Nearly every stompbox having an expression-pedal jack uses control voltages. In many instances, that jack can only control one parameter. But in a fair number of products, it can be used to control several different parameters, and in some cases, more than one parameter at once. The Chase Bliss pedals, and some others, allow the user to assign any parameter they want, in the direction they want, to control by an external CV. Here's a quick and dirty demo of a CV generator I made, using the Electric Druid One-Shot generator chip, controlling my Condor pedal. ruclips.net/video/ouqkQWhK5ZU/видео.html The little white box is intended to be something that sits on your pedalboard and you hot the momentary switch when you want a bit of modulation. What distinguishes the Again pedal is that it employs multiple CV input points such that various parameters can be controlled in different ways, rather than being all ganged to a single CV. So one jack could be directed by an envelope signal, another by an LFO, and another by a different LFO using a different waveform and frequency, and so on.
Wow the modulated feedback sound at around 13m is pretty amazing. Not aware of a pedal that can do that without additional CV control, maybe the Alexander Color Theory could by sequencing the delay mode? Gotta make a Zoia patch to do that in sync with the delay tempo, super cool.
You can send CV (0-5v I think) to any pedal that has an expression pedal input. Just need a 1/4" to 1/8" cable and you're good to go. I use the Korg SQ-1 to modulate parameters on the Malekko Scrutator and EQD Avalanche Run for example. Pretty sure you could do more complicated stuff with more advanced sequencers. Great video as always!
You totally missed the WMD Protostar which also has CV in and outs and you demoed it also with the dudes from WMD. I wonder how that delay sounds when CV'ed with an envelope control...
When you next come to Bristol come and play my Pittsburgh modular patch box filled with future Sound Systems modules, inc gristleizer You'll fuckin love it
Ha Ha! I have been into modular for 10 years and am moving into pedals and its just as expensive, pedal addiction, buying power, case etc Its all nutz of fun!
Sam Madden Yep! It can send CV via the control port, which can be configured to expression, midi, tap tempo, or CV. (At least, I know it can be configured to CV, and likely that means in or out, but I’d have to go read the manual to be sure.)
13:52 Dope. Sold. Fucking Pedals and Effects back on the good foot. The days of Nu Tube Screamers, Nordy Mute's and low key agro-condescension feel like forever ago. Thank the GODS!
I like that you guys were able to get the go pro directly in front of the pedal you are demoing in the wide shot. Well done boys! (Also, I’m an asshole). Keep up the good work. Seriously.
eurorack is so funny because exactly what you described. 300$ and up for every effect because they spend half of that putting holes in it for you to use for controls/voltage
CV On The Radio? I love that band!!
Seriously though, do TV On The Radio use that eurorack stuff? I could totally see them doing that

Is it safe to assume using a standard expression/CV jack on a pedal would just need 1/4" TRS cable with a stereo 1/8" adaptor to this?
You guys should get Lookmumnocomputer on for an interview about pedals and eurorack.
That dude's a mad genius! He's nutso but fuckin' brilliant.
Euro rack is expensive.? Look behind you.
Bro it’s super helpful to hear you play a bass line in the groove on loop while you fuck with the pedal. Thanks dudes
This is just what I needed after coming home from a long-ass day of work.
It seems like it’s been a minute since the last one. Y’all must’ve been hella busy. Thanks for the cool videos.
Juan was in a bicycling accident and has been recovering.
Ibanez (& Maxon) DMLI, DMLII, and DMLIII modulation Delays, 6 knobs, dry/ wet outputs, awesome vintage Japanese pedals! 😎🎸🤘🏻
Someone send these boys a MATHS

That's a pretty cool looking Squier guitar. What model is that?

They actually demoed it
Sam Madden lol. He said that.
@@polaris5554 LOL I totally read it wrong
Sounds a lot like the Clari(not) clone I built a few weeks ago... so cool!
The clarinot is dope. There are some crazy versions of it.
yo i was really hoping yall would jump on this. the cv options is sick, i wish more pedal companies would include it.
If your pedal has an LFO, it has a CV 😉
Try tapping the CV right off the Rate pot 🤯
Hey, great video as always. Sounded super dope with the bass especially. Thanks.

Whoa. Immediately can see this playing nice with Empress Zoia too...
Does the Zoia send CV out?
I couldn't find that, I thought it was all internal routing?

@@RobFlaxMusic okay, I'll have to check with Empress bit I guess that means I can't us it as a Midi controlled CV generator
Fast forward to the best bit at 17:21 :)
Thank you!
AH HELL YESSS my fave pedal nerds talking about probably my fave pedals
nice, this is great
keep sharing great video =D
thanks for this
lmao it’s not just me who calls them lawyers too then
nick and juan trigger my pleasure center
The Moogerfoogers also can be controlled with CV but they have 1/4” jacks
we need some new content.
Spacey as fuck! Cool. I like them.

Ugh. Dope
Fuck thats dope.
you don't have a dml10/20 in that room?! how?!
I like that you guys were able to get the go pro directly in front of the pedal you are demoing in the wide shot. Well done boys! (Also, I’m an asshole). Keep up the good work. Seriously.
The Twin Stags and the Again have the same knobs
whoa 13:56
Fucking rad review!
I miss the Mueller shirt.
WTF?!!! I want it. With synth cv out BOOM!
Viva Mexico
What the hell Squire is that?!
venus
@@mariorossipuzza thanks, yeah... I wound up tracking it down with the google machine.
Pretty obscure!
With the right cables an EHX 8-Step Program or a Goatkeeper could probably be interesting with this.
FUNCTIONSuponFUNCTIONSuponFUNCTIONS.
I miss Adventure Audio in the pedal game. Too bad.
on too-er
Some CV shit
tera mellow review bruh
full disclosure...i love weird tweakable effects, including this pedal....and I'm starting law school in a month #pedallawyer
