Axiom were considered by some to be our first supergroup….with members of the Twilight’s and The Groop….. like a lot of Australian bands around this time….they went Left UK instead of Right The U.S….they had great songs and harmonies….. Brian had great solo success and Glenn with LRB…..both Glenn & Brian still tour to this day…… my favourite song from Axiom Fords Bridge.

Some people don't realise that this song was not necessarily about the American civil war, but about the futility of war. 😢

It's amazing how Australian accents can melt away during a song. Not just Aussie accents, but if you remember the Swedish group Abba could barely speak English when they had their first few hits, but you sure can't pick that from their music.

It's interesting that these guys had several songs based on American history and themes. I think they had an eye on breaking into the American industry early on.
Don't think it happened for them.

It was more acceptable in 1969 to criticize the Civil War rather than Vietnam when you wrote an anti war song. Also why MASH was set in Korea
