My dad was a professional plumber and showed me this. Even after holding the rods and doing it myself, I could never decide if it was really working or if it was a subconscious impulse making my hands move the rods. If you're pretty sure the water is in an area this'll give you a decent idea of where to dig carefully. I'd still call the utility location services before doing any significant digging rather than trusting this. Fun video!
I'm a plumber and we had a school that needed lines dug up. 2 locate companies had the locates wrong. A locate company we use all the time has a old dog working for them. He came out with witching sticks and found the lines..... We couldn't believe it. It looked cartoon when he was doing it.
Thanks so much as i just suggested this on a debate as to what a Cinder Block Vault was in the backyard of and old Home, and i suggested that they Bend L-shaped Coathanger and look for a Drainage Line coming from the House! I suggested its a good safety protocol to Look for other Drainlines going to a Septic Tank Or Water Well, as there's been tragic accidents with people falling into a Tank or Well because the Lid RoTTed!
When I was a kid, this was a major deal in Maine for finding springs. Would be on channel 8 every time some old-timer found one. They used branches. It worked though, because the man found one on my father's land. We called it dowsing back then.
I use them for water distribution work all the time and have had good results- the thing i don't get is that scientists say it's bogus... So... Yeah, i was hoping that there would be some science behind it...
My mom used to witch wells/sand points for people. Once she found the water, she would stand over the spot and wait for the rods to start moving up and down. She'd count the number of bounces, and I can't remember if it was the number of feet down to reach water or if it was how deep the well was. But anyway, it works.
Lol emf from underground water lines… real locators work off the same concept, except they are way more sensitive and can tell you how far away it is/how deep it is, if it’s more to the left of the reader or more to the right… every home in NA is grounded to its plumbing system so there’s ALWAYS voltage going into our underground plumbing. Dowsing rods pick up/are effected by the emf fields produced, any EMF fields so it can’t tell you if your picking up an under ground cable or pipe or what, just that it’s a ferrous material and it’s under ground(if there’s no wires above you)… it’s the exact same concept behind what causes compass needles to not point north when you walk around bedrock with high iron ore.
I really really wish people claiming it’s complete BS would go and test this outside their home, it costs Pennie’s and literally takes no more than 5 minutes lol
They locate all kinds of underground stuff. They are not be trusted as perfect locators, there are only a nice guide to have to help you approximate underground items.
The deepest waterline I ever located, was about 3 foot deep. I understand country Witchers can find underground water walls that are extremely deep maybe up to 100 feet. Can’t prove or deny that though.
That would no more work than Geriatric Joe's ability to hold his bowels the entire length of a press conference. I'll never believe this until I try it myself. Some say you can find graves this way too. No way. An ever so slight twist of each wrist inward would make the rods cross that way. Love your channel though!
Ha ha, I like your comment. Take two coat hangers and bend them like I showed and walk across your front yard and them sons of guns will cross when you get over your water service coming to the house.

I have to give you a high five too for being so inspirational

Yup, I’ve never been good w/the branches or a forked branch, but we call it dowsing also.

Wow. Thank you.
Nice idea, thanks !
Looks like you have a knack

And what is the mechanism by which it works? Magnetism?
Witchcraft, obviously
@@speedsquishstupid, nah - it works via New Age hooey! LOL

How about buried electrical lines?
They locate all kinds of underground stuff. They are not be trusted as perfect locators, there are only a nice guide to have to help you approximate underground items.
A retired Electrical Superintendent @ a Paper Mill showed me this and they used it too find Electrical wires or Conduit buried in Concrete!
Dial 8-1-1
How far down in depth will it recognize the water line? TY

Big foot showed us this process along with Loch Ness serpent.
