Currently I do not have such tutorial. But can you tell me a bit about how you want to remove certain parts? By taking some sample from here and there or by removing some music beneath it?
@@MasterEditor5 Yes I will gladly explain, I have a couple of songs that I just want the beginning, just the start of the song which can be a few seconds, I would like to cut just that part of the song export that using Audacity into a sampler which is already in my music software serato, that sample will be used whenever I am Dj in, I do hope its explained a bit better. @@christopherheflin8843 You can hang some blankets around you as a temporary measure. Audacity does not have any effect of filtering those out satisfactorily.

Yes Audacity supports multitrack recording. You have to enable Overdub to listen to the first track while recording the second. You can find overdub option in Transport->Transport Options menu
I own the best of Mac and Window systems, configured with best of DAWs available on this globe, nevertheless, audacity has always been my weakness all along due to its user-friendliness and simplicity. Of Late, after upgrading to Macbook Pro M1 Monterey version, I'm ditched. The cursor jumps so weirdly so that the software look, as if, outdated. Did every trick what google suggested (like changing resolution etc ..) but nothing worked. Requesting the Audacity team to kindly look into it.
Which Audacity you have installed? Audacity 3.2.1 x86_64 or Audacity 3.2.1 ARM64? For M1/M2 Audacity 3.2.1 ARM64 is the dedicated one. I do not own M1/M2 at this point so not sure if the dedicated installation file solves the cursor issue.

Hi. I am starting a podcast channel and I am definitely going to use Audacity which I have installed about 30 minutes ago. At ±3:15 you explain the use of the recording adjustment "glider". For some reason I cannot move mine and nothing happens when I double-click on it. I will appreciate someone's help in telling me how to get it to work. I am able to use the "Playback Level" slider. Thanks for the excellent content. I do have a question for you. I'm using a headset (I know - not the best, but it works for what I'm doing!). When I record a track and then play it back - the first word is always missing. Example: "In this video........" becomes "........this video". If I record - "one-two-three ............. four- five" and then cut the audio just after the word three, the word four in partially missing. Have you seen or heard of this? Your insight would be much appreciated.
@@MasterEditor5 Thanks for getting back to me. OS is windows 10 updated by our IT team. I think you are correct on the noise canceling earphone. I did some "testing". Started the recording and just let it roll - on playback, after a few seconds I could see and hear the noise level drop. I have a feeling that that is the issue and if I record a longer "silence" at the beginning it will work for me. But - if you have more suggestions - I would appreciate your thoughts.
@@MasterEditor5 No. I shut down the computer and rebooted it. Still no mic adjustment is available in the software. I also updated it already. I just did not know if there was another way.
Ouch!!! I did what you said to get a level before recording. The slider in the record level meter was all the way up. When the sound I wanted to record came on I jumped out of my seat and tore my headphones off. Little did I know that slider was controlling the monitor feed through. Might want to warn people of this.
@@MasterEditor5 I had my Record Device in Audio Setup set to Speaker, Headphones (loopback) so I could use some audio I had on the computer for this training. I guess when you do this that Record Level slider becomes a volume control for the headphones. I had to turn it down to -50 for me to monitor comfortably.

Question: I recently downloaded Audacity 3.2.1, and the default settings seem to ONLY record speech-automatically muting almost any background noise, but also laughter, and cutting off the first syllable of many sentences. It seems to have an over-correcting automatic noise reduction during the recording process. How do I turn this off? My older version of audacity did not do this by default
Which OS do you use? Audacity does not cancel noise. Either your OS or Microphone cancels the noise. Are you using the microphone through any other software like Descript or Krisp?

@@MasterEditor5 Thanks again! I was able to go into my sound settings and found that Windows 11 has a default "audio enhancements" feature. Once I turned it off for my mic, everything worked as normal.
do you know how to separate out drums from a recording? there's tons of tutorials on how to separate vocals but none for drums. i did it with 2 other songs succesfully (my tunes) but there's one more i wanna do and i can't for the life of me remember how i did it. the recordings are mono signle track (guitar, bass, drums) but i did it somehow and like the results but can't remember how i did so.
No one likes robot voices. But if you were say Indian, you may be able to use some sort of translator so that you can produce a French and Spanish or German version etc. Not every one speaks English
@@MasterEditor5 Hi thanks for getting back to me. I ran the older versions on my old Imac for at least 10 years and I was always able to record from youtube with no problems. Sometimes the record settings and playback got screwed up but I was always able to get everything back on track. I also used a product then and now called boom to enhance the sound which it does tremendously. In sept I got a new Imac os monteray 12.6 chip M1. I downloaded the audacity app at that time which was not the 3.2.1. and it worked perfectly and I could record from youtube no problem. Then I upgraded to 3.2.1. when it came out and I can no longer record from youtube or even off whats playing on facebook. I just deleted the 3.2.1. version I had when I saw that there is a specific version for M1 chips and that still does not work. Any suggestions would be welcome. Thanks
I just tried the 2.4.2. I don't know what happen after getting the latest 3.2.1. I only have two choices the internal mic or the boom and that worked fine for a month or two with the older version of audacity I even tried that version and it still does not work. Thanks
I have my usb plugged in. Interface. But when I play music on the computer it only recordes whats on the interface and not recording what music is playing. Any help would be appreciated.
or maybe I am misunderstanding the issue. Are you trying to record sound both through the interface and the music playing on the computer at the same time? In that case which OS are you using?

