People say the autofocus on the Z6ii isn't good enough for birds in flight, that's not been my experience. Many years ago, my younger brother and I did a scuba diving course and the open water part of it was off Cook Island, the little island you mentioned in the video. Because it was so rough and the visibility was rubbish, our last dive was cancelled. On the way back to the harbour, a Humpback and her calf swam past and breached a couple of times right near us. No cameras unfortunately, but it certainly made up for the missed dive. I've got some great images of Terns on the beach, just up from where you were. A lot of them were carrying fish at the time.
@@vk4vsp initially I was struggling with getting birds in flight and I was blaming my gear! But once I got a technique down and dialled in a few settings, the Z6 II gave me a lot of sharp shots! Amazing experience seeing the humpbacks breaching beside you I imagine! Yeah that area seems to be a hot spot for birds of prey. I’ll definitely be returning. Thanks for the comment!
Really enjoyed that Sean! Fantastic captures 🙌

@@birds_eye_biker thanks a lot fella! Appreciate it. It’s rare for birds to fly so close like that I’m sure so I got very lucky!

Think you need to change the “not” to “now” in the first line of the description for this video. 😂
