Love your guys videos I have a 2018 Polaris general 2 seater love my engine braking exspeclly coming off steep downward hills it's almost out of factory warranty 6 months old in Feb 15 I make pymts iny machine still do oil changes at 25 hrs 50 on everything else and I'm at the 980 miles on it so far
VERY VERY INFORMATIVE!! Now that that has been said let me say this...I freaking HATE the EBS!! I feel like I'm gonna flip over my handle bars sometimes cause I'm still getting use to it and it will catch me off guard. I have a 2018 sportsman 570 sp...can EBS be taken out of my machine without it affecting the performance or anything for that matter? Other than the warranty of course...
Man, I just got a 2024 sportsman 570 ride command, when you get down to slower speeds it feels like it's gonna throw me over the bars, guess I'm not youst to it yet !
How can I reduce my engine braking on my 2024 polaris Xpedition? It's dangerous in slippery conditions. It's way to aggressive. Possible clutch spring change?
Your xpedition does not have engine braking technically, it has a two way bearing in the primary. So from here the only way is change the helix to one with a different back angle, but I am not aware of one available. If brand new, it will lessen as it gets some miles on it, then drive with the gas pedal and you will not notice it, do not take your foot off the throttle until you stop.
Almost, the spider with rollers sits still, as you give it gas, the belt is turning the secondary, as it turns the helix turns quick, the rollers on the shaft not moving yet, so the helix slams into the roller in the bottom open part of the helix.
I have a 2013 sportsman 800 ot makes a loud constant clunking noise when deceleration and even when hitting the brakes foot or handlebar brake it doesn't clunk on acceleration
I have a 900xp with a 27% gear reduction. It has 30” tires. All I do is rocks/hills. When I’m cruising and let of the gas, it locks up the back tires because if too much “engine braking” due to the gear reduction until roughly 1-2mph. How can I get LESS “engine braking” while keeping the gear reduction?
You can have engine braking with the EBS clutch without the one way bearing. All the one way bearing does is give you engine braking down below about 5 miles an hour.
My 2021 Polaris 570 utv makes a sputtering sorta popping sound at low speed, the machine only has 4 hours on it and i was told the engine breaking causes it to do that? I'm still trying to break it in but this popping noise worries me it's almost like it wants to backfire
i have a polaris xp 1000 2017 When i don't push gas about 20 mph it start to stop dramatically until i got 10 Mph and the belt sound like slippering. How can i resolve that problem ?
I have a 2019 sportsman 1000 xp with about 600 miles on it, love the quad, but coming from a 1000 can am renegade, the engine braking is very different. On the renegade I had engine braking in 4wd on all 4 wheels all the time, even coming to a stop. I’m an aggressive rider and loved the renegade , but wanted storage so I got rid of it and purchased my sportsman. When I’m riding down mountain switchbacks and coming to a near stop to turn before I fall down the side of the cliff my sportsman FREEWHEELS and I see my life flash before my eyes and have to slam on rear and front brakes, I HATE THAT. I need engine braking ALL the way down to a stop, not just down to 4-5 mph. I NEED your advice as to what to do. I was thinking of taking a loss and getting rid of it but seeing as to your explanation, it seems as if there is a solution. WHAT DO I NEED TO DO? PLEASE HELP. THANKS
I am not familiar with all the sportsmans models but I looked up one now and according to parts diagram yours has the one way so full on engine braking. If I knew the specific model maybe I can tell you more
@@Hunterworks thanks for the quick response. It has ebs but not below 4-5 mph, it just freewheels at 4-5 mph and that's super dangerous on some of the steep inclines I encounter. I have the 2019 sportsman xp1000 premium model.

You won't have to send the clutch here for that, comes set up, we only change weights for elevation not tires, you should consider smaller tires or a gear reduction with that size tires on a 900
I do not know, our videos are about UTV's not ATV so I do not keep up with ATV's, I am sure they offer a EBS model but again I just don't know that one
Ok thanks , so when I'm creeping up to a road crossing, just enough engaging the clutch may getting 3-5 km. Then let off . It makes a little clank/clunk boath accell and decell . That would be the helix making that little clunk/clank working the engine brake. Correct ??.

How can I reduce my engine braking on my 2024 polaris Xpedition? It's dangerous in slippery conditions. It's way to aggressive. Possible clutch spring change?

If brand new, it will lessen as it gets some miles on it, then drive with the gas pedal and you will not notice it, do not take your foot off the throttle until you stop.
So is there a model that can brake down to 0 mph or a system that can be fitted that will engine brake down to 0?
Any ebs model does that more or less plus so the duraclutch.
Is that where the “clunk” comes from when you first take off? The helix letting go of the rollers and slamming back the other way?
Almost, the spider with rollers sits still, as you give it gas, the belt is turning the secondary, as it turns the helix turns quick, the rollers on the shaft not moving yet, so the helix slams into the roller in the bottom open part of the helix.
I have a 2018 Ranger Deisel and I'd like to get rid of the engine braking. Do I just need to change the bearing to 2 way?
I can't tell you that off hand, never had a diesel in here
I have a 2013 sportsman 800 ot makes a loud constant clunking noise when deceleration and even when hitting the brakes foot or handlebar brake it doesn't clunk on acceleration
That is not a clutch I am familiar with, we only do UTV's for the most part but a good look over is best
If you can recommend what I need, I'm willing to purchase and try to install or have my dealer install. Thanks again
