I remember watching a documentary that explained how tights were really resistant when they were created, so manufacturers purposedly started making them more fragile to sell more. It's a shame that we've normalized a piece of clothing that we can get 2 or 3 wears out of, and I hope that this comes to an end. Really useful video, Erin! Thanks ❤️
Once I bought stockings from the 1950s at a flee market. They lasted for years, never suffered a running. They felt a bit more "rough" for sure, but I liked that they were durable...
I've never been a wearer of tights but I find this really useful. I really like how you go through the brands and materials in these types of videos. I have looked into Swedish Stockings before, looking for layering pieces, but wasn't quite ready to make the purchase. 😬
I bought a pair of tights at a 7/11 when I lived in Japan almost 6 years ago. They've been my only tights during that time and they still look fantastic. Wish I could find more items like them.
I’ve had my Swedish stockings since 2018. I layer them with jeans during winter or wear with dresses when I anticipate cooler weather. Still going strong and I’ve just washed them through normal laundry. Definitely recommend them! I’ve got no sense of my body and will run into tables, chairs, etc even when I think I have adjusted course enough to avoid
Thank you for this! I only wear tights in fall/winter and I dislike synthetics, so I've had a hard time finding anything these last years. So I've switched to thrifted leggings and a pair of mostly bamboo leggings from my local natural foods store (I always wear with boots), but when the time comes for replacement, I may try Swedish Stockings. I do miss being able to get mostly cotton tights. Though cotton and bamboo can be very unsustainable too.
I've been seeing so many ads for Sheertex which almost had me buy. Thank you for this review. If I buy I think I'll go with the Swedish Stocking now that I've seen your review. Thank you!
Thank you!! Great information as always. I have definitely experience the guilt of buying tights and ruining them the FIRST DAY!! Could you share which tights you got from Swedish Stockings? Looks like they have an overwhelming number of options.
I like Snag tights - they are high-waisted, comfortable and very durable. They offer a wide range of sizes. I've had mine (black 120 denier) for over 2 years and wear them regularly during the colder season. So far there have been some small (easily repairable) holes around my toes, otherwise they have been snag free.
Thanks for this super useful video! Trying to find some sustainable tights for my wife's bday, and glad to hear Swedish Stockings are both durable long-term, and doing well on the sustainability and ethics front.
Does anyone have any recommendations for knit or crochet tights like the ones Swedish Stockings sells?? I have the Swedish stockings pair but find they rip fast and I wear tights daily, so I have to wear the ripped pair to things like work while I wait to afford a new pair. I used to wear the ones from h&m until they stopped selling them, they had amazing wear time, some lasted a few years so it was worth it to buy fast fashion. Any recommendations??
I like Snag tights, super size inclusive and reasonably priced. They say they're sustainable but I haven't really researched that yet. My tights last well without trying so I'm definitely not paying $70 unless they are actually bulletproof.
I really wish Swedish stockings made non-stay up thigh highs. I love stockings, but I would rather use a garter belt then use stay ups and would rather wear a garter belt then tights, but I may keep an eye on Swedish stockings
They only accept unopened items for return, but encourage people to contact them with any sizing/fit or product questions to try and minimize returns (and the environmental impact of returns) as much as possible.
Loved this video! I wear tights almost daily in the fall/winter and I have both Sheertex and Swedish Stockings. I find the Sheertex have great durability, whereas all of my Swedish Stockings ripped after one or two wears, usually in the toes and thighs. I really love Swedish Stockings' color range and sustainability over Sheertex, but only getting one or two wears really turned me away from trying them again. I noticed some reviewers had similar experiences to me with ripping immediately so I wonder if something changed about their construction in recent years?
I have a few pairs of Swedish Stockings that I bought 3 or 4 years ago and a few I bought 2 years ago. I wear the tights mostly in the fall and the spring and they've held up very well (proper washing/drying is important!). I don't think there are any noticeable snags on any of the pairs and none of them need retired yet. I only wish they had warmer tights for actual cold weather. The warmest tights I've found so far are Hue's heat temp tights.

Oh wow. Planned obsolescence is the worst.

This is awesome. Thanks for breaking down these options!

I think they're the Olivia Premium tights but I'm honestly not sure. I got them a few years ago and they've added many more styles since.
@@MyGreenCloset Thank you!! I will take a look :)

I love tights, so I appreciate your reviews of sustainable tights! Thank you.
What is the return policy for the Swedish tights?
They only accept unopened items for return, but encourage people to contact them with any sizing/fit or product questions to try and minimize returns (and the environmental impact of returns) as much as possible.

That's really surprising to hear. Do yours have the thicker/reinforced toes? On the website it looks like some do and some don't.
Loved this video! Thank you!
U are so cute
Is there a promo code for the Sheertex tights?
They have a flash sale on right now
Eyes so beautiful
