Heather - First- this is a beauty. I love your work, but I love the way you explain how your journals are put together. Your combination of all the different materials you use makes the difference and takes them over the top. I wish I had a stash of old envelopes, what a lovely addition throughout this journal. Thank you so much! You are so sweet🥰🥰🥰 If you can’t find old envelopes, just grunge some up yourself by tea/coffee staining new ones and not being careful with them by allowing them to tear a bit. Once they dry, seal them up and then use scissors to slice them open again or tear off the ends like you were opening them. That should give you some nice distressed edges for using in your projects🫶🏻

wow Heather! you knocked it out of the park!! i got so many cute ideas for my travel journal that i'm making! i do have a question about your medical tape washi (it's called micropore by the way and yay, i just happen to have some!) do you ever peel it off the acetate? or just cut up the transparency that you put it on and printed..... having big fun with your ideas!!
Thank you! I do peel off the medical tape from the acetate when I’m ready to use it! I only leave it on if I stick it inside a pocket for the recipient to use. I did notice that the longer it’s left on the acetate, it’s harder to pull off but that’s okay💙💙💙
question... if you print something like the roses that have a white background does it only print the roses? I'm thinking a colored paper... it doesn't print the white, correct?
@@jeannemclaughlin9630 Correct-ish…If it’s truly a white background then the printer won’t print anything where it’s white. Printers don’t have white ink. Sometimes image backgrounds look white but aren’t truly…like maybe spots or distress splotches. Unless the actual image is transparent…like a png then it’s usually printing something but your colored paper will show instead so it won’t print white but may change the tone of your paper a bit. Definitely try it out! That’s how you’ll know and you may not even notice it did anything different at all😉
It usually starts with an inspiration piece and that could be from fabric, a book cover, digital paper, authentic ephemera, etc. I build from that by choosing additional complimentary things to use for the color palette and overall aesthetic I want. So basically a pile of items that I add to as ideas start to flow. Once the cover is completed or I have a general idea of what it’s going to be I’ll choose additional papers to use for the signatures. I hope that helps 💙💙💙

Could you tell me of this little clamp used like a paper clip? My eyes aren’t so good so I can’t describe it better. I’m sorry.
Imthink you might be referring to the Tim Holtz tiny clips like this: www.amazon.com/Tim-Holtz-Advantus-CLIPS-IDEA-OLOG/dp/B084Q75NS5/ref=pd_bxgy_vft_none_sccl_1/147-0035739-2805672?pd_rd_w=0I23C&content-id=amzn1.sym.26a5c67f-1a30-486b-bb90-b523ad38d5a0&pf_rd_p=26a5c67f-1a30-486b-bb90-b523ad38d5a0&pf_rd_r=WCKTVAQNG8EFXGK5CAPS&pd_rd_wg=QJXtB&pd_rd_r=cde2f350-f210-40d2-93ab-0acb9cf5486e&pd_rd_i=B084Q75NS5&psc=1
Heather, do you know the journal's measurements? I tried to figure it out by the width of your hand over the cover and came up with about 5 1/2 to 6'' wide, lol. I have the same teal/green quilt fabric from Amy (Flossy Mae) and am going to try to duplicate your journal somewhat.
It’s 6x9 😊
@@rosehillpapercottage7179 Thanks so much Heather! Have a great day!
@@jbond7513 You’re welcome! You too💙
