The overclocking for 16 pin cards should be higher. The cards are both running into the maximum wattage they can get supplied through the cord and slot combined. Plus NVDA also put a wattage draw limit on the cards themselves. None of them have managed to get a single tick over 220 across any review.
Not sure about that. I have the Gigabyte Gaming OC which does have the 16-pin connector and an insanely high max power target (320 W, IIRC). Even with my most ambitious overclock so far (~3000 MHz on the GPU, +1000MHz on VRAM) and power limit set to max, the card never draws more than 240 - 245 Watts on my system. I found a couple of reviews that report the same thing for this particular card. My card will constantly hit the voltage-limit at these settings.
Upgraded from a 3070 to a 4070 recently, and now I'm wondering if I have too much of a CPU bottleneck with my i5-12600K. That said: The card performs admirably. What I will say though is that compared to previous gens, the generational uplift (or lack thereof) is a bit disappointing. My 3070 for example was faster than a 2080 Ti while the 4070 just barely surpasses the 3080 (depending on the benchmark). I haven't pushed it beyond 3000 MHz - but close to it - and it runs stable at those speeds. And all that while drawing, basically, the same amount of power as my 3070 did. At stock or with both cards running undervolted and midly overclocked, the 4070 is actually quite a bit more frugal than the 3070. I did upgrade to a bequiet! Straight Power 12, 750W ATX 3.0 PSU (my Gigabyte Gaming OC does have the new connector), but even with my previous Seasonic Focus+ Gold 550W, both cards ran flawlessly. So unless you have a more powerful CPU than I do, I'm not even sure you'd really need more power than 550/600W for the 4070. Even Techpowerup seems to agree on that, since they do recommend a 550W PSU for the 4070. Only reasons I upgraded were to get a proper 16-pin connector, to have some headroom for a CPU-upgrade and because I run a lot of peripherals on this PC for VR flight-simming.

do you NEED a laptop? if you have to have a laptop your price range is going to be somewhat limited. If you can live with a desktop then a 6800xt-6950xt is going to be more powerful than it's mobile counterpart. The mobile counterparts are always weaker because of power restraints. Also, the GPU matters for content creation since more software offerings are optimized for Nvidia gpu's and only a few for AMD.
you can't compare a desktop GPU with its PC GPU variant they are way apart. The spec you mention should be fine for content creation the price seems a little high but not far off
4070 is actually replacing the RTX 3080 12gb version for a 200£ lesser MSRP and 200w in place of 320W and not the 499£ 3070. 3080 10gb was 699£ and 3070 ti was 599£ on launch MSRP . @@pdmerritt Thank you for your help friend :)
@@trickerdgaming Just a little side note I've used a few EVGA PSU's in builds they are a really good piece of kit , all you need really is a Bronze+ or higher ATX PSU 600 watt +. ( Recommended is 650w ATX 2.0) so you have additional headroom of a least 350 watts the Gold Standard is related to the efficiency of the PSU ie quality of components loss of power due to heat etc and is not as critical. I would also recommend watching other reviews this channel is more about selling the item as opposed to giving proper subjective facts. Independent reviewers are far more likely to do so, not the product retailer, this review is possibly one of the worst I've ever seen, trust me I've watched a lot
i boosted my msi trio increasing core clock with 165 and 250 the memory getting 19081 1440p timespy
If you still have the trio than try out +145 and +1000.
Mine does fine with those settings but after 1100mhz on mem you get diminishing results.
@@PhysPushscale Got me a new 4070 ti super from asus. The msi had problems with a fan. But ty for the advice anyway. Maybe someone else will try it.
I'm freaking confused for the last couple of weeks. I'm willing to buy Legion 7 Gen 7 AMD Advantage. This Laptop has Ryzen 9 6900HX, Radeon RX6850M XT 12 GB GDDR6 Graphic card, 32 gb DDR5 ram, 2 TB SSD. It now costs around 2180 USD (previously it was 2800). Will it be better than 3070ti? or will this gpu equally perform with RTX 4070? And will it be good enough for content creation? And Is it worth for the price? please give me a reply.
do you NEED a laptop? if you have to have a laptop your price range is going to be somewhat limited.
