Yes!
Hey Man! I see you are using your Air Conditioning. I heard it is hard to turbo and keep the AC due to the tight space. I will turbo my 328 e36 and wanted to keep my AC.
Is there any trick that you did to keep the AC on the car?
Hi!
This is my friends car, but I think I can speak for him. Yes, it's tight with AC and turbo at the same time if you are going with down mount. Better clearance if you are going with top mount. If you still want to keep the AC with a down mount turbo setup (as seen in the video) the tricky part is the pipe from compressor house on turbo to IC, so on the car in video the pipe is going under the subframe which is not the best way to go due to the low ride hight.
Have a look at my other later video (BMW e36 refinement), in that part I change from down mount to top mount on my own E36 turbo. Not the same car as seen in this video. Cheers!
@@JWMotorsport or maybe a vertical swap would allow it aswell?
What’s the camera
GoPro 7 Black
I scale to do such a project. i want to ask how to do it. how to force e36 to use 95 or 98 fuel instead of 85???
Sounds nice!
It's hard to say before knowing your knowledge, budget, setup and hp goals etc., but start with a wideband lambda sensor and take it from there.
Lambda 1.0/14.7 AFR at idle, lambda 0.85/12.50 AFR at full throttle is good goals to follow. In that way you can see what's needed, like, if the lambda/ARF is to lean at full throttle, you need more fuel = bigger injectors/fuel pump etc.
But for a "budget-build" on 95 or 98 octane this is a great start setup (on a M50B25/M52B25/28): "China/ebay turbo" good for ~400hp (GT35), turbo manifold, downpipe with wideband sensor, injectors ~5-600cc, intercooler, intercooler pipes, stand alone ECU (not needed, but much easier to config fuel table etc.).
In this case, google is your friend. There is a lot of forums with tips and so on.
Good luck!
Ok, so I’m planning on buying a project car with my dad together and build it, I thought of an Mazda mx5 or a bmw e36 328 or 330, my question is, how much this build did cost and if it’s legal to drive.
Dobson have a mod list?
Thanks for the answer
Sounds nice!
Go for the E36 with an M52B28 engine. They are reliable. Just add ARP bolts and a coopering gasket and the block is good for a 400-500hp with a good tune.
The cost depends how "serious" you are.
The mods on this car in video are in the descriptions.
But if you are reaching for ~400-500hp in a M52B28 (non vanos) you should do this;
* ARP bolts and coopering gasket
* Injectors x6 875cc
* AN8 feed, AN6 return (fuel)+
* Stand-alone ECU with E85 tune
* Wideband lambda
* Better fuelpump, like Bosch 044
* GT35 turbo or simular
* Manifold for the turbo
* Exhaust 3" from turbo
* Upgraded clutch
* Intercooler and pipes 2,5"/3"
* BOV (Blowoff valve)
@@JWMotorsport what would you recommend for a turbo Setup with 350-400hp?
@@senshi9324 The setup for the BMW in video is for ~350-400hp, so the setup mentioned in description.
@@JWMotorsport thanks dude, did u have any experience before starting this project or is it pretty doable if ur new to building cars.
I only have experience with motorcycles
@@senshi9324 The BMW in video is actually a friend of mines, but imo and experience of building cars its absolutly doable, you are learning on the way you are building and google has many answer. Good luck with your project. Cheers mate. :)
Hey bro can you give me the full mod list?
Hi,
The full mod list is in the video description.
Cheeers!
😍😍😍😍
Good car
Do you have a scavenge pump on the turbo since its low mount?
Hi,
No, my friend did not use any pump for the oil return on this setup.
@@JWMotorsport may I ask what turbo manifold u used then? Interested!
@@nitronixus9402 He got an "eBay manifold" on this car, similar to this: www.tatechnix.de/tatechnix/gx/images/product_images/popup_images/image_db_77BM001_2.jpg
@@JWMotorsport ohh but its flipped due to it being low mount yes?
@@nitronixus9402 No, he is using the manifold so the collector is pointing downwards.
Aluminium or iron block M52B28?
There is three (I think?) versions of this block.
This one is an EU version = aluminium block with Nikasil coated liners (weakest unfortunately
).
The US versions had iron block because of the petrol sulfur level (stongest for turbo build, along with the M50BXX).
Then the third version is a M52 with iron sleeves (US BMW Z3/Late EU versions "M52TUB28").
@@JWMotorsport How are the stock clutch and internals holding up?😅
@@mikaelsjostrom6257 Living on the edge!
My friend (the owner of the car in video) will rebuild the engine this winter.
Satan så kul att se att den används ordentligt! 😍 Saknar pärlan!
Great Video dude!
