I just bought the Longines Hydroconquest ceramic bezel Gray on Gray; it's a gorgeous watch. I could't be happier. Every where I go, I get compliments on it. I have nick name it "The Longines Gandalf".
Got a Longines Hyrdoconq ceramic in black lined up, looked at it last week and it's by far the most classy and flexible of these options and the aquis.
I have the TAG calibre 5 with the smooth black face and funky logo. Bought in new in 2013. Love it. Never really noticed the logo until you mentioned it.
I just bought a Longines hydroconquest from italy it’s amazing watch and I have put it in a comparison with Omega & Breitling but for me it’s the better choice
The Ceramic Aquaracer Cal5 you reviewed last year is the winner, hands down at that price range. Its a brilliant watch: I've seen some in person NOS close out brand new 1300-1500 unworn.
Omega, Tag, Longines they all have their own exclusive features and they all were beautiful dive watches, but as long as I have a Seiko save the ocean 🐢 turtle on my wrist , these beauties can't made my mind changed.😀

@@jeffdolgin7436 I did not mention anything about quality or independency,I would better pay for a bit lower quality but robust movement and esthetically nice design, than 1700£ for independency and quality ,which is pretty same. I have Oris in my collection ( it was a gift) but personally never would bought myself.
I would say the Aquaracer Calibre 5 too, It looks really sharp and modern especially in the 41mm size. The 43mm looks a litte unbalanced in my opinion. I took no notice of the Tag haters when I purchased mine on the bracelet and I'm glad I did as it's one of my favourite watches. If you can pick it up for around £1000/$1000 it would be an awesome buy!
Love the looks of the Longines Hydroconquest. They also released the two tone models I think in 2021 some with gold and others with rose gold. I am currently saving up for the Blue and gold 41 or 43mm. It is such a beautiful "dressy" diver watch.
Bruce, you are one of the last Tag supporter out there! I think you're right: the Tag is a solid watch and a good choice for the right price (for sure not for the MSRP)
Yep, I bought a rare TAG Heuer Aquaracer 500M Calibre 7, and I love it. I posted a video of it because not a single video of that model was on RUclips. I wear it all the time and I don't get the way some people talk about TAG. Like you said, the prices may be a little higher than they're worth, so if you can pay a bit less, there's nothing left to criticize. I bought new (grey market) at about an $800 discount.
The Hydorconquest in blue is awesome and cheap by comparison! I was blown away om how fast in sells. A day on display and its sold. Pre bookings! color is simillar to the DS Action from Certina. Cool.
Just bought the longines today on a stainless bracelet. Does anyone know where i can buy the rubber strap separately? Or can recommend me a good one for when i go on my holidays? Beautiful beautiful watch btw, feels far more expensive then it is. The grey just catches the light so perfect, i cant stop looking at it.
Longines Hydroconquest Chronograph automatic, it has the Valjoux 7750 Column Wheel movement. I would say this beats them all on your list. A very solid and good look and feel watch.
I have the "old" Hydro with the L619/888 movement, really solid and good looking watch in my opinion especially on the wrist, really happy with that timepiece.
If I had to spend my money and choose from the three choices, I wouldn’t, I’d save up a bit more and get the Omega SMP 300, previous version or even the one prior without the ceramic bezel. Those are going for around $2000. Or if you don’t mind quartz, the GS Quartz SBGX061 has an MSRP of $2300, they can be picked up I’m sure for around $1500 on the preowned market. Such an awesome everyday watch. JMO, thanks again for a great vid!
Longines makes a nice watch for the price,I got my Hydroconquest for a few years now and beat the crap out of it.I bought mine from them directly ..pre ceramic model

The Captain Cook R32500305 is a good looking watch. I particularly like the limited edition 'Ghost Captain' from Rake & Revolution. Love the gray ceramic bezel.
I've actually tried the new longines hydro in the boutique in Sydney a couple of weeks ago. Very nice piece but ended up going with the new seamaster 300m in blue.
I’m impressed with the automatic movements that the SWATCH Group is coming out with. I bought a Tissot PR100 with the Powermatic 80 COSC movement, and while it doesn’t speak to me like my SARB035, it’s a step above the 6R15 movement.
Ive owned a Seamaster Bond Chronograph automatic for over 13 years. Ive just purchased the Seamaster Bond Quartz version 2nd hand. And I can honestly say I love them both. With Quartz you dont have to worry about the thing losing or gaining time, its far more accurate, where as the automatic has a better tick but is far heavier on the wrist (i.e. the automatic is not so good for casual use).
Got sick of a watch because of the movement… that keeps time to +\- 6 seconds a year, doesn’t need to be serviced every 5 years, doesn’t have to have date/time reset after not wearing it for a week. Ok. Had my seamaster quartz for 20+ years and it’s still rocking. To each their own.
I have it and this watch (2019) is excellent. Never off my wrist. Cannot find fault in any way with it. If you are worried about scratching it, don't be its very robust. Cost £1160 in UK. I would have paid more for this watch tbh. I have always liked Longines look and style and i can honestly say i would recommend this watch to anyone who wants a quality automatic watch. Its worth every penny. I'm looking to get an automatic dress watch next and Longines will be the first i will look at. I wanted a watch for every day use and this watch is ideal. I prefer this over a similar Tag and Omega, Hamilton or Oris any day.

