    Thanks for the tutorial! I'm feeling inspired to have a look at some real charts and not just rely on the built in approaches in MSFS.

    interesting, but the most important stuff is missing. What to click when in the cockpit to reduce height, reduce speed, set up the localizer/glide slope bugs, pressure etc. What we not need is another explanation for the ILS charts, that is covered by so many other videos already.

      this was a ILS tutorial not a tutorial how to fly the plane + you should know how to slow down a plane by default.

    I think I've done all of steps (i was even flying the same route) but i had a problem, the F-Plan disconnect, and I couldn't CLR it, but i landed safely as the AP disconnected.. And also I'm getting ''Too low terrain'' warning even if I'm perfectly okay at height and PAPI is half white and half red.... Btw I'm new and i haven't got a lot of knowledge, and this was my second flight LFPG-LFMN.

    Hello, My question is; before approaching, on the MCDU are you >Activating (APPR PHASE) or not? At the final APPR your aircraft is slightly in angle from the ND! [OHHH....you made slight right turn to get in the runway... . I like your tutorial.

    Do you have a video for a localizer only approach using the FPA mode?

  • @vnnn3962
    @vnnn3962 3 года назад +4

    At landing runway was not inline with direction of flight. So you had to turn right to line up. I know: this way is given by instruments, but why does this be best way of landing? - Sorry for my bad english.

    • @RealSimPilot
      @RealSimPilot  3 года назад +10

      This approach has what is called an offset localizer due to the terrain on the left hand side of the approach. It keeps the aircraft away from the coastline.

    • @RealSimPilot

      The LS button is simply a display that comes up on the PFD which shows the ILS glideslop and localiser markers.

    Great video! Is activating the Approach Phase in the Perf menu the same as hitting Appr button on the dash. I've never been sure about this.

    • @RealSimPilot
      @RealSimPilot  2 года назад +3

      No. The approach phase will slow the aircraft down as you add flaps during the approach, provided you have inserted the destination data in the perf page for the approach. The approach button activates the autopilot to intercept the localizer and glideslope.

    • @birdman4274
      @birdman4274 2 года назад +1

      @@RealSimPilot Thanks for the clarification. I have used both but at one point I thought they did the same thing and probably wondered why the speed wasn't lowering with flaps from the perf data. Did you ever do an RNav approach video. That would be awesome too. I like your style of teaching and picked up a lot on your Simbrief import video especially the W&B and wind component.
