  • The Panorama Torngat Ti is a bike that's designed to tackle a few different bike disciplines. It clears some of the biggest fat tires out there, has lots of mounting points for racks and bags and bottles, and can even run a belt drivetrain for ultimate durability. But that's only one end of the spectrum for this bike...it can also run a 120mm suspension fork, be set up with a q-factor that's just a hair wider than a normal mountain bike, and has a lot in common with "downcountry" bikes in the geometry department. I've been testing this bike out for a couple of months now and in this video, I give my thoughts on it and let you know if this could be the right bike for you.

Really nice review. The areas you rode in look super fun. The Torngat Ti looks like a great option. It would be a blast to ride it in the San Bernardino mountains.

The Voytek slaps so hard on every level, but this actually kinda scratches the lifetime fatbike itch.

Very nice, but for that price, you’d want to ride it all year to justify the cost…I really like the look of the Taiga adventure bike, you should see if they’ll send you one of those for review….

Keep in mind the website is in CAD and that titanium frames are more expensive in general. I actually think for a ti set up it’s a pretty good deal.
Also I’d love to try out the Taiga, it is definitely a cool looking bike!

This may be subjective, but I am curious as to what is the best way to ride a modern geometry hardtail with no suspension fork. My only experience riding rigid has come from riding vintage MTB, and I wouldn't consider it comparable because any old MTB necessitates a completely different riding position/style. Most modern HT (particularly the aggressive kind) have a long-travel suspension fork that's supposed to take much of the brunt and encourages the rider to lean forward on technical descents rather than shifting their weight back. Meanwhile, on a vintage rigid, I bring my weight back and "un-weight" the fork whenever necessary. Since this is not preferable when riding a modern bike - yet there's no suspension fork to rely on - I'm going to assume that the optimal riding position on a modern rigid bike is a neutral one, which effectively makes it similar to the riding position that best suits modern FS bikes... but I'd appreciate clarification on this topic.

Can you tell me how tall you are? I'm 5' 10", but 79 yo, so not all that flexible.

I’m just shy of 5’11”. If I were any shorter I’d definitely get the medium.