For the newest Longines Hydroconquest, there is a USA limited edition with a very similar design and ceramic bezel. It was released several months ago. I saw it in person and it looks pretty! I'm waiting for the non-limited edition models as well but they are taking forever. In addition, if the price is going to be $1600, I'm not sure if I would consider buying a Longines at that price point. It's an upgrade from the previous models for sure but as you shared at a previous video, there are a lot of great alternatives if you save and add a few hundreds more from $1600
I owned that TAG Heuer! Great watch, indeed I got it with 40% discount. The Longines, I saw it couple of months ago. I even tried it. It's an ok watch, but the bracelet, compared to Tag, look cheap...
I’d also suggest the Christopher Ward C60 trident pro. Every bit as well made as the Omega, cases made by the same place who supply Tudor, 600m water resistance and way under £1000
nice recommendations. was thinking about buying the new hydro conquest. But suddenly my friends asked me "are you planning to buy an ice watch?" it hits me hard.
I would recommend the Oris Aquis, you can get it new for $1500. I compared it to a Tag before buying, I thought it was a much better finished, and the design so much sleeker then the Tag, which came across kind of clunky. I like the Longines, except the crown, and crown guards look a little severe and out of balance, at least in photos
I thought you were the typical wat h reviewer that hates tags.. I’m considering buying my first TAG Heuer... I just stumbled across this Video (and your Channel) and was curious about what you have to say about this because i was in a similar Situation. I don't know where you live (probably US?) but in my Country (Austria) there is no Problem to get the Longines from Basel 2018. Around two or three weeks ago i went to an authorised watch Dealer in my City and let them Order the Longines and last week i could get it from them without a Problem. I have to say it is a beautiful watch and I'm happy that i could get it.

@@Ferien7 , maybe he can find it used. The Seamaster is pretty much the same price for the quartz as the auto Aquaracer. So price wise it is apples to apples.
I finally got take a look at the Longines in person and my god its gorgeous. They fixed everything I hated, feels amazing and the ceramic just pops. Its high on my list, but the only downer is that they didn't make a 39mm version. I was also looking at the ML Aikon which is also coming out in 39mm this month.
I just bought a Raymond Weil Freelancer Diver, those things are sensational value and with the most over engineered and versatile bracelet I've seen anywhere near the price. Beats the Tag easily
I'd get the Longines. Quartz is a no-no for me. Tag is a very respectable name, but Longines has that little bit of added class and prestige that Tag lacks. But if you're a sporty guy, get the Tag.
Marathon GSAR is the real deal: Used by US/ NATO armed forces, ETA movement, Tritium tubes, great rubber strap, etc. You can get the PVD version for under $1,500 or the steel version for even less money. I also own the Longines Legend Diver (no date) and it’s hard to decide which one I like better.
I have the longines the blue one with the metal strap. It's an amazing watch. Really love it. Would have preferred the blue rubber strap though as the metal one gets alot of scratches. One thing that I dont like about this watch Is the lume. It does not stay for long.
@@vitox7448 the lume fades away really soon but that is the only downside of this watch. apart from that i think it is a really good watch at the price point
For $1500 you can get a used Speedmaster Reduced - just make sure it has been serviced first...I never really think about Tag but you raise good point Bruce, they are over priced, so if you can get one for $1500 it is a good buy. Thank you for another great video Bruce :)
I don't understand how people are saying the Aquaracer price drops on secondary market..........12 or 13 hundreds ? You will just find Quartz at that price or a really used automatic one. Just checked on chrono 24, prices are super high for auto aquaracer.....
So, two months later, what is the final choice? Personnaly, I don't like the Tag. I don't like the bezel design. But this is my very own opinion. Because for the price, the both, the HC and the AR give a luxurious feeling to the owner. But for the same price, you can get a true diver's watch, designed to dive. The new Mido Ocean Star Diver 600m. But indeed, the watch looks less luxurious and looks more "Comex worker". And there are some annoying details. For example, what is the point to engrave "HELIUM VALVE" on the case? But a great ... Deep diver COSC watch for 1500$! Quartz. I think it's nice on digital watch. Like the Casio Square. I hate it on analogic dial.

Just bought the grey ceramic bezel automatic hydroconquest chronograph watch and let me say iam not disappointed what a watch for £1890
I just stumbled across this Video (and your Channel) and was curious about what you have to say about this because i was in a similar Situation.
I have Longines from Bazel with ceramic bazel.Best watch!!!!!!!
Just the Bracelet let’s it down
What about a Tissot ? True Swiss manufacturer, good automatic movement (obviously), fair prices.
A seastar would be a good option if Vincent wanted to buy under budget
Owned the seastar with blue gradient dial. Id they used a engraved ceramic insert instead and the rubber strap didnt stink like garbage I would've kept.
Omega diver for 1500?
I think the Tag is the best option of the 3 because it falls in between with status but gives you mechanical.
Venus Dee yes but for what price? Grey market is $1700 for 41mm auto aquaracer
Can someone tell me the difference with the longines new and old model?
I believe the older model had a metal bezel. New is ceramic
I just bought a Raymond Weil Freelancer Diver, those things are sensational value and with the most over engineered and versatile bracelet I've seen anywhere near the price. Beats the Tag easily
That jubilee bracelet is pretty awesome!
Kebir Anand what abouthe the lumineta? What is your toughts now after some time of wear this HC?
Omg, it’s Omega
