Dive into the Rhythmic Journey of Mr. Lenny on CTA - Cleaning The Airwaves! 🇰🇪
Uncover the musical tapestry woven by Kenyan Afro-Hip Hop artist Lenson Njuki Wang’ang’a, widely known as Mr. Lenny, since his debut in 2000. Introduced to the world of music by his friend and early collaborator Nelson kiama aka Dr. Paper, Mr. Lenny officially embarked on his musical odyssey under the Sratch Records label where they released their first single, "Daddy Has To Know". In the quest to share new and unconventional sounds, Lenny faced the challenge of finding studios willing to record his unique style. The turning point came at Entertainment with a Difference (EWD), owned by Jimmy, where he recorded the breakout single 'MCs.' Collaborations with Mr. Googz and Vinny Banton on the remix of 'Githurai' not only propelled Lenny's career but also reintroduced him to Ogopa DJ, connecting him with musicians across East Africa.
Building on this momentum, Lenny established a fruitful partnership with Kunguru, resulting in hits like 'African Woman' and 'Baby Don’t Go Away.' Collaborating with the late E-sir on 'Kamata,' Lenny also delved into independent projects, releasing the single 'Cash Money.' The Kenyan music scene witnessed Lenny's meteoric rise as he, along with fellow artists, toured East Africa and various European nations to showcase the richness of Kenyan music. After a hiatus in 2007 for business ventures, Lenny made a triumphant return in 2018 with 'Randa Randa' at Grandpa Records. Currently working with different producers on his second album, Mr. Lenny has rekindled his presence in the live music scene, gracing notable events like the GoDown Gig and PRC concerts.

It just hit me The African woman track has a little sample from Junior Kelly's Love so nice. RIP Kunguru. This duo was so in sync.
I was sold on Lenny the 1st time I heard him... Early 2000's were dope times bana
Am just happy that you, Mkuruu, is here. You're so supportive.

The intro to this episode gave me chills down my spine, Damn!!! Thank You Richie, Big up Mr. Lenny
Mr. Lenny was the King of CHORUS back in the day. He was the T Pain of that day.
just like that Mr Lenny became the King of collabo..any jam he was featured in was most definitely a banger..
Out of Mr. Lenny's music catalogue, African woman is my favourite jam 🔥🔥
The song seems to have a sample of 'They Don't Care About Us' by Michael Jackson too
The Songs by Kunguru and Mr. Lenny "Baby Don't Go" was my mum's favorite song and she old.
May Kunguru keep resting in peace. He made our childhoods.
Was the hotel Rock City? manze I have learnt life is a Journey pole pole with God & when your focused, with right people around you and mentoring you will get there
This song was what confirmed Mr Lenny was here to stay.
RIP Kunguru you left a mark in the music industry

I remember when I first heard African Woman! It had a different vibe from all the other faster Ogopa tracks. I loved it because it was easy listening💯
I have literally split my screen. You drop Lenny, I pause Bi. Mkuru.

RIP Kunguru. We worked in the same organization at some point and he even performed "Baby Don't Go" in one of our end year party.
This song African woman was top song in kiss 100 count downs in 2000s
Githuria will always be the vibe
The hotel was called Ribshark now known as Shark Place.
Nilisumbua watu na African Woman...eish...nikiwa Class 7
I remember it coincided with the days of World space that enabled sisi people wa Chebarbar to tune in to Kiss 100. That Top 7 at 7.segment.. i think i still have a tape with the song...had to record the radio recording coz i think haikuwa Ogopa 1.
Still one of my wifes favourite song...
As I begin watching this episode, am hoping there's a story on making MOU ft indigenous. That song wewe! 2004 marks a very special part to date.I won't go into details.
Kunguru sounds like DNG. He wrote hooks and got great people to execute
Is the hotel Shark's Palace?
It must be.
Most emotional episode. Real was made and we shall listen to Kunguru till end of times
It was almost like Kunguru-Mr. Lenny was an unofficial group
RIP Kunguru😢.

That 'Baby don't go' track has the audio panning that was well done. Ukiskia kwa stereo unachizi!
