    I’m at the camp site right now and my Tail Veil is in its bag. I camp alone and I was afraid to set it up and look foolish. So I’m in my van watching your video and now I’m excited to put it up. I’m going for a swim and plan to put it up when I get back!! Thanks for the helpful video!!

    I haven't tested it yet but I've heard that, in hot weather, if you spray the outside of the tent with water, the evaporation will significantly lower the temperature. If you're chilling in a breeze, this will work nicely. Lil something for after the winter. Love the vids! Bb

I have a Napier Sports Cove, which turns the hatch into a tent door with screen, and provides an awning beyond the hatch to sit under, but it does not make the screen room that the Tail Veil makes. So, it's a different animal, really. The similarity is that it fits over the hatch.

    I have a Tail Veil and it is great. I love your idea of using a windshield shade to protect from the sun. I think that I have an earlier version because mine doesn't have the extra antibug flap - which is a great idea. I have a Nissan Rogue and the hatch is a bit small for the Tail Veil so it sags a trifle, but it does work very well.

    • @ButterflyTracks
      @ButterflyTracks  2 года назад +1

    Hi Jan, I am in Canada and also have this Tail Veil for my DGC . It is so very east to put up. I didn't like the plastic floor in hot weather, I found it too hot. Soooo, Not being able to find a carpet to fit properly I bought a Moving Blanket ( the type Movers wrap around furniture for protection. They come in different sizes, I got the 6' x 6' size. They are quilted and water resistant cotton. Reasonably priced, in Canadian funds in our Canadian Tire store mine was $24.95. This store is equivalent to Walmart minus produce. When not in use I just fold it up and it fits to sit on my passengers seat making an extra cushion. So sorry I don't have any pictures to show you.
    I am wondering what others use on the floor.
    Happy and safe travels. ❤❤❤

    Thank you so much for this, very informative. I bought something similar for my Honda Fit a few years ago but am yet to use it because I've read with some vehicles, leaving the hatchback up/open for long periods of time will run down the battery because,even though the interior light goes out, there are still some internal processes running. I was afraid of possibly ending up with a dead battery in the middle of the woods so I've put off using it. You haven't had that issue?

Would you be comfortable using this in that situation? Or is this just something you can use when in a group/caravan setting? If I got this, I would have to disengage my hatch lights because they come on automatically. I'm sure there's a simple way of doing that, but I'm quite challenged with anything automotive. PS. Hi Diane. 👋 I don't leave the hatch open at night. The tent fits tightly all around, including underneath on the bumper. However, bugs are are so tiny that I don't see how you could guarantee none would get in a tent.

    Anyone know if this would work over the tailgate of a small truck. I have a ford maverick with a Snugtop cap/camper shell. I need something to extend my sleeping space as it is so small that it’s very uncomfortable! Thanks!

    Nice tent but the link doesn’t send me to the Canadian Amazon site so I can’t give you your affiliate benefit.

    It's been 5 months since you posted this video. Can you tell me if you still like the TailVeil? Do you wish it were bigger? Also, I'm wondering if the slanted screen gets in the way if you have a table there or if you are sitting there. I really like the large screen area and the rainfly, but I'm considering getting something a little bigger. I can't make up my mind!

      Hi Dawn. 👋 For me, the main attraction is that it so easy to put up and I don't use it very often. With the table to hold that draping part out, it's fine for two people.
      If I was good at wrangling the poles of a bigger tent i would definitely get one that attaches but you can drive away and it's still standing. (If i filmed myself putting a big one up alone, it would be a hilarious viral video)

      The link is NOT for a legitimate TailVeil. It does not mention TailVeil anywhere because it is a cheap knock-off.

    Can you use the rainfly as a shower tent?

    • @ButterflyTracks
      @ButterflyTracks  Год назад +1

      Yes, you sure could. Use magnets to attach it to the hatch. 👍
