Sounds great! Can't wait to start on mine!
Just getting my 2004 LX Sport squared away. Freakin' thing is awesome!
Civilian or former cop model?
Sounded almost like the classic LTD ones' 5.0L with that exhaust.
How is low rpm driveability?
Can you do some fly by videos and some exhaust revving outside of the car
I will work on this
@@mattumber5646 thankyou brother 👍🏽
Did you get the kooks headers custom made? Or how did you make them fit? I need headers for my vic so bad
Stainless Works Headers, OBX, Maximizer's longtubes are available too..
Are these cams relatively safe when it comes to reliability for daily driving. Thinking about putting cams in my 07 marquis, just not sure which ones and if it’s worth doing if it drastically reduces longevity to the engine. It will be the daily, just want some more power out of this behemoth saloon car
If you're installing cams and want the motor to last, you should look into getting the heads rebuilt as well. Performance valve springs/valve seals+adjusters. The main bearings and piston rings aren't common failure points on these motors, so as long as you keep on top of oil changes you should be fine.
If you worried about that many things just leave your car stock
@@mattumber5646 thanks for taking time to reply and inform me about other mods to support the cams
@@crownvictorialifestyle4421 nah buddy you got it wrong, just wanted to know what else could be done to keep the motor safe when installing cams
@@DespisiveDerp start with longtube headers bro, n bolt ons, then, if you want more, cams, TrickFlow 38cc heads n matching cams or just avoid all the lil power adders n get boost, turbo, s/c, or nos n done..
Sounds good
wich is the size of your tires? they are from the mustang right?
Yessir, 2012 GT premium 255/45/19
Do you tune it with the stock
air mass air flow sensor
Are cams worth the effort if everything else is stock?
No,,,go and do all the easier and cheaper mods 1st
@@tomcatmcgillicutty6913 Agreed. I did this because the heads had to come off to upgrade to 8-thread spark plug wells. I blew out 8 spark plugs and 3 inserts and had had enough. But I wasn't gonna get all this work done w/o getting a cam in it.
Goals! 👍🏻Hey question. If you do cams on a stock 4.6, do you have to trailer it to a shop to be dyno tuned or can you drive it that way? I've always assumed it would need to be trailered and tuned right away.
Depends on the size of the cam.. Comp Cams says their stage 1 n 2 work fine without a dyno tune but it's always best to be tuned.. Small cams can be driven to the shop, bigger lift cams require additional mods to work n is best you know before going too big..
Sounds Hella good my man. What's the next step now??
Gracias. Good question! Brake upgrades will need to go before more power, so that will be next. The brakes are hilariously bad @ highway speed! :-p
Yes do it up keep the vids coming my dude!
@Matt Umber You aren't lying. They're ok for every day regular driving. But no way you would want to track it that way.
I'm selling some turbo stuff for a 4.6 2v if you are curious of what lmk
What gears do you have in your rearend?
These are factory (for LX Sports) 3.27
@@mattumber5646 ok is that the best gears for those cams because I have 3.27s in my 06 P71
@@krownvikkhris3004 pulls really nice on the highway in 3rd, it's a good match
@@mattumber5646 ok so your car shifts at 6000rpm or 6200rpm
@@krownvikkhris3004 3rd gear with 3.27 will take you to 130+ mph in 3rd it’s beautiful
What type of horse does it make
How tall is your tire?
Exhaust set-up? Sounds really good
Kooks catless longtube headers w/ x-pipe
2.5" from the collector back
Flowmaster 40 series dumped @ the axle
That was what 6400-6800rpm?
What year is the vic? I was looking but couldn’t find anything
03 LX Sport
where does the exhaust exit i want this same sound?
They are turndowns just before the axle. I have 2.5" stainless piping for a GM c-body that I'll be fitting in the near future but the Longtubes + X-pipe + Flowmaster 40s combo is hard to beat!
@@mattumber5646 hows the drone im dailying mine?\\ update just got this exact exhaust for mine and it sounds prefect no drone and no clapping noise!!!
Not trying copy you but i love this set up can i get the specs on the cam throttle body

Also any rear end work done on this car yet?
Moser 31-spline axles, factory 3.27's, a Detroit Truetrac, which I recommend over posi. Its pretty predictable when it cuts loose.
pi car?
how much power?
300 HP/339TQ @ crank
Wow
@@mattumber5646 from 240 that great what it the rw tourq are you running positive traction
@@mattumber5646 full exhaust heads cam and a tune and it only 300 crank hp something doesn't seem right there 300 wheel ya but not 300 crank
@@tylerrichards1327 yea I was bout to say
How much u gain in hp
61hp over stock
Why are the numbers so difficult?
Is that a stock block
totally stock, 175k now :-o
posts a dyno vid and doesnt say the numbers. That shit is annoying. Why even make the post?
I updated the description, which I would've done even without the profanity! I made the post to share it for enjoyment - goal wasn't big numbers, it was to make it better. I thought it sounded cool so I posted it publicly :-p
@@mattumber5646 makes a dyno video that deals with whp... and you post crank hp numbers... lol wtf?
how is the drivabilty and idle ?
