As someone who owns many firearms revolvers are my last option for self defense. They look cool but are very impractical compared to a semi auto handgun or shotgun

Revolvers are much more practical for self defense than handguns for 3 basic reasons.
1-Revolvers rarely jam unlike pistols
2-Revolvers will shoot when they are dirty unlike many pistols.
3-pistols have many things that can cause a failure to function breach ramp, bad ammo, failure to extract, contact pressure on the slide, out of battery, stove pipe, double feed etc.
