I just loved his voice. Such an incredibly kind gentleman.
What has happened to us as a people? He showed such absolute class being patient with her by redoing the beginning of the interview twice. Then gave an absolutely marvelous interview to her. Always the gentleman. People say that we have evolved that I say nonsense... If anything we have DE volved.
The many adventures of Winnie the Pooh will never be forgotten without him. He was incredible.
He was such a joy , dearly missed
What a Gentleman, Absolutely Charming!!!
A very nice interview. 'Always loved Sebastian Cabot. As a bigtime watcher of Family Affair and knowing Mr. Cabot's voice in Pooh narration and other Disney adventures, he will forever be fixed in my mind as a very good and kind person. Thank you for making this interview available!
Take me back to the good old days and yes they were much better
I could listen to that guy read the phonebook for hours
A gentlemen's gentleman. RIP
This was a delightful interview. It was nice to see Mr. French, with a sense of humor.
This the first time watching it
‘The one eyed god, CBS...’ wow. Refreshing to see this gentleman kept it real. I think it looks like everyone on Family Affair was a genuine person.
I am rewatching the whole series on the Roku channel. I remember why I loved this show as a kid.
Im watching it again on Tubi!! It takes us back to a better time doesn't it?
Excellent interview. Thanks so much for sharing with us. The famous purge of CBS in the spring of 1971 when many “rural” or “family” shows were cancelled in favor of more “modern” shows. Sebastian Cabot left us way too soon 😨
True! Why couldn't "The Beverly Hillbillies" have been retained for a 10th, and final season?! The network could have, atleast, kept ONE rural "country" based show in production. Especially, one that consistently remained in the top 10 ratings profile during its entire network first run. "Closure People!"
The Waltons, came on in 1972. It’s my favorite show; but it wasn’t a modern time period show.
@@moemcgovern7345 Good point.
Waaay too soon.
What an interview. Such a full life. Very nice gentleman.
I agree. Loved him. Great actor.
I love Sebastian Cabot! Thank you.....
Ironically in Disney animated classics he took part in different roles in two different reitherman brothers. He was abusive and batshit crazy as hell as sir Ector towards two different reitherman brothers (wart Arthur in the sword in the stone; Robert and Richard reitherman) whereas as bagheera when he’s sympathetic and protective towards mowgli (Bruce reitherman)the jungle book
Such an incredible loss. He is truly missed. RIP Mr. Cabot
Sebastian Cabot..
PURE CLASS..
JUST LIKE ON " FAMILY AFFAIR "
AND IN REAL LIFE ALSO..
I WISH WE HAD MORE LIKE HIM IN THIS WORLD.
HE WAS A GENTLEMAN'S GENTLEMAN ON
" FAMILY AFFAIR " AND IN REAL LIFE ..
WHAT A CLASS ACT.
AND A GREAT GUY TO TALK TO....
Sebastian Cabot was a true class A act
What a sweet man he was!
One of the few men who was blessed with a golden voice.
Love Sebastian Cabot. Mr. French. He played on a game show in the 1960s, with Ross Martin, and the two of them were wicked smart.
He voices my favourite character in one of my favourite Disney movies #thejunglebook 💚
Sebastian is an example of style vs fashion in his clothing attire. People who follow fashion lack confidence in themselves because they worry about what others think about how they dress. By contrast, style describes who you are and you don't care what others think because you are confident in who you are. In other words, you are not out to impress others because you feel no need to do so. You are who you are not not what others want you to be.
Bagheera never dies!
Somehow, I think he still behaved like Mr. French in real life.
The best of best
djattjjdd
He’d have been an amazing Doctor Who! Whoever becomes the 14th Doctor, take notes from this fellow 👍🏻
Great call!! We can only dream..
I LOVED THIS SHOW and i watch it on my phone every night. Seriously.
❤ I remember him in family affair. A wonderful part of my childhood. ❤
dashing man 😎😎😎😎😎 ole school 70's kid here i watched thia show on RERUN 😅😅 dam good ole days.
he would be a perfect pitchman for luxury cars
We were robbed as was he.
Could you imagine his incredible icon voice shared to generations voicing characters in animation and narration.
Godspeed mr. French
RIP
Sebastian Cabot
(1918-1977)
I loved him in Family Affair, the Time Machine and Winnie the Pooh. Going to Vietnam, he seems like a nice man and at times funny. What a kind gesture going to Vietnam. Its a shame that he died so young.
I always thought he was such a charming man, this interview certainly confirms it.
CBS made a huge mistake not keeping Family Affair and Mayberry RFD until at least ‘73.
I feel the same. Those shows and the Ed Sullivan Show should have all been kept running until 1973 the 25th anniversary of the Toast Of The Town premiering on CBS in June, 1948.
my one and only Mr. French! :)
the other was fine too, john williams it was who played the detective in grace kelly's hitchcock film 'dial m for murder'.
Mr Cabot left us too early...
