i was there that night, best show of my life:) Gojira Polandrock performance is pure gold, best quality on RUclips, sound engineer of that video is just magician, it soundss like you are there!
Yes lads! This was a soft introduction to Gojira tho, after this you can dive a bit deeper. My recommendation would be the album version of Flying whales or the live version of the heaviest matter of the universe! They've been around since the 90's, so they are by no means a new band, but they've evolved from death metal to more of a cleaner progressive heavy metal sound in my opinion. I think that Gojira is universally loved by the metal community, thanks in part to their unbelievable live shows! Just a fun fact: Joe (the singer) and Mario (the drummer) are brothers. Enjoy the ride and thanks for the great content!
Oh man, you guys have hardly scratched the surface yet with Gojira, which is exciting :D. This is one of their most "accessible" and catchy songs, from their latest album Magma, in 2016. In my humble opinion, having listened to probably thousands of bands, and being a musician myself, I can honestly say Gojira is one of the most brilliant and import Metal bands of the 21st century so far. Right up there with Lamb of God, Meshuggah, Mastodon and others. Also having been to over 300 concerts, I think they're also the TIGHTEST and one of the more powerful bands to watch live. Complete masters of their craft. Mario is also one of the best drummers on the planet, and my personal favorite. Joe (frontman) and him and actually brothers. 2 music geniuses for sure. They started very young in 1996, but their first album debuted in 2001. For the first 2 albums, it was a lot of Death Metal and technical stuff, as well as groove and kind of tribal sounds (a little Sepultura influence, as well as Morbid Angel and Death). Once they hit their 3rd album though, they really showed how brilliant they could be. It's a lot of people's favorite Gojira album and has 2 of their biggest songs on it (Heaviest Matter of The Universe & Flying Whales). It's a masterpiece which is part Death Metal, part progressive metal, with plenty of heavy and intricate grooves. Every album since then has gotten more progressive, experimental and a little more melodic, especially their latest material (like Stranded). Definitely recommend listening to a ton more of the band. Some songs are simply spellbinding and goosebump inducing (Art of Dying, Explosia, Space Time, Where Dragons Dwell etc). I suggest any live version of their songs from the Brixton Academy 2013 show. Amazing sound quality. Try Flying Whales, Explosia or Oroborous from that show \m/
The energy at these festivals are crazy. You don't see crowds go this crazy in the state's really anymore. The European and South American crowds go nuts.
Gojira have been around for more than 20 years or so. I remember when they started to get big in France in the early 2000s. Their popularity really grew when they played the opening for Metallica in their US tour in 2008. They really kicked off from there. You should try to react to their song Silvera, the official clip video or the live version, both are awesome.
not by the government, gov sucks festival is free cuz of "The Great Orchestra of Christmas Charity", it's like "thank you" for everyone who supports them and raise a millions of PLN year by year
they been around since the 90's as Godzilla....had to change their name ....so they took the Japanese name of Godzilla ...so since 2001 , they have been Gojira !!
they've been around a long time, and everything they've done has been incredible, lyrics to do with existentialism and humanities' self-betterment/self-destruction/environmentalism.. I saw them live almost 10 years ago and they were AMAZING. Love to see you guys react to more gojira (plenty of suggestions here) but also try out Opeth (perhaps Deliverance, as a start)
Gojira are a bunch of great guys and they like people who react to their stuff. Just ask the guys at Lost in Vegas. They were invited to a concert and got to meet the band.
They've been around for a pretty long time... in the metal world theyre huge... you wont meet too many metalheads that haven't heard of Gojira.. and for the most part theyre a favorite, i dont think ive ever heard anything negative said about these guys. They will never get iron maiden or metallica big.. no metal band will, its not the 70's/80's anymore.. the newer generation of "metal" is the core stuff, deathcore, metalcore, post hardcore.. (which im not too big a fan of, although there are some bands i enjoy)
They were the most underrated band up until 3-4 years ago.. and they are at this very moment the most explosive live bands around.. I saw them in June and I've seen a lot of bands live but theres no other live band where you see chicks moshing.. these boys nearly blew the fucking walls off the venue.. do more GOJIRA 🖤🖤
You guys should do a Parkway Drive: Dark Days. It’s a song about what we are doing negatively to our planet. And we won’t have anything to show for it to our children.
They have been out since about 1998 but they are currently on the American Knotfest Roadshow circuit with Slipknot Behemoth and Volbeat, They are pretty big already... check out their live concerts over the years, more than decent attendance numbers worldwide.
These are mainly polish and german Metalheads in the crowd, since this festival is located right at the German border. I can guarantee you they ain't drinking red bull.... They drink beer. That year specifically they drank A LOT of beer since it had around 38 degree Celsius every day. Oh well, and maybe a little booze here and there
Must do ,...Gojira - L'Enfant Sauvage from the same pol'andRock live show Or Gojira - Toxic Garbage Island ( Live Hellfest 2016), And then do Where dragons dwell live hellfest 2013, Its one of their most intense performances.

They were playing in the 90's. We played on the same stages and had drinks with them a couple of times
Mario (drummer) is a total beast! I met him one night after a show, super nice dude too!
I freakin love Gojira. These guys really enjoy what they do!
They have been on the scene since the mid 90's
Lisa Johnson ow like when they were called Godzilla
@@benluna4844 yep. they didn't become Gojira until the early 2000's. I have to say, I like the Japanese pronunciation better.

You need to check out Devin Townsend. Gojira and Nightwish are two of my favorites, Devin is the 3rd.
I saw Gojira couple weeks ago. They are amazing. One of my favorite bands along with Deftones and Opeth.
A lot of potential? Gojira prob one of the hottest current day heavy metal bands lol

Great reaction!! Like always, the name of the drummer is Mario Duplantier, he and the singer/guitar are brothers.
They started in the early 90s I believe. Godzilla was the recent band name. Then they changed it to Gojira in I think 2001
Jolie réaction messieurs. Vive Gojira.
