UG (along with Angelus) is one of those watch makers that I wish a true enthusiast would buy as a company and restore to their former glory. I have a JLC chrono from 1940 that's fitted with a UG 281 movement, and it's absolutely wonderful. Great video!
It also makes me really sad to see what has become of this historic company. I just don't understand how you can let a brand just decay like this. However, much thanks for your kind feedback.
What a magnificent informational display design. I think that pre-CAD design, particularly in the 1940s, was far superior in terms of combining utility and artistry.
Tenho um desse na parte de trás está EB e tem duas filas de números ! Está em excelente estado nunca foi usado ! Era do meu bisavô , ele era major do exército!
I’m looking at a universal Genève compax that does not have compax written on the dial and has only one blue chronograph hand and it has a red outline of the milliseconds. Can you help me identify this watch? I would like to know more about it. I found one that looks similar that was described as to be from the Brazilian air force. Do all universal Genève have the same amount of blue hands? I love your video’s btw. You inspired me with the love of vintage watches. But I have so much to learn now. Thanks in advance. 😊

Couldn’t agree more, the 1940s speak a very unique and special design language.
