As a kid, I remember seeing her on that TV talent competition show Star Search hosted by the late Ed McMhan. Gosh the mid 80s into the 90s we kids were so spoiled with an abundance of original music and talent.
Tracie was 15 when this song was released. It was released like 4 days after her birthday, which means she recorded it when she was 14. She was part of a small wave of very young singers including Shanice (who is as good if not better) and Tevin Campbell from the late 80s and early 90s. Tevin had the biggest success, but all three are incredible vocalists. This was her biggest hit, but there are a few great songs on this album. I'd go for "This House," album tracks "Love Me," and "I Have A Song To Sing," and the title track "Make the Difference"
