Looks like they were just ending the apparently 5 mile route of Lord Mayors! Poor souls must have been absolutely knackered! 😢 They did outstanding non the less. Great video!
Great video! The Honourable Artillery Company deserves more recognition for what they do! Well done to the Ladies and Gents of the Honourable Artillery Company! The marches played were, 1) 0:01-Household Brigade 2) 1:48-Guards Armoured Division 3) 4:56-The Mud Cabin 4) 7:11-Glorious Victory 5) 10:18-The Great Escape 6) 14:18-Through Bolts and Bars (Per Aspera Ad Astra) 7) 17:51-Prussian Glory (Preußens) 8) 18:12-British Grenadiers 9) 19:54-Grenadiers Return
NOT "busby hats"! They are bearskin caps and the HAC band traditionally wear them. I don't recall now if they always have done so but they were always closely associated with the Guards Division. I have lost touch with my friend who joined them many years ago now and would have been able to tell me. One thing he did tell me was that they don't have separate Officers and Sergeants Messes. At least when he joined that was the case, but now? I don't know.
@@Richard500 The HAC Infantry traditionally dress as per the Grenadier Guards, with some differences; The Corps of Drums had begged, borrowed, or acquired Bearskin Caps by 1985 when I joined, however, the Band only had Forage Caps and so Lord Mayor's Show etc were done with both Band and Corps in Forage Caps. Then in 1986 enough bearskins were acquired and a few borrowed to equip the Band as well, for the Regiments 450th parades in April/May. As far as I remember, both have been in Bearskin Caps for major parades since then. And yes, whilst there is a Sergeants' Mess, all ranks eat and drink together unless in a camp or somewhere where separation is the 'norm' due to other Regiments being present.
