    Does Israel's political system need a reform?

    • @mehad9885

    • @tarotcornerofdew
      @tarotcornerofdew Год назад +2

      BB only cares about his own judicial problems. Instead of passing laws to change things FOR the people he is passing laws to PROTECT himself. Since the beginning of the year 8 women were murdered by their partners, the law to put electronic tags on abusive husbands was rejected last week. BB is lying with a straight face he is trying to turn Israel to another Poland or Hungary. He is up to trail for taking bribes naturally he wants to control the judicial system.

    • @שגיאשליט
      @שגיאשליט Год назад

      That's actually a very different situation given the fact that the Ukrainians have never tried to harm or eliminate the Russians or the Russian state, it is hypocritical to think of supporting the Palestinians out of a desire for peace and liberalism when the Palestinians themselves are led by people who think that killing Jews is merit points in heaven or that the appropriate punishment for gays is to be thrown from the roofs of buildings .... Where are all the enlightened democrats when Assad killed a million of his people with chemical weapons? The Houthi rebels who lead Yemen to a disaster on a huge scale and the Yemenis to die of hunger and diseases forgotten by the world? Where is the position of the Arabs regarding Iran with chemical weapons? Where is the position of the Arabs regarding the Western Sahara? Regarding civil wars in Libya? In the massacre of Kurds and Yazidis in the Middle East? In the elimination of the Christian populations in the Middle East (apart from Lebanon and Israel, there were almost no Christians left in the region).... Hypocrisy is the inability and desire to look at the facts and justice and point to the other as guilty. As Bibi said (and I am not one of his supporters or his government), if the Palestinians do not want to live by our side, this war will continue until they are convinced otherwise

Their children and grandchildren also dream of visiting their homeland and the holy places for years. However, they are never allowed to. Meanwhile, as a Jew you can get the Israeli citizenship within 30 minutes.

      @Poke DS These are facts, my friend. Look at Syria and Lebanon, for example. Hundreds of thousands of Palestinians still live in neighborhoods that have the word camp in their names. Like Al Yarmouk Camp neighborhood in Damascus. These neighborhoods are called camps because when Palestinians were kicked out of their homes in 1948, they settled in these areas and built camps with the hope of returning to Palestinians as soon as possible.
      The tents turned into buildings as the hope of returning faded.
      My grandfather died last year having the key to his house in Palestine under his pillow. In fact, many families still have the keys to their properties in Palestine until this day.

      Let me try and explain. Israel have done, and is doing many things wrong. Especially regarding the Palestinians. But (!!) when it comes to 1948 refugees, this is the Palestinians own doing.
      In 1947, the UN called for two states. One side took on that offer (and established the country of Israel) while the other side decided to gather all the surrounding armies and go to war. (Even after losing in 1949, they haven’t declared a country, but we’re under Jordan and Egypt control)
      During that war almost 300k Jews from Arab countries were also been chased away from their homes. From Iraq,Syria, Morocco and more. At the same time about the same number of Arabs were chased away from Israel. But at the end of the day, this was a population exchange.
      It saddens me that your grandfather kept the key to his home. After 75 years, this say more about the UN and the surrounding countries, the ability to help the refugees, and integrate them, then it say about Israel. So many still leave in refugee camps, and this is the real crime.
      We also know what it’s like to be chased from your home. If it’s by the Arabs, or if it’s by Nazis. But eventually you need to make a new life.

    Imagine a small dog and a big dog. One of them is aggressive, the other one calm. Is the big dog automatically the aggressive one beacuse of his size? Of course not. Big dogs can be kind and small dogs can be ferocious.
    Now imagine the small dog is constantly attacking the big dog. He bites his paws, his tail, barks loudly and annoys the big dog all the time. At first, the big dog doesn't react. Then he gets a bit wounded and becomes irritated. Finally, his patience is gone, and he's sick of the small dog's behaviour. He bites the small dog, who now has a big injury in his neck, bleeds, and cries.
    Will you blame the big dog or the small dog?
    Saying Israel is the villain because there are more Palestinian than Israeli casualties, is like blaming the big dog for being larger and stronger than the small dog, and for having reacted that way. Israel ONLY reacts to attacks from Hamas, and NEVER attacks on their own initiative.
    Also, the Israeli army (IDF) is the only army in the world who warns the population of an area before bombing it, by disseminating small notes, so women and children can get away in time and the number of casualties is reduced.

      i'm in israel now and spoke to a few different people about what's happening (people in israel LOVE to discuss politics) . the problem with bn is that he went from being overall well respect but many in israel to pandering to the religious. on one hand i get it....the religious ones are the ones who have large families and will continue to vote for him. stratigically it makes sense but unless you are super religious, you end up affected negatively by it. there's a lot of separation of people in israel. not even talking about the jew with palestinian thing either. there's jews vs. jews as well.

    Would Piers Morgan use the same aggressive interview method when interviewing Palestinian leadership if he got the opportunity? I doubt it. In most Western countries there is a balance between the 3 branches of Government and only 2 branches are democratically elected. You cannot have the judiciary branch rule over the other two branches as Benjamin correctly stated. Balance is the key.

    I'm not an israeli, or know anything about Israeli law, but it seems like the issue to this is not so much the president getting to appoint judges, but more that he's going through a trial and the law happens to conveniently come out while he's going through this trial, which would help him.... if they really want to deal with the separation of powers issue, to give the appearance of not having any impropriety, it seems like a good solution would be to wait till the trial is over to push this.... lf the timing was different, it would be sound logic.... can't have unelected judges who are on Lifetime appointment status get to select other judges for Lifetime appointment status who aren't accountable to the people..... but then again, the media can be downright Liars so it's hard to believe what they're saying.. Donald Trump had the same thing going on when he was going through the Russia trial which happened to be a total 100% hoax fabricated by his opponents.. which literally shut the governance of America down for 3 years

      Expatriate Israeli here: you are right. This is only to ensure he does not go to jail. A reform is needed but not like this, particularly in a country which does not have a written constitution or a very thorough judge appointment like the US.

      Israeli media does to Bibi what American/western media does to Trump. The situation with the Israeli courts has reached crisis proportions (I saw it brewing when I lived there in the 1970s). These reforms will not affect the outcome of these trumped up charges but perhaps if he is going to get screwed he at least wants to restore the balance of power before it’s too late.

      Your logic is pretty good but your missing one fact. This "trial" on bibi is complete nonsense and an obvious political attempt at stopping netanyahu. So if he needs to change his policies because of a politically motivated witch hunt than the prosecutors get to control policy instead of the voters who have elected netanyahu while he was campaigning for these policies
