Thanks Jay, really interesting. Did you consider trying to track down another set of MP-20s (not sure how easy that would be to do) rather than changing to the 241s? Would be interesting to know which you would prefer: a brand new set of MP-20s (if you could find them) or Pro 241s? As many others have said, you do the best at profiling clubs for slow/mid/high swing speeds. Too many others have a high speed golfer hitting their normal speed. Seeing the difference in ball reaction to different speeds speaks loudly. We appreciate your honesty. My favourite irons were the Mizuno MX 23. Now I have Srixon ZX5. Everyone should try hitting forged clubs, they really do feel better, "butter"!
Totally agree! I bought Cobra Forged Tec X irons and watching a review on this channel got them on the list that I took to my fitting. I tried others T350, P790 etc. They performed as he predicted and as he also recommended had the lofts weakened by 3 degrees.
So interesting that you had a stranger danger reaction to the Titleist. 🤣🤣 I'm for it. Golf is an emotional game. Humans are creatures motivated by emotion. We should play whatever is emotionally the most rewarding. This is why I love my MP 243s but ordered a set of Miura KM700. The Miuras are a bucket list set, the final iron designed by Miura-san, possibly the greatest iron maker ever. Seriously considering iron covers for them lol.
Great video, Jay and thanks. I figured the Wilsons would be in the mix based on the shiny shiny. But that dispersion on the 241s is TIGHT.Congrats on the new set. Let's see you hitting some shots with 'em on the course! I ended up getting both the Titleist 620 MBs and the Mizuno 241s 😆. The 620s I got as a Xmas present for myself - I've wanted a set for years, because I just think they're absolutely the cleanest, most beautiful iron I've ever seen - and I'm by NO means a Titleist fan. I figured they'd be too much club for me as they're both small and quite weak-lofted, even by modern blade standards. And I thought I'd play about four rounds with them, then go, "what am I doing! I can't hit these!" and then retire them to a bag in the corner to look at and pull out every so often for the range. But no - it turns out they're not that hard to hit after all, and they feel amazing, and they've stayed in the bag, with T150s in 6 and 5 iron. The 241s I haven't got on so well with, oddly. Horses for courses. But I do love that satin finish on them! heh heh
I play the JPX 919 Tour irons. I was fitted into Nippon Modus 105 stiff, and they are good apart from that I hit the ball very high. I bought some MP-69 blades as an experiment for the shorter end of the bag. They came with DG S200 stiff shafts. Firstly, the MP irons have ruined my JPX irons. I used to think the JPX irons felt good. But most of all, it’s the flight of the ball I now have control of. The combo of the blade and the shaft, or just the shaft has made a big difference. So, now what?! I’ve decided to go to the local Mizuno fitter to see what’s what. I’m guessing I’m actually going to walk away with a new set of irons… I think the blades are a little too demanding, certainly at the low end of the bag. My miss is usually a bit thin and that loss of distance is annoying. If I can get something that feels a good as the MP but is more consistent for me… they are welcome to take my money! 🤞🏼
@AskGolfNut I was on the last live and said I'd ordered a set of 245's, and people including yourself mentioned a long delay,, but I've received them today, only 2 and a half weeks after ordering them! UK based!

Hey Jay, not surprised you went with the mizuno's gorgeous clubs. I'm not sure if it's possible, but I would love to see a video comparing a few different sets of mizuno blades over the years, maybe like 241 vs MP4 vs MP37 vs TP9. Probably pretty hard to get a hand on all of these!

Totally understand your choice of the Mizuno, but based on feel and legendary quality of steel and forging am surprised you did not give one of the Miura irons a tryout. Thanks as ever.

Sub 70 have some nice clubs. I'm not surprised that they were up near the top but I just new they wouldn't make it into the bag for Jay, there just not shiny enough lol. I just got a set of sub70 659 tc's and they feel so good and I've never hit any club as good as I do them. Even though I'm a mid 20 handicap right now, and the 659tc is just a simple cavity back they just work good for me.

