      Sorry, just saw your comment. Depending on if you have obstructed views, some good evening targets include Pleiades, bubble nebula, Andromeda, veil nebula and the pac-man nebula.

    This smart telescope is not for planets at all. It is for DSOs and just does well for the Sun and the Moon.

      The short focal length of the S50 is definitely not optimal for planets, but given that the planetary mode exists, it's still fun to use it, especially on Jupiter and Saturn which are nice even with the short focal length.
