Thanks, that's just what I needed. I think a wheel hub bearing puller would make the removal much easier, and you wouldn't have to remove the parking break, or beat on the installed hub and possibly damage the brake sensor. You clearly explained all the requirement as you performed the removal.
Thank you for this. My 11’ SRX is NOT AWD and thus made it a bit easier to accomplish this job. I did NOT take off ABS sensor knowing I ran the risk of braking it. Also, I did NOT take off the e-brake stuff. The bearing came off with WD-40 a lot of hammering, tapping and some patience and it finally came off. On a scale of 1 to 10 I would say this is a 3-4 in terms of difficulty.
I can’t remember but it was giving me some trouble and I think I disconnected first inside between the frame first but I didn’t remember for sure . Hope you got it figured it out
@@dimascartech i glued the old one back together 😆 🤣 😂 hope it holds if not I bought a new one. And have it on standby will just suck to take everything apart again. What a bad location for this should be an easy fix
You should have taken the wheel sensor out first and you probably would not have broken it. Also have done wheel bearings before and not had to take apart the emergency brakes.
IF IT WAS BROKEN, YOU SHOULD HAD AN ABS LIGHT ON IN THE DASHBOARD. THAT LINE SHOULD HAVE BEEN REMOVED PREVIOUS TO TAKE THE WHEEL BEARING OUT. THANKS FOR THE VIDEO.
it can very from shop to shop just for labor you are proble looking at $100 - $350 but if you go to the dealership it might be more. i would try to shop around different shops and ask how much they charge. but then if you get cheap at some local small shop they might do a bad job, so sometimes its best to pay more to make sure they do it right the first time or else you might need to take it to the shop second time. or ask any of your family or friends to help you by looking the video. just make sure if you brake the sensor you need to replace it as well. as you can see on my video my sensor broke while i tryed to take off the bearing.

Rubber mallet? Those don’t come off without a torch and air hammer up where I live. They still pay the same flat rate down there?
What year is this? Is this awd I have a 2013 and it’s pretty rusty my mechanic using wd40 but didn’t let it sit long doing a lot of hammering
Can you post a pic of where to place the jack? Thanks
i dont have this car to show you. but you can prox. look at my video and see where its located, or google it.
The SRX user manual has the placement noted. There are rear and front jack points indicated by a raised line on the plastic cowling.
So did you have to push the clip out from between the frame first before disconnecting? For the sensor?

Thank you for the feedback
That wheel sensor can't be taken off unless the brake shield is out of the way so the hub was going to be moved no matter what..
Not necessary to take the whole e brake assembly apart. It all comes off together at once with the wheel bearing hub. That doubled the work involved.
im sure there is other ways to do it , if it works for you then save some time.
