    Really appreciate the time and effort that you put into these videos. Very informative. Its so easy to take for granted today the amount of instruction and shared knowledge that we have access to on youtube, forums, and other sources.
    So thank you for sharing your knowledge and understanding with us.

    As always, masterfully voiced and explained. Thank you so much for all the effort. Special bonus for me is as you picked LOWW as my home town for the example. ❤

    This may sound stupid but. After loading flight plan and exporting to msfs what happens next. How do you get to having your Aircraft on the gate ready to go. I think i have learned the wrong way round he he . Thanks. Great tutorial.

    Thanks a lot.
    In the "straight-in landing" window, I still dont understand the difference between the different figures being written.
    In you example, you have for CAT II, aircraft type C, the following information: RA 97' DA(H) 700'(100') What is the difference between these 3 figures 97, 700 & 100 ?
    Which value do I need to enter in the FMS under RADIO or BARO ?
    Thanks again

    Excellent ! So will you engage auto pilot directly or manage altitude and climb rate manually for the SID ?

    • @Easyjetsimpilot
      @Easyjetsimpilot  3 года назад

      Auto pilot will only climb to the altitude you tell it to. Same with the STAR, it will not 'read' the charts for you and fly it altitude automatically.

    Excellent, concise video! Is that decision on which category is rwy. A vs. B dependent on Metar report so wrt. visibility? I read there is a special certification pilots have to pass for categorization of landings, that's more complex in real world than as it looks to us. Ty, perfectly explained Gavin.

    • @Easyjetsimpilot
      @Easyjetsimpilot  3 года назад

      Some airports require pilots to undergo special training before being able to land/depart there (Innsbruck, Tivat etc)

    The LOC ONLY approach had a descent angle of 3.05°. This is a bugger. Because you can’t set 3.05° on the FPA. But, importantly it’s subtly different to a normal ILS where the G/S is working. In practise, you’d have to set 3.1° on the FPA and just constantly monitor it and correct it on the final descent to the runway. This slight difference isn’t always present when you compare a normal ILS to the LOC only approach. It’s worth being aware of though. 👍
    The difference between Cat C and Cat D aircraft is their approach speed over the threshold (VaT). The cockpit height is irrelevant. A faster aircraft needs a slighter higher minimum because it’s travelling across the ground faster and descending at a faster rate. So, it needs a higher minima to accommodate the additional height loss it could have should it go around at minimums. 👍

    Another question : I've noticed that there are several ILS25x approaches (ILS25RZ, ILS25Z) ... and depending on the one you choose, the MCDU will propose a different list of available STARS. (I've noticed this when flying to EBBR with RW25L in use, choosing for ILS25LZ gives me a different list of STAR than if I select ILS25LY.
    So my question how do we know which ILS25Lx (Z or Y) we need to select. Today I know that if I'm coming from the south-east to EBBR, I need to choose ILS25LY and not ILS25LX.

    • @Easyjetsimpilot
      @Easyjetsimpilot  3 года назад

      ILS Z is the main one used. Y is used in the event that an navigation aid (VOR NDB etc) is unserviceable, requiring you to use the alternate ILS Approach.

      @@Easyjetsimpilot Thanks a lot Gavin. But sorry, I invite you to go on EBBR and analyse ILS25 Left STARS. Your answer seems not to be correct with what I see or I can be wrong.

      @@eaucalme1 it's easier to explain on the Discord server, as we can show charts. But the ILS Z is always the preferred option.
