Of all the War Thunder Fan Videos, this one is by far, head and shoulders above the rest. It not only has movie quality action but has a story line, characters to root for or boo against. As a person that has written Fan Fiction for other MMO's I find this refreshing to see the detail and work put into it! Bravo to you Sir!

Gamevid4 my 5 year old little brother loves this vid, I let him play what is basically a mobile War Thunder, Wings of Duty. Its just as realistic, historical, and has planes, tanks, and boats all in the same match! Paid $5.00 for an Ace P-38, and was not dissappointed ! Thank you for the amazing video!
I absolutely adored this it got my adrenaline pumping (esp. the last 3-4 mins) the only thing I noticed that I could have wished for is just add a couple decals on the main planes (Ben's P-38 and the last enemy Bf-109 and maybe the P-38s who saved Ben in the beginning) just so the pilots and the planes had more of a character. For example, if you put a nose art on them or a victory mark or a inscription or something historical to make it look like the planes fighting mainly weren't just some random Bf 109 or P-38. Overall, excellent work on this my friend and you deserve the 133,000 views and 2,300 likes. P.S.: I don't even know what to say to anyone who disliked this, oh well I guess we all have our own opinions :L

One interesting way to get out of a dive is to turn off your throttle because that will speed you up towards the ground, turn on your air breaks because the dive is causing you to gain speed, and use the rudder and spin the plane as slowly as possible. It will pull you out of your dive. Ive gone into a dive in the PBY-5a as I was rolling to my left and got my engine knocked out. I lost control as I plummeted to the ground, but used these tips (didn't have air-breaks so it was harder to stay at a speed where my plane didnt rip apart.) and i was able to turn using my rudder and rolled until my plane was level. I made it back to base for repairs.
What I saw; -A P-38 tanking many hits -Numerous Bf 109s splattering apart like Zeroes flying in hail. Appreciate the effort though, this seems a bit one-sided.
Nice film! Loved the part were the BF109 pilot said "Impossible!" Then when he said "Check your six" that made it awesome as the P-38 just blasted away! As usual, great film

Great video man. I love the story of it. Amazing how you got that P-38 to take a beating, I fly any of my US planes and with the slightest touch of a bullet, it goes down, hell even the wind kills me.
Actually the Germans had a jet called the Heinkel 178 in 1939. It wasn't used as a fighter, but it is extremely important to the development of jet fighters. The first operational jet fighter was the Me 262 "Shwalbe" (Swallow in English) and was used by Germany in WW2. It was first used on July 26, 1944 where it damaged a British Mosquito.

Well actually, stat wise, yes, but in an actual WWII scenario, especially in the stormy conditions depicted, the BF109 would take massive hits from the wind, and it would be impossible for it to aim. This wouldn't be true for the P-38, as it is much heavier and more responsive.
Despite my German ethnicity I would have fought for the allies back then. However the amount of British and American patriotism that is put into this stuff is ridiculous and unwanted. There are no rights and wrongs in war.
If it had not already been recreated to perfection by Nassault, I would have made a video about my favorite moment in the entire war. The story of Franz Stigler and his act of mercy and heroism is unsurpassed. If you have not seen Nassault's Stigler video it is a work of art. Every time I watch it I shed a tear...no joke.
It feels like those action movies where the hero is pretty much dead, there's literally no chance for him to overcome his situation... then bamm, happy ending. Either way, this was very well done, I really enjoyed this video.

That's the point, the control surfaces of the aircraft are limited when at higher altitudes with a plane like the P-38, its unlikely that he would ever get his engine running again at high altitude, the denser air helped get it started.

One of the pluses of having a large maneuverable aircraft is that the damage is spread over a wider area in comparison to smaller fighter, the P-38 could take far more hits (as long as its not hitting modules of importance). Don't put all your eggs in one basket as they say.

On ultra high settings but rainy weather scenarios do not look as good as sunny from a graphical standpoint. Try watching on 1080p as well.
