      From what I understand, the hot (high pressure) is at the bottom on a vertical design. Do correct me if I am wrong.

I want to run another cooler bout same size as the one u have in vid , and just run the lines from condenser trough the new cooler nd back to the TC!! Wanting to put one of these in each of my cars. They are both 2003 Saturn ions with CVTs. One had 195,000 miles and the other has 160,000 miles. The one with 195,000 miles runs hotter than the one with 160,000 Miles. The GM service manual says the typical transmission fluid temp range is 158F-239F. I was driving the one with 195,000 miles on the super highway yesterday averaging about 80 MPH and the outside temp was 97F and the transmission got to 224F at the hottest once I got off the super highway it cooled down to 195F which was only 3-5 degrees hotter than the coolant Have recently replaced both drive axles and changed the transmission fluid.

    thanks for the video, just wondering since you're bypassing the factory cooler, do you have to cap the end of the cooler line that is no longer being used after you cut into it? if so, what did you use to cap it? if no capping is needed, will it leak (I would think no because when you splice the line, the transmission would have drained out from the factory cooler?)

    • @VideoShowMeHow
      @VideoShowMeHow  4 года назад +2

      Hey there, you don't have to cap if you bypass completely, I would recommend though to stop gunk getting in there if you decide to you want to try it inline or use it as a back-up 👍

      Hey 👋 Yep the CRD uses part of the condenser as the auto cooler. I've since added it back in the loop to see if any major difference and nothing much to report, if anything takes longer to get to temp due to extra fluid I would guess. Would suggest either way would be fine :)

      A quick google of your make and model should find the right amount for a factory fill. Good a time as any to install one, when you do then you know you'll need the factory amount as a start. Then just keep topping up till it's right on the dip stick.

    Don’t u need a pump? How does the oil get circulated?

    • @VideoShowMeHow
      @VideoShowMeHow  3 года назад +2

      Nope no pump needed, your auto box has a torque converter that circulates the oil through the factory lines to the cooler and back to the auto boxes pan (hopefully a heap cooler than when it left!) Installing an aftermarket cooler simply enhances the cooler part of the system, everything else works the same 👍

      @@nicholaswood9055 yep would work fine. I tow a 1.4t tonne camper with my unlimited up the beach no probs. Biggest generator of heat in sand on the auto boxes is the torque converter. Once it gets into the soft stuff use low range - it locks the converter and doesn't generate anywhere near the same amount of heat 👌👌
