If you played a fetchland before copying brainstorm with Chandra, you could have shuffled once before the 2nd brainstorm resolved! Not being nitpicky or anything but watching you for years now has made me really detail oriented when it comes to lines of play in Magic, so I appreciate you tons, Luca!!!
Good point, although I think it still makes more sense to shuffle afterwards unless we have two fetches in hand. Otherwise we end up Brainstorm locked and there's even the chance of redrawing the same cards we just shuffled back.
Pro Tip: Hinata is a Spirit, so Geistlight Snare will usually get a discount for controlling a spirit and a discount for targeting, giving you a one mana Miscast that can counter any spell!
Ive been watching you for years and I wanna say thank you for keeping my love for mtg strong and for the great and decks you play and how you problem solve!
An easy way to think about the calculation of the mana cost of Crackle With Power is to represented in an equation where the original mana cost is 3*x+2, where x is the number of targets. Then we can substract the discount of the number of targets from the total which is represneted by x. So the final equation would be 3*x+2-x = 2x+2. So the final cost with the discount amount to 2 times the number of targets +2, and the series for the first five targets are 4, 6, 8, 10, 12, ..., etc.
I started following this channel around the time you posted your Hinata Standard deck. Thanks for the wonderful entertainment throughout these tough years!
The math required to cast crackle befuddles me every time haha! It shouldnt be so hard but it is! love your commentary through that bit, would love to see it without the jump cuts too haha
Not sure if it helps, but I just turn it into a little baby algebra equation - cost = 2 + 3x (x -> number of targets). With Hinata, it's 2 + 2x, ezpz. This just happens to trigger the part of my brain that still remembers 6th grade math, so it works much faster lmao
I imagine if your opponent is tapped out and they are just out of reach from a lethal Crackle with Power, you can target your own Hinata to push the damage over the edge.
At 27:02, you could've played Teferi, drawn with it, and untapped two lands. Then in the opponent's upkeep, use the Heliod's Intervention since the tax from the ECD would've been gone!
32:29 if I wasn't already subscribed to the channel this would have def won me over 😂 Great stuff as always, I have been wanting to craft a Hinata brawl deck for some time now so thank you for this!
That last match was probably my most favorite game to watch so far. It was so close at so many points, yet you limped through it until you clutched. It was so good. Peak magic. Was thinking for a while between building ovika or hinata (on paper, not arena), and Damm has this video tipped the scales in one direction
I have a Hinata EDH deck. It's in a box, way, way, WAY in the back of the shelf. I talk about it, but I never use it because the collective grunts at the mere mention of it are unbearable. I just have a Hinata deck.
Hinata just takes away one of the "X" in the casting cost of crackle as long as you have the required number of targets. 4 - 6 - 8 - 10 instead of the normal 5 - 8 - 11 - 14
16:50 Taking out Delina as the third target instead of Domri the planeswalker is an assured victory on that turn. Yes, the opponent conceded anyway but just something to think about.
I think that's the reason as well, and even if I don't understand that decision I fully respect it. However, this is different: Hinata + Snowborn Simulacra is not just a good combo, it's literally THE combo the card is known for. And it's strong, sure, but it's also a ridiculously janky looking effect, to the point you can turn the whole match into a living meme if you feel like it, and sometimes even opponents seem to enjoy, funnily enough. To each their own, I guess.
I notice that you don't usually include Wayfarers Bauble in non green decks, which I always thought would be an auto include for any deck that wants ramp. Is that card just not as good as I thought it was?
Since getting Irencrag it doesn’t feel as needed anymore, but it’s always an option. I’ve been liking the 3 mana artifacts with utility a bit more too.
"figuring out crackle with power usually requires a phd in math" LMAO this was unexpected
I find the easiest way for me to think about crackle with power + hinata is to just pretend it costs XXRR instead of XXXRR
51:55 "Who's the soldier deck now?" Might be a new all-time favorite quote
The following events are hilarious as well… ‘just like it says’
Hinata is truly the most innocent war criminal

Glad I'm not the only one that plugs in a guess on X for Crackle
11:10 As someone with a Hinata commander deck with other ways to also reduce cost of spells, you are not wrong about the PhD being needed.
I was that Captain Sissay player, it was an honor to get bodied by you! That deck is pretty feast or famine, either you win hard or lose hard :)
GGWP!
Nice playing you!
52:01 The opponent, after all his troops betrayed him: "So you have chosen death."
PhD. in math, i felt that in my soul

Indeed, although in this case we still didn't have enough mana.
@@LegenVD Of course, just a hypothetical.
Your thumbnail made me insta- laugh. You're the best, keep making us happy, if it makes you happy ❤
I'm so glad!
This deck is just like algebra: I keep trying to find the X's xD

Good point!
Kirin Me Softly better title
i was waiting for mega combo with snowborn simulacra
32:29 if I wasn't already subscribed to the channel this would have def won me over 😂 Great stuff as always, I have been wanting to craft a Hinata brawl deck for some time now so thank you for this!
Cool deck. Nice collection of fun games. Thanks.

Who's the Soldier Deck Now?
: Legend
Legendary!!!
What a great last game! Really fun.
Kirin in the name of
28:15 I love watching the “oops” and “good game” spammers rage quit
"Who's the soldier deck now" playing a deck that actively commits war crimes
I love it.

4 - 6 - 8 - 10 instead of the normal
5 - 8 - 11 - 14
Yeah, just think 2x + double red
rather than 3x + double red.
Lowkey is one of the best spellslinger Commander for me, She makes janky or inefficient spells shines
At 42:20 you could have played the Midnight Clock and still kept up Counterspell if tapping Irencrag instead of all three lands
16:50 Taking out Delina as the third target instead of Domri the planeswalker is an assured victory on that turn. Yes, the opponent conceded anyway but just something to think about.
In the great words of a great robot, "The 'X' makes it sound cool."
No snowborn simulacra?? Busted card with Hinata. Can copy everything on board for 2 mana
I think LegenVD has been staying away from digital only cards

Hinata is a praetor. It's a tax on your opponent and a benefit for you. Just like every one of the praetors
The last game was hilariois

Every time I use crackle I do the exact same thing and hope it works out.
Hinata + Crackle With Power provides electric amounts of value

Stay golden pony boy.
I saw the yoink amd my first thought was....is this a florida man deck? ( iykyk)
🎶 Hakuna Hinata
Classic mono white player, having wraths in their aggro deck 😂
Mutating and copying her is fun as well ^^
First?
Im done with this Channel, why dont you have the game mode in the title? Who wants to watch Brawl?
You should give it a shot, Brawl is the best format Arena has to offer!
Does anyone else the video quality on this video locked to 360p? really want to watch but it's hard to read card text 🫠
