This try of fixing position of Larynx was only instructed by a Maharashtrian aged voice trainer Mr.Vaze as an exceptional instructor long years before and next I got support from U now which is found very beneficial to raise voice at high pitch as got practical experience but to practice that is a must that I agree.. As a lay person, listening to casual singers, the BIGGEST mistake I see most often is to hurry the song along where the actual tempo gives a lot of space for emphasis. Maybe lack of confidence or lack of understanding of rhythm. it kills all flourishes and resonance and makes the song sound flat like their heart isn't really in it. You can skip the musical parts when singing casually, but the parts you do sing must be sung properly without looking like you're in a hurry to finish. If you're feeling awkward, just sing a line or two and stop, but sing them with the space they need. All songs need it, but in partiular this is the fastest way to also kill Kishore Kumar songs which can seem rather easy to copy (think o sathi re), but he makes simple tunes work because of the way he sings. Don't give 're' and 'jeena' the space they need, the most pitch perfect person will still kill his songs and sounds ... odd, like giving up prematurely. or even like "e dil-e-nadan" which is literally composed around silences in places. You don't feel confident to pause or hang around on a note for as long as the song needs, avoid such songs, which can sound deceptively simple in tune.

Many people do this mistake I have noticed this when I used to play ANTAKSHRI in my school times with non singers or people who don't have sense of rhythm at all they will just sing songs without even emphasis on words and timing so just to match them as mostly it was group task you would also do the same 🤣
