might get this game, I have some questions though 1. is it like risk where you have to leave at least 1 unit in the land you're moving from? 2. are you able to capture the sea port things 3.can air force units capture lands/defend them? thanks
Hayden Gibbons 1. It's like risk in the sense of capturing zones but no you don't have to leave any units in a zone to keep it 2. No as your "sea ports" are you industrial complexes which can be captured (side note in another version of A&A there are navel bases) 3. No all air units MUST leave the zone hand have enough movement points to land in a friendly territory or air craft (even if you capture the zone) so if a plane flies from Germany and uses 3 movement points on the last one it must land in a friendly zone if it can't then that's an illegal move Side note this version of Axis & Allies plays very differently to the others as well as there being less rules, if you get this game an like it I recommend getting the 1942 version! What the video fails to mention is the game comes with two set of cards and the ones with 1942 you use for a different version of axis & allies which adds a new. Ship and a new unit and bombing raids as well as more flexibility for complexes :) I hope this helps! Feel free to let me know if you need anymore help with anything!

Thank you very much for this great explanation. It cleared up a lot of questions we had and helped to fix a lot of goofs we made due to our misunderstanding the rules.
I git this version the other day. Just to add to my ever growing collection of A&A games. But bot sure if i will ooen up this version. Though the addition of a combat unit list on the back of the setup cards is a nice new touch. 👍
Where did you get those British transports/destroyers from, because the game I got didn't have enough pieces even to do the initial setup. It's ridiculous.
Phase 2: Zombies Attack: "For each zombie unit in a territory you control, roll one of the special zombie dice. On a result of "D" you remove one of your combat units from that territory. " What happens on a result of "A" with the special zombie dice?
I could see this doing a lot to combat the "infantry meatshield" mentality classic A&A has. With infantry as cheap as they are it's so easy to have them take all the hits for you. But with growing zombie hoards? Maybe not so much...
Great video, I'm actually disappointed with Axis & Allies. I wish they would've came out with something else. Over the years we've all heard Axis & Allies needs to come out with anything on the Eastern Front, North Africa, Sea Lion, Midway, Coral Sea just to name a few. They must be trying to capitalize in the zombie thing??? I can see diehard fans wanting something else and spending money on the ones I've mentioned. Instead we got zombies this time. I'll be skipping this one and saving my money. I can only hope they get back on track. 😥
What happens after one side in a battle is completely wiped out but there are still zombies, does the remaining power fight the rest of the zombies or something else, it’s prob simple but I just don’t get it lol
Before the game came out I thought this is a terrible idea of putting zombies into the A&A franchise because it's just not the style of A&A. I might change my mind now and even probably try it out since you should not judge a thing before you actually try it.
Speaking as someone that still has his old Milton Bradley copy and used to transcribe what happened in games for fun... It looks to me like this version may have found a way to mitigate the problem of infantry being too powerful defensively. That said, my prejudice* against "event card" mechanics may keep this game off my radar. *It's a mild prejudice, but a prejudice nonetheless. It's why Fortress America is my least favorite game of the old MB series, for example, and it's the one expansion module for Kingsburg I actively dislike. I can tolerate the variant in Dead Of Winter, though, even though I still find it flawed.
@@Some_Guy_In_Ohio I got the old Fortress America, SHOGUN+ A&A games (as well as their new millennial versions) myself! Since they're entrenched, I always thought infantry defended just perfectly but I won't be playing this Z version either!!!

Start with OG axis & allies. It's a little simpler and if you like that you'll most likely love the others. There's over a dozen different versions I believe.
That's probably because (to the best of my knowledge) he's a much more experienced GM and so is better at presenting more complex games to beginners. I suspect he also has more experience with the genre.
Guys, experience hardly matters when they're just reading a script. I'd assume (but could be wrong) the same person writes the script regardless of who's presenting.
It wouldn't surprise me if they wrote their own scripts for this, but I could be wrong. I'd expect to see more of a difference in the gameplay though since that's essentially unscripted (even if some parts may be re-shot, making it appear more scripted due to not being as spontaneous).
Don't take this the wrong way, Ivan, but I really hope Becca never starts cutting her hair & gluing it to her cheeks. I don't think she could pull it off.. The one bit of the zombie part of this that doesn't make sense to me is that the zombies can just pop up anywhere. It seems like it'd make more sense if the zombies got assigned a few starting positions & then spread from there instead, with the cards perhaps determining direction or growth rather than a new outbreak nowhere near the last one.
And what exactly balanced the Axis against the Rest? They have Less IPC, Less Territory, and as far as i can see, also less start Units.... Whats the Balance of the Game?
@@mbras9176 - My precious Nazi's? Dude wtf?!? My problem with this stupid game is the Zombies. You are projecting some kind of bs onto me. Millennial, right?
German gets first turn over the UK and Japan gets the first turn over the US. Plus, A&A starts with Germany firmly in control of Europe and the UK short on transports. Finally, Germany starts with more armor that they can concentrate at running over Russia. A swift strike claiming lots of territory in the first turn can result in the Axis establishing themselves and crippling Russia.
