrition itself really isn't hard to figure out but some of the habits can be more challenging to implement. Feel free to email me at hello (at) veganfamilykitchen (dot) com for a free 15-min consult and I can orient you to some resources.
