    When I was young, my African Dad told me that, in marriage, we tolerate difficult times and sickness but not mistreatment. When I met my first husband, he beat me up one day until I was admitted in hospital, I woke up all swollen,bruised and bleeding, then I realized that my love for him had ended that moment, I walked away with my 3 year old child. Years on I met a more Educated, wealthy and polite man. The woman batterer lived a life of frustration and confusion. Fearing to raise children alone is stupidity, God is the one who provides and protects .

      Children watching a father abuse a mother are definitely going to be abusers to their partners is not totally true they may grow up as abusers or become victims of abuse, and they may settle for abusers because that is what they are used to,. and there is a small fraction that would decide to do the right thing. because no one is sure if they will become abusers or settle for abusers, do not expose children to abuse because the consequences are 85-90% negative. We were in a foreign country and I had heard and seen evidence of his violence since childhood. He never laid hands on my mother again. I'm sorry her male children were too scared to intervene or report their father 😢 May Taiwo rest in peace and her children and family find strength, peace and comfort during this dark time.

This man was frustrated his wife was the bread winner while he waited for his non existent career to take off. This is always saddening to hear, women should shine their eyes, and should not settled down for an irresponsible and lazy men who are not ready to move forward, but rather wants to control and be jealous of their wives. The children emotional states are already damaged, and they will need a therapy to be better, if not, history might repeat itself. Women should learn to leave early, before much damage will be done. Also, women should not be desperate to get married. All these signs are there, women just chose to ignore for various reasons. May her soul rest in peace, and may God grant her family the fortitude to bear the loss. So painful and pathetic.😢 Same story everytime! 😢

    Neze such a great video. It is very important that we talk about it.
    Next year I will be ten years in marriage, I have never experienced abuse.
    I have noticed that most men like to be in control, get respect and be seen as the head that they are meant to be. Finances is a great part of what is causing all these quarrel due to all the bills both known and hidden that has to be paid.Abroad tend to favor women more than men.

      @TheGinanisque 8 месяцев назад +2

      Growing up in deprivation, the person in the family who has money is the king. This is usually the man. This establishes the hierarchy in the family.
      In an environment where there is no deprivation, people have enough for themselves, nobody really cares who has more.
      Nigerians try to bring that deprivation hierarchy with them when they migrate. That lordship based on who has more will not survive a prosperous environment. Everyone has their basic needs provided. The African men still seek the servant/master relationship that was promised them in heaven. Unfortunately many like the murderer in this video only have death or prison in store.

    • @oma7698
      @oma7698 8 месяцев назад +1

      Not that it favours women. Rather, everyone has equal rights, a situation not found in many African cultures. Some African men find it hard to accept their African wives as equals. And an oppressed African wife will take advantage of the equal rights to secure better conditions for herself when she gets abroad. Interestingly, many of such African men will be subservient to Oyibo women. So, they know what is right. They are simply picking and choosing when to do it. In Western countries, the law recognises the high incidence of violence and inequality towards women and takes steps to prevent it. But only if affected women report their situation.

    Besutiful Neze, Thanks once again for your clear explanation of all that transpired prior and up to the murder of Taiwo. This is so terrible and heartbreaking. I pray God alone comforts her children, siblings and mother.
    My simple thoughts here are these:
    Abusive personalities hardly change. Extreme abusers like Mr. Olubunmi do so repeatedly because they re constantly angry at their spouses who are doing and earning better. The ego in them translated to extreme bitterness and envy so much so that they re completely blinded to all the good sides of the wife. It's about the battle of complexes. He 's embittered about why it must be the wife earning and doing better than him instead of the other way round. Battering is his only way of stamping control and headship over her as husband.
    Poor Taiwo, she just felt trapped and must have been more fearful about leaving the man. To her leaving him meant death. Little did she know death was already in the corner. May her soul find eternal rest in her maker .
    The lesson here is for women to have a mindset of zero tolerance to wife battery. Never endure this habit in the hope for a change because it never happens. Simply walk away and see yourself do much better. For those in diaspora, run to the law as soon as this is a pattern. If you are not bold enough to leave, keep speaking to good friends and family members. Sometimes, they re the ones who will come and move you if they see you re so stuck and undecidede. Life should be lived and not endured .

    If you saw your father beat up your mother.He was abusing her and it is wrong you can’t repeat the same.You must promise yourself never to do the same.God is clear about how a husband should treat your wife.You can’t honour your wife if you are abusing her (God said husband honour your wife)

    I believe Nigerians in general especially the men should think it through seriously before leaving Nigeria. The lifestyle culture in Nigeria is non existence in any civilised country of the world.
    Women are never regarded as properties that should be treated inhumanely. That is the basic property.

    For me it's 2 things really der Neze.
    1. Nigerian/African men are raised differently....with important values and principles missing and hidden in pride and ego. While the female gender is from very early thought how to be a woman....how to nurture (with bay dolls and all), how to be domestic (clean your room, dishes and laundry)....etc.
    So when the constant/environment changes.......the variables (ego, mindset, values and upbringing) become unstable and can't function......leading to an erruption/erractic/build-up of reaction.
    Truly sad, honestly.....I don't know how we can rectify this lacuna 😢