That's how a real man should dress love it very classy and I bet you got some great cologne on
Sebastian Cabot; a gentleman’s gentleman ❤😊
He was in Vietnam! Was he entertaining the troops? Can you imagine those guys in the mess hall getting all exited that Mr French is coming!! What a nice pick me up that must have been.
I thoroughly enjoyed Sebastian Cabot in everything he played in, but especially as Santa Claus in the made for television Miracle on 34th Street.
“Mowgli must go back to the man village! The jungle isn’t safe for the man cub!”
“I grew up in the jungle!”
CLASS!
Loved family affair and loved Mr French. I loved all the actors in family affair. Johnny Whitaker I loved him he play Jodi and he was cute when he was little and annissa Jones who played buffy. Cathy I loved her teenager that worked with the twins. Brian Keith was loved too. Very good show in the 60s to the 70s.
I agree for the most part, but having recently watched the first episode, I'd have to say that Mr. French started off as a stuffy ol' fart. I couldn't blame sweet little Buffy for biting him on the leg. Lol. 😏
this most be 1971. he talks about vietnam and cancellation.
*Gentleman*
Just watched an episode of Gunsmoke with Sebastian Cabot playing an ambitious photographer. He'll always be Mr. French to me.
Sebastian Cabot had a heart attack in the middle of Family Affair's run and missed a number of episodes. British character actor John Williams took over the Mr. French role during his absence.
Mr.Cabot play on 1960's Twilight Zone"A Nice Place To Visit" episode. He played as PIP! A guy named Valentine died in a shoot out with the cops during his robbery.PIP his guide appears and take him to a fancy place and was given all he ever wanted ; All the money, pretty woman, a palace, and gambling and plenty of food but at the ending Valentine thought he was in Heaven and he was bored with always winning. He told PIP he wanted to go to the other place beside heaven and PIP told Valentine what gave him the idea he was in heaven! PIP told Valentine this is the other place🔥👿👹
Kind of depressing that he says he's tired of doing Family Affair, what if you were a kid watching this and heard that?
Worst yet would have been hearing Anissa Jones saying it and she actually did. So sad that we lost them both within 6 years of this interview.
blessing always, Kimmyssong
J’ai adoré tout les acteurs qui ont joué dans ’’Mon oncle Bill ’’ épisodes en français ❤
He and Larry Blyden were brilliant in the "Nice Place to Visit" episode of the Twilight Zone.
Anybody remember him in a weekly series in the 60's. It was a thriller , suspend kind of show.
Did anyone catch the "bird" flown when SC said "the one eyed god" (meaning CBS)?
He requires your chocolate bar to cook with lol. I loved this man.
He would be 105 years old if he were still alive.
Sir Ector from The Sword in the Stone
Pooh's narrator sounds like Davis Attenborough.
Could have sworn Mr. Cabot did commercials for Smithfield Foods. Cannot find any evidence of this. Does anyone recall these ads?
He died of a brain stroke, if you take certain medications with grapefruit juice it’s a deadly combination. It makes you wonder if they knew about that in 1977. He was one of the great ones.
If *Harry Potter* was written back in the '60s, he would've been PERFECT to be the audiobook narrator of the series.
Bagheera in the flesh!
Youuuu Bagheera??
How did he get the stroke, if he's dieting and eating grapefruit?
@Thea Hartman have u not seen her death certificate?? Might wanna have that checked before u start throwing conspiracies
@Thea Hartman and to prove ur self proclaimed "theory" wrong she wasn't even living with her mother anymore by the time she was 18 she bought her own apartment and her brother was living with her so they both got away from that mother of theirs what led her to her death is the negative influence by the ppl she was hanging around with including that scumbag boyfriend so don't go around spreading any false claims keep it 💯
This guy was on nam ?
Until I bought The Twilight Zone box set, I had no idea he was in an episode of that series and had to bleach his hair and beard blond for the role.
Same person as Mr. French! 😮
- Better voice than morgan freeman! Cabot annunciates his words so well and the accent is just the cherry on top.
"I'm tired of it [Family Affair] but I need the money." "In the sophisticated cities, they're too grand for our kind of show, but in the national we're in the top 20..." He wasn't above knocking the hand that fed him, was he?
he be keepin it real...
It's Sir Ector in real life
This is the other place!!!
Diandra Jameson cue evil laugh...
Mr. French was fine I mean good looking man. Very talented hes missed.
CBS got rid of Family Affair and some other programs to make way for All in the Family. Not that it was a bad program, but All in the Family had very little charm. It would be three years before Little House on the Prairie picked up the charm and ran with it. Sadly, no other programs have had that level of charm ever since.
he doesnt sound nything like Bagheera...
That's why it's called voice "acting"
Sebastian and anissa gone too soon 😢🎉
He was in a lot of westerns, always played the bad guy.
Mr French gentleman bachelor, child phycologist? not a clue 🙁
"
'U
In a way he was hot.
Sargon of Akkad!
Only lasting 5 seasons was a total disappointment. Mr. French had class and style.
