Soccer Mommy is the indie bedroom pop project of Sophie Allison. On bandcamp she refers to her music as "chill but kinda sad" which is an apt but reductive version of the personal, mournful collection of tunes Allison has been putting online since 2015. Allison has pushed back on the "sad girl" descriptor in the past year, directing listeners to 2017's Collection to highlight the progression from mopey lo-fi stories into the exciting full band project she now fronts. That guitar reverb, the vibes of the sound, the voice, the drummer, the bass sound: all makes feel warm the heart of the listener. Music is what care.

This band is awesome, the lyrics have a bit of maturity to them and yet there’s such a youthful vibe. I can’t quite place it but they have a vibe that makes me nostalgic about the alternative music that was out in the early 200’0s.

That last performance....That was great. That guitar playing was flawless. It sounds easier than it actually is.
It's not so much about _what_ you play, but _how_ you play what you do play. Control, inflection, timing. That gives the music depth, when done right (or well), as imo she has done here.

Its a phantom teardrop, based off the old vox teardrop. Not to be confused with the old vox phantom, which had that angular coffin shape. And agreed, they sick af!