Absolutely they are. Their range now rivals many of the mainstay premium brands. They just need to get their Fitting Carts into more retail shops to give the golfing public a chance to test it 👍🏻
I play MB irons from Toura Golf in the copper finish beautiful clubs & use iron covers on them why would you want to damage your clubs unnecessarily particularly when you look at the price of them
Don’t buy into the iron cover thing. Looks incredibly ridiculous. Plus you never get to see your irons? Anyways, great review and I enjoy your new sticks!
I can understand discarding some clubs based on looks alone and can see a trend in your first three picks. But then the Sub70… seems to go against every reason you discarded most of the others. But whatever, I guess we like what we like. Shocked on your final choice though… shocked.
😊 I've just got so many confidence inspiring memories of playing great shots with those irons ifs difficult to come away from. It was really very very tight between all 3 but if its that close then you have to go with the tightest dispersion and also the one with the best relationship. 👍🏻
The other 2 got very very close, the Staff just because of its looks, and the Cobra because it's just really good performance and dispersion, but the consistent winner of accuracy and also the ability to recall situations in the past to hit a good shot in the present, you have to go with what you know 👍🏻
But with the comment "clearly sponsored duh" you are more than suggesting that my conclusions are biased, and worse case scenario dishonest through payment. Of which I can categorically say that I refuse payment from all manufacturers including Mizuno for any content. I have my preferences, like everyone and chose to wear/use what I want. My channel and the time I take in data collection sets it out above the rest in the conclusions I make based on analytical launch monitor measured data. If you don't care, then why watch if you don't care, and if you haven't got anything constructive to comment and even resort to questioning my integrity then I'd rather you watched someone else's channel and posted on their comments section. I don't like anyone questioning my honesty and will virulently defend it.
Dispersion pattern consistently the best and also a massive factor is the experience I've got using their equipment for so long. If any one would ask a tour player to change (without dumping tons of cash in their pocket) irons, if there isn't a distinct improvement from what they have but the relationship is removed by going to a brand they have less experience with, then they'd dump off the concept straight away. So the other two would have had to have been an improvement, of which actually the Mizuno had the better dispersion pattern consistently 👍🏻
@@AskGolfNut you can still find them new on numerous online retailers e.g. clubhouse golf. Only problem is all the custom options have gone. Still, I guess you could get a set, take the heads off, and put them on the shafts/grips you want.
My Cobra pick did well. I suppose the chalk prediction was always the 241. Tbf, it had the best spin deviation and tightest dispersion ring. Congrats on the new sticks.
It's really in the end the dispersion and that i have many years to recall on when I need to hit a good shot, I can recall similar experiences with them.... I must have done best part of 20+ gap tests, and the winning one was consistently the best dispersion 👍🏻
Great looking and worked well, just have no experience using a Titleist iron to draw upon when it comes to hitting different shots into the green. If you enjoy using them then absolutely the right decision for you 👍🏻
When your life is as full as mine and you are trying your absolute hardest to make it within the world of youtube, it's really hard to take time out to socially play. With home projects and work, the last 3 years have felt like a non stop train ride 👍🏻
Cool no probs 👍🏻 I knew when making the video that I may receive the classic, yeah Mizuno before and mizuno again comments so that's why I went into the detailed analysis of objectively deciding away from feel and looks what the data consistently delivered over many gap tests. Although I'm not going to stop all the comments, hopefully the impartial data wins through 👍🏻👍🏻
Best dispersion and best previous relationship won out in the end.... I'm still toying with the other two, and probably may use it in a social round but if I had to take it seriously then I would absolutely go down the route I have 👍🏻
It's a strange one with the Z Forged as there's a weird wave to the design at the back. Again it's totally subjective and it's a great iron, just doesn't suit my aesthetic wants 👍🏻
Also he has gone 245s absolutely, but what's not massively common knowledge is that he's gone Max retro with the lofts, apparently even though Mizuno doing offer this amount but he's gone full 4 deg weak 👍🏻
Don't FORGET to LIKE the video and COMMENT Below, I will try to reply to as many people as possible 👍

@@Spiritdiver I actually play the Mizuno 241s as well so wasn’t about that. Was more about just going outside the box and trying something different
@@AskGolfNut keep up the great videos!
I knew it
I wouldve put my house on you choosing Mizuno
Dispersion pattern consistently the best and also a massive factor is the experience I've got using their equipment for so long.
If any one would ask a tour player to change (without dumping tons of cash in their pocket) irons, if there isn't a distinct improvement from what they have but the relationship is removed by going to a brand they have less experience with, then they'd dump off the concept straight away. So the other two would have had to have been an improvement, of which actually the Mizuno had the better dispersion pattern consistently 👍🏻
Surprised you didn’t go with 221 if the chrome is what you want. They are pretty much the same but chrome 😂
Can't get a new set of them now they are discontinued 😕😕
@@AskGolfNut oh!
@@AskGolfNut you can still find them new on numerous online retailers e.g. clubhouse golf. Only problem is all the custom options have gone. Still, I guess you could get a set, take the heads off, and put them on the shafts/grips you want.
Algo!
620 mb are the best blades of all time
Great looking and worked well, just have no experience using a Titleist iron to draw upon when it comes to hitting different shots into the green. If you enjoy using them then absolutely the right decision for you 👍🏻
Well I'm shocked...😉
How often do you actually get out on course to use them?
Coz 4 years is a long time in RUclips world. 😱
When your life is as full as mine and you are trying your absolute hardest to make it within the world of youtube, it's really hard to take time out to socially play. With home projects and work, the last 3 years have felt like a non stop train ride 👍🏻
@@AskGolfNut I hope it's paying dividends. And I hope you manage to wear these out a tad quicker than your last set 😁👍
@zittyrrrs7082 golf clubs last a lot longer than what marketing departments and sales reps would have your believe 😊👍🏻👍🏻
Hahaha, a Mizuno guy picks Mizune. Who'da thunk it.
Yep ignore the performance data and offline dispersion rings.... Who needs accuracy anyways 🤣👍🏻👍🏻
@@AskGolfNut Don't get me wrong....I really thought the analysis was objective and very detailed. great job.
Cool no probs 👍🏻 I knew when making the video that I may receive the classic, yeah Mizuno before and mizuno again comments so that's why I went into the detailed analysis of objectively deciding away from feel and looks what the data consistently delivered over many gap tests.
Although I'm not going to stop all the comments, hopefully the impartial data wins through 👍🏻👍🏻
We have a winner. Not exactly a surprise 🥹
Best dispersion and best previous relationship won out in the end.... I'm still toying with the other two, and probably may use it in a social round but if I had to take it seriously then I would absolutely go down the route I have 👍🏻
@@AskGolfNut Congrats on the new sticks. Fan of the KBS $ Taper shafts.
Apparently Luke Donald has gone to the 245 🫣 just saying. The Srixon blades look stunning
