I think it's interesting how in AC6, you begin the game by *stealing* the moniker of Raven. You don't know the weight it carries, or the historical significance packaged with it. To you, it's just a name. In that way, it's a lot like new fans coming to the series in the wake of AC6's success. They aren't "true Ravens" because they never "earned" their title. Rather, it was "stolen," because they only showed interest once Armored Core became popular. But just like in-game, it doesn't stay that way. Through showing great resolve and persevering to fight for what they believe in, they become worthy of that title. Despite how they first obtained their title, they are Ravens all the same.
I was expecting this comment to be some pretentious "true fans" bs and getting ready to type up a real rant on how AC6 is the first title to drop on PC, but you managed to pull it back. Way to stick the landing. 👍
Me fr. I only found out about only 4 days before release. Now it’s beating destiny as my favorite game franchise, and I REALLY loved destiny

i used to play armored core on my old ps3, started with 4 and FA then went to 5 and Verdict day but the funniest part is that i didnt know the name, to me it was just a good game with giant robots that i would play after school. this was 10 years ago when i was 8, i didnt even know how to speak english at that point and when ac6 came i remembered i played a similar game as a kid and went to check my collection and the memories hit me. im so happy they decided to make ac6 since it brought me back to armored core, my favorite series that i almost forgot about.

@DamplyDoo it is heavy, super heavy implied that Ac 5 is actually a continued of Ac4 and there is city full of people in 5 so I supposed that there is still some safe spot on earth from the pollution caused by kojima particles in AC4/4A as well as there is an implications that human might have left for space in one of ac4A's ending

You can feel the heavy burden and the duty in the beginning without any words. It's visceral. When the violin joins it puts another layer of a hardship and a sense of a tragic life or a loss.
Personally I did not play Armored Core games but I listened to a lot of tracks and really like the music. Music is incredibly important.
In a bunker deep underground, a relic of wars long past, something stirs.
In a place long abandoned by human hands, where corridors once bustling now lie empty, everything covered in a thick layer of dust, something moves.

Oberon, our time is close at hand again. When we'll carve our names into the hearts, the minds and very sky of the world, as Ravens given flight, that's when we'll finally be back at home.
It has been years since the ravens fought. Many have forgotten their purpose now that the world has grown cold. Then, as if it is a message from beyond, a ping hits our terminals, opening the old machines, we are greeted by an email titled "new contract, Ravens needed." That word "needed" a word thought that some would never hear again, we are not wanted, we are NEEDED. The fires are burning.
Glad to have discovered AC and can't wait to play it on August 25th.
To my AC Blodia Type-R, the time to rise once again is drawing near, that thought fills my mind with thrills :)

The UNACs were somewhat a throwback to the Pulverizers from AC 2/3, and Last Raven/Nexus.
Zinaida, Jack-O, Evangel along with the rest fended off countless hordes of Pulverizers... Like it's Tuesday for them. I miss the Golden Age of Armored Core. I truly do.
Same. Golden Age wasn't even the graphics, it was just about everything the game was. If PSN store put up the old school ones, i'd purchase in a heartbeat and play til my death bed.

I was able to find a copy of the very first a few years. Didn't play it for a year. Now I'm almost done with the game but I'm stuck in the final mission
