This is so healing for me to see. When I had my c-section for my daughter I got a septic infection. To save my life, and keep me from getting a hysterectomy, a doctor had to reopen the entire incision while I was awake and get as much of the infection out as possible. It took 2 months of a wound vac, then it got reinfected so then it took 6 months of seeing a wound care doctor every 5 days and nurses everyday to get it healed. My daughter was almost 9 months old when I was released from all doctors and restrictions. I’m so grateful to have that doctor save my life, but to hear you say that it was so traumatic, it validates how I felt. You can be grateful and happy the doctor took this action. While still having to deal with the scary trauma of the event as well. I pray and hope you get better soon and this is a distant memory.

You are so brave and strong. My daughter had a bone infection in her ankle when she was 8. She also had a PICC line and took vancomycin. Which she was unfortunately allergic and it sent her back in the hospital. It took 3 months but she’s better now! I’m sending you all my positive energy and healing vibes. Hope it’s resolved soon!

I was on vancomycin for an infection. I loved it bc 100% cleared all acne as well as the huge intestine infection I had. I truly hope you get cleared of this infection! I have a lot of medical issues due to diffuse scleroderma, neuromyelitis optica, lupus and more. Thank you for sharing but means a lot to the people who battle health conditions so we feel we aren't alone. I truly pray this works for you. I know it can be scary but your a super strong woman you got this. I randomly saw one of your shorts about the hard days and crying. Totally hit home and cried with you xoxo

Subscribed to your channel recently and have been watching back episodes. Saw this and jumped to the front.1 All I can say is, I wish only the best for you both. Of all the "van life", "truck life" channels I watch, you two seem to be the most down-to-earth. Both honest & open with your lives. Can't wait to see what you do next, once you can 'get back on the road' to whatever extent you decide. BTW, my son was on "Vanco" for 10/days years back, while fighting an infection while he was being treated for leukemia. As you said, it is the most potent antibiotic medication there is today! It worked for him! I hope it works well for you!

Hey I been following you guys and just came across this. And had the same problem. I broke my L2 almost 2 years ago. And got mrsa. Was on vanco in hospital for 3 months.I had a pin size hole in my spine months after surgery that wouldn’t stop leaking clear stuff. I had a vac on that. About 8 months later (last September) I was in so much pain I could t even shower. Went back December and they said I had a infection in my spine. Was in hospital again for 2 months. I’m only 32. And it’s so damn scary. Scared every day it’s gunna come back or they didn’t get it all. And the littlest thing I all sudden think it’s an infection. Thank god my fiancé rode it out with me. So I feel y’all an what y’all going threw 🙏🙏

I've had an infection from a knee surgery I needed for quality of life in 2017, it was post surgery, the day after the stitches removal, that the infection set in. They treated me with IV Vancomycin in the ED and, let me tell you, I found the first medication I'm allergic to, which is IV Vancomycin. Now there are multiple forms of this medication, and I can't have ANY of them, because of my allergic reaction, my lips swelled like a blowfish, it looked like Mike Tyson sucker punched me in the face! and then I also got hives. we didn't let it get any worse, so idk but I didn't get anaphylaxis at that moment. Would I try again, no! 😂
But I'm glad the medication does work for you. I'm glad that it's a treatment option for you. Trust me, I've said we're all allergic to at least one thing. Some of us never find that one thing. Other of us find all the things. I'm hopeful I don't find anything else I am allergic to.