@@MasterEditor5 Yes it i connected through the E-10 white box and int the USB port. I clicked on the TRANSPORT menu on Audacity to scan for recording devices. But when I drag down the Audio Setup and the Recording Device, my microphone does not show up.
When I try to select a portion of the track to delete, I highlight it (put brackets around it) and hit cut or delete, I get a message that I need to select the track. I've even put the numbers in the window below, but I still can't do it. I'm on a mac 10.13. Please tell me what I need to press to select the part. I also use the select too. Thanks.

@@truthinjesusname6154 It should be a simple thing to work. I suggest you reinstall Audacity. If you saved Audacity projects, you will be able to open those after reinstalling so no work will be lost.
@@MasterEditor5 Hello. I have solved the problem. I got an error called 'Exception code 0xc0000005'. I went to C:\Users\\AppData\Roaming\audacity\audacity.cfg and deleted the cfg file. That fixed everything. Thanks for your reply!

I have tried to watch several "Master Editor" videos, but I cannot get past the fake voice. It’s weird that a tutorial about using an audio program would use fake audio. This is a machine voice, not a real person. Whoever Master Editor is, (s)he is too lazy to record his/her own tutorials. Instead, he/she has written a script and had an automated voice read it. It is far too distracting for me to watch these videos. Too bad, as they might contain useful information, but I will never know.
Actually it takes lots of work to produce this type of video. I have to write the script after recording and then edit to match narration and video. I live beside a busy street and it is very difficult to get noise free recording. Still I am trying to make a channel with my voice: ruclips.net/video/MssbMTLvu2U/видео.html . I hope to make many more videos on that channel with my voice.
Hey Victoria, entitled people like you make me want to vomit. This man makes a video that no one is forcing you to watch, that took a lot of time and effort to produce. Export multiple files as a single mp3 or a single file. Export menu has option for mp3. For multiple files you have to mix

You have selected both the tracks. Only select the track you want to move or do not select any track at all.

Restarting Audacity helped? Were you using any screen recording software during Audacity recording?

I understand the issue with AI voice, so I made another channel with my voice. Translating is not feasible for me at this point as I earn too little.

@@montiac22 I suggest you get an older version like 3.1.3 or 2.4.2. You will get links to the older version in Audacity download page

Why do I often have track 1 and then it starts a track 1#2.
The number after the has is clip no.
This software will not detect my Neewer nw-700 microphone.

Dragging with mouse works for selection?

Make sure the correct recording device is selected

@@MasterEditor5 Hello. I have solved the problem. I got an error called 'Exception code 0xc0000005'. I went to C:\Users\\AppData\Roaming\audacity\audacity.cfg and deleted the cfg file. That fixed everything. Thanks for your reply!

that voice is so irritating but I am desperate to find out how to use audacity since they are making their once easy to use program more and more difficult to use with each update. I feel like dying listening to this voice though! so, so , so irritating!
Currently I am bit bound to use the voice. My recording environment is far from ideal and get lots of road noise
I have tried to watch several "Master Editor" videos, but I cannot get past the fake voice. It’s weird that a tutorial about using an audio program would use fake audio. This is a machine voice, not a real person. Whoever Master Editor is, (s)he is too lazy to record his/her own tutorials. Instead, he/she has written a script and had an automated voice read it. It is far too distracting for me to watch these videos. Too bad, as they might contain useful information, but I will never know.
Actually it takes lots of work to produce this type of video. I have to write the script after recording and then edit to match narration and video. I live beside a busy street and it is very difficult to get noise free recording. Still I am trying to make a channel with my voice: ruclips.net/video/MssbMTLvu2U/видео.html . I hope to make many more videos on that channel with my voice.
Hey Victoria, entitled people like you make me want to vomit. This man makes a video that no one is forcing you to watch, that took a lot of time and effort to produce. You used a finger to click a button to watch it and you called him lazy. And only because you don't like the the automated voice. If you had liked the voice you wouldn't have thought it was lazy. Wouldn't you have felt like a jackass if he was mute... Actually you should anyway.