The spec you mention should be fine for content creation the price seems a little high but not far off
theres a massive difference between a laptop gpu and an desktop gpu
Test them in games that use 16gb vram
using 12gb vram in a game that uses 16gb of vram? are you ok son of a biatch?!
I think i judged the market right.
Another BAFTA level performance from Pac-man.... The comments below.... These people need to start squatting heavy twice weekly....

3080Ti better than 3090?
Kinda SuS
4070 is actually replacing the RTX 3080 12gb version for a 200£ lesser MSRP and 200w in place of 320W and not the 499£ 3070. 3080 10gb was 699£ and 3070 ti was 599£ on launch MSRP . For a newer technology RTX 4070 was a disappointment as It should have competed with 3080 Ti performance and should have had a 16gb vRAM and 220 w TDP for current asking price. May be Nvidia will release a version of it later on with an added premium. No doubt that It is good chip, but not a ground breaking Graphics card due to the restricted vRAM capacity.
Get an AMD gpu for same price better deal
Yeah but it’s a AMD gpu… no one wants one of those
@@JoeWayne84 You do not want one of those.
@@JoeWayne84 What’s wrong with AMD?
Amd cards are power hungry. Not even close to performance per watt as Nvidia
@@storiesold3270 Its 2023 not year 2011
What is the Point to show the overclocked card with 80% fan?😅 There is absolutly no Point of Referenc🤣
😅 4070 just another Rubbiiiish item. When 2024 comes with more Raytraching= 4070 can..throooow away again. 5-19% weaker than 3080
12 vram not a good idea
Good content but horrible voice. You can just speak a bit louder and it'll sound just fine
😂 4070 Tuf only 8 pin..low power..use. how to OC.? 😅wasting all our money again
Get a different 4070 with 2 8 pins
if it had 800 pins it would still have no meaningful overclock with such a rigid power limiter
I don't have time for this...
Wow a benchmark or review or whatever you want to call this video without any gaming data????!!! 🤬 lame 😒
😅 4070 with so narrow 192 piping mem..bus..! How to play game ..! So laggy. Sorry not interested in 4070 anymore. & its way to weak in gaming 2k vs 3080..
the 4070ti runs pretty much neck and neck with the 3090 using the 192bit bus....so it's DEFINITELY not holding the 4070 back. It's also only slower than the 3080 in some games...not all and even when it's slower it is a very small margin. I'm not the type to really care but I hate when people spread misinformation.
клоун!
@@pdmerritt You are not helping you are adding to the confusion and misinformation . 320bit bus v 192bit MATTERS ,what the 4070ti can achieve is mostly irrelevant to 4070 there are far too many variables just to link them together in such a manner. PC world describe the 4070ti as "Hobbled and stagnant" with unacceptable performance at higher resolutions and wildly over priced, their review is fairly typical to most reviews on this card. The 4070 is also over priced it does not stand out as much some of the rest of the 4000 series purely due to those GPUs being even more wildly over priced, as a customer and like many others this anti consumer approach is angering, its not because the 4070 is a bad card, its not but Nvideas marketing and costing is bad and their pre launch claims don't hold up to scrutiny their promise of affordable 4k gaming has gone into reverse with 1080 many benchmarking reviews show this clearly. This particular review is pure sales driven cherry picking, actual gaming performance barely gets a mention, its a joke. Until my current GTX 980ti dies I'm no way buying into this debacle, its not just the cost its more principle lets hope the poor sales and better competition drive prices down.
@@simon3225 sorry, I don't get what you're saying here.
@@pdmerritt a 192bit bus on a 4070 will be holding it back . What a 4070ti can do compared to a 3090 is largely irrelevant to a 4070's performance. What's not to understand ?
