- Featured in this video is an oldie but goodie . This is a Hot Wheels 1/24 scale McLaren MP4-15 as driven by Mika Hakkinen (FIN) and teammate David Couthard (UK). This is a die-cast with plastic parts. This is a 2000 model and thus 24 years old. Consequently, some paint is peeling. Overall, it is a good model with decent detail, although lacking carbon fiber trim. It does roll and features front steering.
This one is gorgeous, very nice review. If im correct the mp4-15 had exhaust integrated in the rear diffuser at that time, therefore hard to distinguish and not sure if its represented well by hotwheels, also good to know that given the laws with tobacco advertising, west was replaced with the drivers name in a few grand prixs like mika on ur model.
Hi Patito. Thanks for the feedback. That would make sense. I thought that they were trying to sell their driver, as fans seem to pick favorite drivers in F1 and Nascar. I don't. It's all about the cars and racing. As for the car, I am truly surprised as I thought it was a BBurago, and a good one at that. I have seen 1/43 Hot Wheels like3 this one on Ebay.
I only like 1/64 and 1/43, I also have some 1/87 cars.
Watching my Onyx models I can see that they stopped to put the tobacco sponsors in 1991.
Im almost strictly 1/43. I did however recently buy a F1 1/18 by Spark. It will shock you of I ever get it.
Hot Wheels had the F1 license in the early 2000s, they also did a promotion with McDonald's, I have a couple of 1/64 F1 cars.
Surprised you remember much from back then. I can barely remember what I had for lunch yesterday.
@@markzebr6463 I'm 14, I wasn't in this world when they did that promotion, so, I can't remember it, but I learn a lot of stuff in the internet and then I can't forget it, so, yes, I have good memory, but I didn't remember it because I lived it, but because I saw people on the internet talking about that stuff
