Great review but I'm a little confused. It seams from your comments both typing feel and sound were meh, but you say a few minutes later the board is fantastic and one of the best 65s in years. Were you just being tough in those respects but actually really enjoy it? Or did the looks push the needle that much for you to overlook the problems and purchase?
Sorry for the confusion. It's definitely a board that is specced into aesthetics primarily, which really helps it along, however with a plastic full plate, and the planned fixes, I think it could get good enough as a complete package (getting the sound and feel more than just "meh" tier)

There is a anodizing technique called Anoprint , Anotone, etc etc. Pick a random name. In any case it allows the dyes to be printed in a silk screen manner onto the raw prepared aluminum and then anodized and sealed. It's very effective for doing text/complex patterns like this. I'm guessing those blocks may be some amount of the silk screen that is left behind from where it is hooked? No idea. That's about the extent of my knowledge of the technique.
Definitely enjoy long form reviews. Thank you. I agree that the purple and gold would be really freaking sweet if they will allow us to grab that colorway
apparently theres a new firmware out (1.11 I think) that gives via support on the slider itself. You'll need to load the json keymap into via (available on their site) to be able to modify your keymap, its an extra step, but it works for now
A bit, going too loose would open up a can of worms of other potential issues, like a rattly plate. I think a very slight softer o ring would be helpful
they're pretty good. As always I wish they were 5 cents cheaper to help cover the cost of an aftermarket spring. I'll cover them more in depth on my next kb review, and compare them to standard JWICKs to give an idea of the differences in molds

Soon 👀
He's done more than a few mid tier boards. Arc 60 recently for one.
can you guide me how to make that slider sound no i can't use that slider. My VIA doesn't accept this keyboard either

I CANT BELIEVE IT'S NOT BRASS!
Do you think the gaskets being clamped down on with a lot of force while also being hard to begin with could contribute to the sound issues?
A bit, going too loose would open up a can of worms of other potential issues, like a rattly plate.
I think a very slight softer o ring would be helpful
If you had to pick one, Glare65 or the AARU65? Considering both rn
Glare65
I'm getting both, but glare65 if you want a concerningly heavy board, and aaru if you want a concerningly shiny one
i would put on my gmk pharaoh right now on that lol
will join the gb for this, manage to snatch gmk pharoah for this, tk for the review simon your the best
how do you like the v1 switches?
they're pretty good.

Yo Simon why are you not letting us buy the purple one?
