  • My overview of what is a venogram and what you should know before having one.
I had a venogram to investigate my May Thurner Syndrome and to look for Nutcracker syndrome and Pelvic Congestion Syndrome, but this information is good for anyone having a venogram for any reason.

I have all of the same chronic illnesses as you, and I just found out about vascular compression diseases! I'm so excited to find your channel and watch through everything, as there is very little information available online about these things. I really hope I'm able to get this looked into so my life can finally get back on track. Thank you for making this essential content, I will definitely be binging it!

Thank you. I had a Venogram at the start of my Vascular Health Issues that basically Chronic Venous Insufficiency. It was over before I realized it had started - I was kind of high as a kite numb. From what I understand there was some efforts made by the surgeon to correct some issues. 16 Vein Ablations followed to deal with superficial veins that were not functioning correctly due to flawed and damaged valves which were causing venous reflux symptoms may indicate venous insufficiency: Edema - swelling of the ankles or legs Leg cramps Pain that eases when you raise your legs but gets worse when you stand up Itchy legs Throbbing, aching, or a heavy sensation in your legs Weak legs Varicose veins Reticular veins Leg ulcers. After about 4 months I had less pain when walking and the ulcers were healing. I had about a 2 month period where I was feeling pretty good and then I had a set back. The ulcers and the other symptoms were returning and I could not walk without a cane again. This is a mystery so far. The Duplex Ultrasound reported no further veins that had bad valves, and a test to check for arterial disease was as well inconclusive. In ten days the surgeons will do another Venogram however they are concerned that I may have something else???? I have become severely affected by Covid Long with major muscle and joint pain in my upper body and I believe that my Venous Insufficiency Disease was triggered by Covid which was an unknown condition that barely had any symptoms until Covid. I have learned of the Micro Blood Clots that are central to Long Covid and specifically the restrictions of blood flow, the lining of veins and the failure of blood cells to perform efficiently. After the Venogram I will continue with what ever the Vascular Surgeons want to do but I will take steps to seek medical attention to my continued now 13 months battle with the virus that was not of natural origin. At least one doctor that my health care provided as a telephone appointment and opinion was certain that Covid is more of a vascular disease than a respiratory disease because the oxygen has to be transported from the lungs throughout the body through blood vessels that certainly have the virus along for the ride> I believe that everyone has Long Covid and will have health issues in the future. Dr. Fauci and his psychopath pals have created a monster for our species to cope with. Like other people with Acute Post Covid Syndrome my life will probably never be normal again. Hopefully my vascular doctors will find a way to relieve the problems I am having with the blood circulation in my legs and the damage caused especially by the micro clots. As for the muscle, bone and joint pain in my upper body - this is a health issue I have only realized is not a fluke but a real danger to my health. The fatigue and overall weakness may never be effectively treated. Again sorry this is so long. I have only become aware of my problems by reading comments of other people like me so maybe I can help other people who have no idea why they feel so badly

Hi Jeffrey, I am so sorry to hear you are having setbacks after getting COVID. I know there are also some studies that have linked Long Covid to dysautonomia (which is a common comorbidity of vascular diseases, I have a form known as POTS). I hope you get to feeling better soon and that you can regain a significant amount of your health and functionality back. Thank you so much for sharing your experiences! - 💜 Alyssa

Thank you for this video! I'm having this procedure done today & I WAS getting pretty nervous about it until I watched this! I have herniated discs, spondylitis, spinal stenosis, sciatica, arthrosis in my spine, & SEVERE peripheral neuropathy symptoms in both legs, feet, & hands. I've been dealing with the peripheral neuropathy symptoms for over 10 years I'm only 46. Then 2 years ago I got covid. After that I started getting spider veins all over my legs, ankles,& feet. I also started getting giant round blisters on my feet, discoloration on my ankles, & swelling. One of the blisters on my toe got so infected that I almost had to have it amputated! My legs & feet are constantly cramping. I had a sonogram done on my legs & they found out that I have leaky veins or valves. So I'm going in for a venogram today 😬 Wish me luck. If anyone reading this has peripheral neuropathy symptoms & you've found a magic cure PLEASE let me know 🙏🙏🙏

@@jacquelinekolaj5922 my nutcracker syndrome was confirmed and they put in a stent into my renal vein and also they also found may thurner and had to put a stent in for that too. I was flat for an hour after then had to sit up for half hour. Then went home with pain meds. I'm in pain but nothing compared to the nutcracker syndrome! Was told my pain could last a week or so. I was lightly sedated and aware of what was going on. Went very well and would say if anyone is worried about getting this done, it's actually not too bad.
