Settings may vary from machine to machine, depending on the machine itself, the wire used and the metal to weld. The best approach is either testing the welding on an off-cut or starting with relatively low settings and work your way up till you're happy with the weld. With thin walls it's easy to blow through the metal, if you're not careful.
So I’m American and I very stereotypically have a hard time converting metric measurements to standard measurements, but would this material be .75”x.050” square tubing?
Hey, I hear you! I've been in the US a thousand times and still can't wrap my head around very small fractions of inches... haha Anyway, yes .75"x.050" should work just fine, the difference is negligible.
Hey Ti, both cuts for the armrest piece are at 50°, the leg has a 50° cut on the armrest side and an 80° cut on the "foot" side to bring it flat to the floor. You can also find all angles and lenghts in the spreadsheet available in the video description.
Hi Jose, thank you, you too! I'm not sure which saw you are referring to but I'm guessing the miter saw... It's an Evolution Fury XL, with its own multipuropose blade to cut the steel and then with a CMT 60-tooth fine cut blade to cut the walnut.
Hi, I speak little to no Spanish, and the Gtranslator is not helping with the part of the question I'm not sure about... I'll try, though. The steel tubing is 20x20x1.5mm and the wood slats are 50x10mm, the seat height ends up being 430mm. I hope this answers your question.🙂
On the contrary! But I guess it depends on what kind of chair you're looking for. This is the second set I've built from the same design I made back in 2014. Dozens of people have sat on them and found them more than comfortable enough for a dinner or just to hang out outside. Clearly it's not meant to be a living room recliner chair type of seat but I'd say it works great for what it was designed for. Try and build one for yourself, you'll be pleasantly surprised. ;)
Very nice!
Thans for this video, i’ll try these chairs one day!
Thank you for watching! Glad you liked them!
*I love the shot of filing the screw head. From start to finish in one stroke*
Thank you!
Saludos desde Argentina muy hermoso el trabajo gracias 👏🏻👏🏻
Thank you very much!
VERY NICE
Thank you!
@@MakeOn welcome
One more thing, your simple jigs worked great.
Thanks! They really did. I learned from the first set I made without any jig. It took probably less than 1/4 of the time this time...
Super, thanks u!
Thank *you* !
Thanks bro, now I have idea
It's great to hear that, best luck with your project!
Thank you for watching!
Did you need welding or cutting?

There's a spreadsheet with all the dimensions and angles in the video description.

Thank you!
what settings was your mig machine set at to weld the chair

How wide are the wood slats when attached to the chair? We already know the length.
I'm away and can't check right now, but they should be around 50x10mm (~2"x3/8"). I made them ripping in half 100mm wide stock.
Thank you for your quick reply !!!
@@KSFWG I'm glad i could help. Thank you for watching!

Hey man, what angles did u cut the leg frames at ?

@@MakeOn thank you man! It’s a excellent peice, doing a project on it actually! For my year 2 welding inspection/quality control class.
@@tipressure3206 Thank you man, I really appreciate it! Then if anything is for sure is that your welds are already way better than mines. haha
@@MakeOn haha I wish, Is it alright if I ask you questions if they pop up throughout the project?
@@tipressure3206 Sure it is! Glad to help if I can. Keep in mind that I'm no welding expert by any stretch of the imagination though.😉
Ок.Спасибо.
Excellent project video. What paint did you use for the steel?
Thank you so much!
I used one coat of metal primer and two coats of anthracite grey with a hammered finish.
@@MakeOn Thanks

Hello, can you give me the dimensions? I'm interested in the length of the legs ... I don't really understand the dimensions left in the description
Hi, the leg length, before the angled cuts at the ends, is 22" or 560mm.
Awesom
Thank you very much!
Good work!!dimension please?

this does not look like a very comfortable chair.
On the contrary! But I guess it depends on what kind of chair you're looking for.
